When one attends a professional establishment, one expects professional care, however in my case there aren't superlatives enough to adequately describe the magnificent treatment I received from Dr Rob Baird in correcting a 2 yr old failed hip replacement, suffice to say, this guy knows his bickies & it has been my honour to have been in his care.

I checked out 3 knee surgeons, 2 interstate and 1 here in Darwin, before I found Dr. Robert Baird. The person who recommended Dr, Baird had had a botched knee replacement performed elsewhere. The surgeon he saw to repair this advised that due to the complexity of the revision he was reluctant to attempt it and directed him to Dr, Baird. Dr. Baird successfully performed a revision on his knee.

The fact that Dr, Baird welcomes patients with complications whose surgery will not be straightforward is testament to his standing as one of the top knee & hip surgeons in Australia.

Due to a history of osteomyelitis and severe bone degradation my total knee replacement presented some challenges. I was more than happy to fly down from Darwin in the knowledge that the best possible outcome would be delivered by Dr. Baird.
Now just 2 weeks later I am up walking with a stick. My old bowed, buckled in leg is now perfectly straight and my knee is improving by the day with physio. I'm extremely happy with the outcome.

My sincere thanks to Dr. Robert Baird and the staff at Burnside Medical Centre for providing me with the highest quality of care. They were very friendly and polite, and couldn't do enough to help.

I cannot thank Dr Baird enough for the successful outcome of my knee replacement. Dr Baird is an excellent doctor very professional, explained everything to me in relation to my knee and what needed to be done. Very thorough, understanding and knowledgeable. Great staff also very friendly and polite. Parking at Burnside hospital to see doctor was easy lots of spaces. Update just had my knee replacement surgery by Dr Baird excellent result apart from pain I'm up walking about with just a stick after 3weeks. Absolutely thrilled.

Prior to meeting Dr Baird my situation can be best described as ‘completely lost’…I did not know how to fix my ailing knees.

After spending at least ten years wondering about the merits of Total Knee Replacement surgery for both of my painful, non-functioning knees, I had the good fortune to attend one of the Burnside Hospital Information Evenings, at which Dr Baird presented.

Consequently, in May 2017, Dr Baird performed TKR surgery on my right knee and in March 2018 completed the ‘set’, by performing TKR on my left knee.

The result is wonderful and transformational.
I can assure the reader that Dr Robert Baird is an extraordinarily high-performing Orthopaedic Surgeon and a man committed to achieving the best possible outcome for every one of his patients. As well, he is a really good bloke.

Dr Baird should be avoided. After 2 visits seeing the doctor he told me- There is nothing more I can do for your knee, You are to young for a knee replacement but you need one in the future. My last visit about 2 months ago he said the same thing. His report to EML was I may need a knee replacement in the future, Now EML have refused my future knee replacement due to his medical report. He has totally screwed me over.
