Discovery Parks - Whyalla Foreshore reviews
64Good location and some sites close to water. Facilities good, tho wish surface of sites was 'kinder'.
Stayed for 2 nights/3 days in one of the superior cabins. Walls appear to be falling off, drain in bathroom is not connected and can see the floor, shower is mouldy, air con didn’t work and had to purchase fans and the toilet rocked back and forth but can see it has been re siliconed prior but not fixed in its entirety.
The room we stayed in slept 5 and images on the website showed a room of bunk beds however it was 2 double beds and a bunk attached to the wall that could be pulled down however it is locked and can’t be let down.
Jumping pillow for kids however lacking shade - a shade sail may be beneficial for the park considering Whyalla’s high temperatures especially in summer and may benefit from a slide also. Swings and see saw, mini golf and basketball courts also available for the kids.
Otherwise a great park, friendly and approachable staff and left my feedback with them.
The park has lots of potential in regards to activities for kids and families yet more so caters to miners with an abundance of 1 bedroom sites where it could cater more to families.
Nice park but the winds are bad would not recommend waterfront sites when the winds are up, amenities are good but a distance from were I was so just used the van, close to Jetty which was good but as I said the winds are bad.
We stayed in one of the deluxe cabins for the weekend. Ocean view, large living areas and bathroom (like HUGE), comfy beds and most importantly CLEAN! Great location, would highly recommend.
I had a fantastic stay at Discovery Parks in Whyalla. The staff, especially Manager Luke, were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Luke’s awesome beard added to the charm of the place! The cabins were well-maintained and offered a beautiful view of the beach. I couldn’t have asked for a better coastal getaway. Highly recommended!
Stayed here for 2 nights.
It was like a carpark but surprisingly we had room to move and privacy.
Older amenity block but still clean enough that we were comfortable.
Didn't set up awning as the wind does come in.
Cool to see the tides change.
Short drive to jetty and around town.
I would stay here again. 99% of the visitors were friendly.
I had a great 7 night stay in the park, and I loved it.
But it's a bit of a shame that the park management is more focused on the (out of town) workers more than holiday makers
For example, they have a perfectly good amenities block up the top end of the park, but there's almost no site's up there (I think I counted 6 or 7).
They really should move some of them cabins over to the top corner and then have a few more powered site's. (next to basketball hoop)
Very clean cabin/facilities. Value for money, as it's not expensive.
Friendly staff. Thanks! Jan2023.
It's a nice place to spend a couple of days amenities very clean, staff very friendly and the foreshore beautiful
Love the place as it was very clean, good laundry facilities and washing lines, took the 2 dogs with me and they were made to feel welcome, going back there in February 2023 and I'm looking forward to staying in a cabin and all the amenities that both the park and town have to offer, not forgetting that the staff made us feel at home and were helpful in every way
This place is busy. Amenities are clean and tidy. Was in process of a freshen up while there. Water front sights can get a bit windy to be expected. Enjoyed stay and would use again
The park is so amazing! It’s very relaxing for us adults but always something here for the kids to do so they were never bored! We stayed here over Easter and they put out a great egg hunt for all the kids. Cabin was clean and a great set up for our stay. Nicole was an absolute please to book with and was above and beyond helpful for our little family! We will be back and highly recommend your stay here on your next trip! XO
Stayed overnight in an individual cabin with two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and a living space. It was pretty cosy, clean and self-contained. The beds were okay but not super comfortable. Good location- walking distance to the marina. I would stay here again the next time I visit Whyalla.
This is a really nice park. Great customer service. Perfect location. Well priced and good sized van sites.
Initially I wasn't keen on my site as it was so far away from the amenities but in saying that, it made up for it in how quiet & relaxing it turned out to be. I could see the ocean but not a lot. But that was just a drive down to the front area near the water.
Some of the area where I was needs to be maintained a little better. I'm not sure if there are water restrictions, but watering the grass to try to keep it greener would be good plus the garden area near the fence needs tidying.
The main set of amenities was lovely and clean with plenty of hot water. The laundry is clean as are the machines.
I'd visit this park again without hesitation, provided I could be in the same area I was this time.
Awesome spot! Powered sites right on the water. Neat, clean park with jumping pillow, swings and mini golf for the kids. Nice walk along the foreshore to the jetty.
Great check in service, campground was nice, amenities were nice and clean.great location for an afternoon wine on the beach and short stroll to the pier.great location for a stop over
The amenities were nice & clean. The staff were very friendly. Nicole was extremely helpful. We had a lovely beachfront site. Unfortunately the wind got the better of us so we moved on to our next destination a day early. Overall the park is in a great location with lovely views.
Second time staying here, definitely would recommend. Cabins are very nice, and tidy. Staff always happy to help sand even surprised us with a free upgrade this stay!
Love this place. I stayed here for a week in a cabin with my chihuahua Buttons 2 years ago till I found a rental. Lovely staff, very courteous and helpful.great thing it is pet friendly.right on the beach. I would recommend it highly
