Discovery Parks - Barossa Valley reviews
71Safari 18+ tents were awesome. Second time visiting. Wish the spa was operational 24hours and a bit of shade over the pool area would be a treat. Other than that it's a great stay!
My husband and I have stayed at this park previously and were very happy with the site and staff. This time we were visiting family staying there. It was their second or third time staying there.
Had a great time here with the family.
8 year old, 5 year old, 3 year old and 5 months old. Few nights stay. Great facilities, boys had fun in the waterpark. All loved the pool, playground arcade etc.
Cabin was lovely, exactly what we needed. Can't wait to come back!
Hello,
I was a guest at Discovery Park Tanunda and have known him for 26 years. A beautiful, quiet park at the entrance to Tanunda. It used to be a little smaller and there weren't as many extras. Good and friendly welcome and good service. The site offers some bungalows and cabins. It also offers plenty of space for caravans and tents. Like almost everywhere in Australia, the washrooms and toilets are very clean and well maintained. The kitchen is well stocked and well equipped. The pool, which didn't exist before, is nice, as is the playground for children. The park is very family friendly and inviting.
The park is surrounded by greenery and is also very shady, which is always good, especially in summer. It's a 5 minute walk to the town center. The prices are also bearable, even in the peak season. I really liked it, thank you.
As a caravan park, you would be hard pressed to beat this one. It has it all, water park, pool, games room, pizza oven, bouncy pillow and so on. I have stayed at many of the discovery parks and other sites and this is one of the better ones, at least in regards to park facilities. The only main issue I had was the pool and the staff and informing the woman at the counter it wasn't heated. It was frustrating having to repeatedly explain that it was not heated and being told emphatically by staff it was heated followed by an explanation of how the heating and cooling of large bodies of water works. After being told they would investigate after several minutes of this as we all becoming increasingly frustrated, a few hours later I received a phone call explaining that it was in fact not heated on that particular day. I have stayed there once before many months prior to this and had similar issues with this pool being extremely cold. If from the moment I raised the concern it was followed by a "oh, sorry about that, I'll get someone to check the temperature" this review would have been a five and I may have wanted to revisit the park. Aside from that, great facilities and very central to Barossa and a short walk into town. Just make sure the weather is hot to take full advantage of a potentially cold pool!
There is camping and there is camping "in style" in a Safari Tent. Tents are nestled in a separate part of the park amongst gum trees and beautifully maintained gardens. There is also a kids free swimming pool. Each tent has a deck area with an outdoor setting where you can sit and relax. The accommodation itself is chic with an ensuite bathroom, a well equipped kitchenette and for those cool evenings there is a fire pit.
We really enjoyed our experience and would thoroughly recommend it.we will certainly go again.

Nice park to stay at. Good Waterpark and pool if you are looking to cool down. Amenities are clean. Park was reasonably price and would be happy to stay again
Great caravan park. Nice big sites and good water pressure. Amenities are modern and always clean, the pool is heated and has a water park for the kids. Staff are friendly and it is close to town and all wineries. All round great stay.
Friendly staff and reasonable ammenities however the powered sites are very small. We have a 21 ft van and we only just fitted on the site with neighbours very close and no privacy. Unlikely to return
Very dissapointed. Management need to ensure when guests are booking online that large caravans are not able to be allocated in certain sites as most large caravans do not fit in this park. We could book an ensuite site when we didn't fit. Arrived and were still allocated one to which when we realised this, we called and reception said "Oh, you don't fit do you? " without me even mentioning anything. We were allocated another site that we didn't fit in. Very frustrating. Driving around with a large caravan in narrow streets from one site to the next is not ideal. Park is in need of a clean up and upgrade. We did obtain a refund with no issues which was the only positive. Lucky we found another caravan park nearby to stay at.
A lovely park with not too many trees, a kids water park, swimming pool and a games room. Amenities nice and clean and has a dump point. All flat grassy sites (get a bit muddy with all this rain lately) and some sites with floor matting which helps the mud. Dog friendly park. Prices on weekends quite frightening but weekdays not too bad. Staff is friendly and helpful. Walking distance into Tanunda town.
We really enjoyed our stay and the facilities. We stayed for few nights before Christmas and even though the park was busy, the service was exemplary. The couple who manages the park and the team at reception were very friendly. My 9 year old enjoyed all the kids activities that were set each day and we have returned back with so many gifts he won and all the discovery Merchandise! We checked out on Christmas day and the trip from Mr and Mrs Claus that morning was an added bonus which made it end on a high as well. Thank you and wishing you all an amazing New year!
I love staying here for the weekend. We stay in the glamping tents. Everytime. Adults only here. And away from the rest of the park. Very comfy room and bed with large bathroom and small kitchen. Ample parking and great facilities for kids if you wish to stay in the other park.
Friendly staff members and a nice little gift pack but a Little disappointed at the lack of things available for kids as half the stuff is turned off in the games room and the jumping pillow looks like it's been out if order for a while, especially since the weather isn't the best for the water activities
Surprised it doesn't have a pump track for a discovery
This is our last stop from a 21/2 week family holiday that included the all seasons in mildrua and the Discovery park in Lake bonney
Wonderful caravan park with excellent facilities in the heart of Tundara.
Close to many famous cellar doors in the Barossa region
Had our caravan club end of yar trip here. Great facilities, wonderful staff. Something for everyone
We had a great time at Discovery Park in the Barossa, stayed in a Safari tent for two nights on out honeymoon. The rooms were a great size and beds extremely comfortable. The facilities are fantastic, an outdoor fire and BBQ go down well
We were disappointed with a couple of things, the rooms are advertised with a "private 3m balcony" there's nothing private about the balconies which look directly into other people's tents.the view of the vineyard was blocked by a 2m high fence, Discovery Park also advertise one of their current services as having bike hire, however this hasn't been the case since the start of Covid
If expectations weren't set so high with their advertising, it would have been a 5 star rating!
Such an amazing place to stay and so much for the kids to do
10/10 definitely worth it
2 pools and spa
Water park
Outdoor movie
Playground
Lots of grass to run around
Caravan and cabins are all spread and not jammed close together
Stayed in a deluxe 1BR cabin, was clean and neat. Great home away from home. Staff were helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again.
Middle of winter and we are in a Safari tent. We enjoyed it very much.no where near as cold as I had expected. Giant and comfortable bed!
