Drakes Ascot Park Foodland reviews
47Fruit and veg is always top quality and the deli has a good range of seafood and meal ideas. Locally sourced food. As always some products are a little pricey but the meat and seafood are cheaper on average from other retailers. Remember that the trolleys require a coin or coin key, same as Audi but shopping bags are available and they still pack your products. No self service, so be prepared to wait in line, but I didn't mind as people are employed rather than a computer and it's never a long wait, remember SA jobs for our youth to get a foot in the door for future employment. With this in mind I don't mind paying a little extra. Overall a pleasant local feel.
Very expensive, deli not good, the way they wrap.there cold meats for myself is off putting.
But generally far to pricey
Doesn't matter what time i go there there is always a cue to the checkout with 3 people there, 2 talking and one serving. Service is terrible. Staff are rude and push through the line (never an excuse me). Not hard to have manners especially in customer service. I won't be coming back
These guys have the best BBQ chooks.if you can get one, they sell out pretty fast! They also really good chicken schnitzel (deli type - would not bother with the packet ones) and top danishes.
Excellent spot! My mum (RIP) got me going there and its a shop I love. The attitude of the Drakes management is excellent. Great baked products (I even caught one of the bakers buying their own stuff one day!). They strongly support South Australian brands which is fantastic too.
My only point off is a bit picky, but I'm on lactose free milk (and the pension), and they do not have a sub $2 per litre brand in the long life range (but they do have the good brands).
Definitely support this excellent local business!:)
Middle aged blonde woman behind the counter was extremely patronising when I told her an item was ticketed differently to scanning price.
Instead of altering the price on the till she tried to argue with me about consumer law.
Very experienced, deli not good, the way they wrap.there cold meats for myself is off putting.
But generally far to pricey
Disappointed that we couldn't access a shopping trolley
A coin needed to release it. I haven't carried coins for ages. I won't be returning.
A great place to go for good value local, IE SA produced food. Along with everything else. Good community values, discount on Tuesday if you are a pensioner.
Went there this afternoon to get a few things for the week. My favourite part is going to the deli on a Saturday and seeing the young girl that usually serves me. She knows my order and ask about my week. Even ask follow up questions. The cashier girls/boy, who ever I get is always lovely They are quick and always are genuinely nice/ interested. 10/10 recommend!
My first visit here, and it was actually pretty good. Decent sized store, but not too big. Not overcrowded which was great! Staff seemed nice. Quick and efficient. Had everything I needed.
I can buy anything I need here. Best of all the is the high quality of fruit & veg. It just takes awhile to actually get to a register. Maybe this time of the year more cashier staff would be helpful. Most of the staff are pleasant & helpful.
Nice store and very friendly staff! Drakes can be pricey but I think that would depend on what you purchase. Apart from that good store.
The bakery manager & deli manager, always make my day. Organise a well managed department. My whole heart goes out to them.
Great customer service. I shop here with my disabled client and the checkout girls are ALWAYS lovely
Friendly staff good produce, can't use trolleys because I don't carry change, that's the only drawback
The deli, the bakery, the front end and every section are always so helpful. They are polite, have the best smiles and serve the freshest items. I went to the deli when two young girls were working, the manager and someone else both of them were both so positive. It makes the trip so worth it when the staff are nice!
I come here regularly "mainly to get my little one a pretzel"
The staff here are above and beyond always polite and helpful. Thanks
Was in here Thursday night 14/10 and just wanted to say the young girls on the front counter were absolutely lovely. It was a real pleasure, they were talkative, friendly and really positive. It's those moments of good customer service that make a difference and that we remember.
