Discovery Parks - Clare reviews
76 Stayed here on a recent work trip. Great cabin, clean and comfortable. What a great location. We were able to walk to a couple of wineries. And enjoyed our evenings drinking wine, and watching the kids staying at the park enjoying the pool, jumping pillow and bike track all from the comfort of our front porch.
Will definitely come back here on holidays and enjoy more of what Clare has to offer.
Was a wonderful place to stay for the few nights we had. Mr 5 didn't want to leave! Beautifully maintained and serviced with all staff being friendly and helpful, especially the people cleaning the pool, trying to get it up and running despite the wind and pollen for the eager kids first thing in the morning:)
Will def be back
Beautiful place to stay, clean and responsive staff, even after hours. Park was next to Clare Valley centre.
The park facilities were great. Kids loved the pump track and jumping pillow. Camp kitchen was great, the fire place and pizza ovens were a lovely touch.
However we stayed in a superior cabin and it was not good. It smelt awful, was dirty and beds were very uncomfortable.
Trying to get through? On hold for over 30mins! Left my number- none calls back? AND thus has been going on for th past 2/3 weeks! Fustrating/annoying/poor management!
Gave a one star due to the inability to return phonecalls. I had 3 nights booked, but an emergency came up and had to leave the van there and head back to a hospital. I asked if a credit could be given to use the park again, was told they don't normally do that but would ring me the next day, 3 days later still waiting for return phone call.
We spent 4 days here. Nice clean cabins, swimming pool, jumping pillow, nearby bakery, information centre. They also have 2 emus which we fed thinly sliced apple. They were a delightful bonus.
We had a group booking of three for this park and had booked side by side powered sites for 3 families. On arrival we found out we had been moved but still together. Not really an issue but when we got to the allocated sites we found people already on them. Quizzed the guests to find they had booked the site prior. Long story short we ended up all separated on random sites. The guests were blamed for the mix up saying they had just setup on site and nothing they could do about it. Staff were not overly helpful and we were told full refund and stay elsewhere or deal with it basically. Not really an option when you have travelled hours to get somewhere.
Other than these issues the park is actually nice and plenty to do for the kids. Shower block dated and shower floors slippery. Kitchens were fine and communal area was in a good spot and large enough for multiple families. It's in close proximity to a couple wineries and short drive to heaps more.
Hopefully in the future they are more organised and manage the site allocations better.
One of my favourite discovery parks. Situated on the bushland with plenty of amenities for kids and families. The delux cabins are quite spacious with separate bathroom and toilet. The big balcony is perfect place to chill out. Ideal for holiday stays.
Very disappointing. Booked in advance for family trip on several sites together. Arrived and we are all over the place. Admin very rude and unorganised. Wont stay again.
We were caught out with no accommodation in the area. One night, two people with dogs, ungrassed powered site, $70! We've travelled all over and never seen this sort of price, even in peak times. Beautiful setting but noisy with traffic going past although only from 6am to 10pm. Great facilities for kids. Had a shower with almost no pressure in the morning despite showers not being busy. Facilities were not value for that sorry if money. Sadly, we would not return.
When I phoned up the lady I spoke too was fantastic and got us sorted quickly.
We arrived and all of the camp spots were well marked and the park was clean. The park itself is quite large and has many powered and unpowered spots.
Amenities were clean and tidy. Showers were warm and had good pressure.
Lots of kids having a great time but they were all quiet by 9pm.
Would stay here again if I were driving through this area.
This is one of the better parks we have visited cost a bit more but it probably worth it if you have kids, plenty to see and do in the area
Fabulous park great facilities lot's for the grandchildren to do plenty of things to see and do. A great little township very friendly locals well worth the effort to go there.
Love this nursery. The staff are always helpful and very knowledgeable. Great range of plants in season.
A great park, well kept, with clean amenities blocks & camp kitchens. Would love to come back soon.
Great for a picnic lunch on a sunny day. Kids saw an emu and turtles in the creek. Lovely aspect with big gum trees and nicely mowed lawns.
Had a fabulous time here! Stayed in the economy cabin and it exceeded our expectations! Clean, well maintained, lots of perso al touches, and very affordable priced! Office staff were so lovely and helpful. Will definitely be back!
Loved our stay in Clare. Nice and easy to get in the Riesling Trail. Office staff very helpful. Grounds staff prepared the fire pits every evening for us to sit around with others. Tourist information center just over the back with alot of helpful info on Clare. Good value for money. Would love to go back and stay one day.
We recently stayed two nights at the Clare Discovery caravan park. Firstly, it was so expensive. They charged my husband & I $72.50 per night for a powered site.we have NEVER paid that much.big rip off. Secondly, the park looked unkept, there was grey water running past our site on the road. A maintenance worker drove past & ignored it. If you are going to charge so much, we expect value for money. We will NOT be back.
