Desert View Apartments

Absolutely terrible place
Any reviews stating this place is good are friends of the owners or on the pay roll
Paint is peeling from walls and ceilings the doors didn't shut properly
The bed springs stick into you so I slept on couch
It is gross
I have stayed in some very basic accommodation but this place is charging decent prices and providing very budget with a note that says we know it's not the ritz but it's an underground experience
More like a nightmare
And yes the greedy owners will say the booking was not in my name as it wasn't

A great place to stay. Short walk to town. View in front of motel is absolutely beautiful. The cleaner here is extremely friendly, full of local knowledge. Rooms are clean, mattress was brand new and very very comfy. Internet reception only works out front near reception. Definitely recommend to stay here. Will definitely be back to stay here. Motel gets booked out, so book early. Thank you for our stay here.

Super clean apartments (bleached to within an inch of it's life) full size kitchen and bathroom, stocked with all the utensils and appliances you could use for your stay. Great lounge room with recliners, super comfy beds. Good view of some of the town in a nice quite area. Take DVDS as there is no internet reception away from the kitchen area. Would definitely recommend.

Underground Hotel, great location heaps of comfortable, spacious rooms with friendly staff. Not the fanciest hotel, but what do you expect your in the middle.of nowhere.

Had high expectations, however was dissatisfied and disappointed. Rooms were dirty and the doors didn’t open or close properly and constantly got stuck. I had to sleep on the couch due the the poor condition of the bed with broken slats and an outdated mattress. Doonas were as thin as tissue paper. Lots of the furniture was broken and needs replacing, the oven and stove top didn’t function. Amazing town with heaps to look at, however I would not recommend staying at Desert View Apartments.

Livable and your only option for last minute travellers like us. People are friendly. The kettle was rusted and floor had imperfections but hey that's why these rooms are booked the last as compared to other ones

Not nice place to stay would not recommend

Wifi does not work
Place is dirty and cutlery glass wear and plates were not clean
Beds are very uncomfortable and you can feel the springs in your back cause my cousin to sleep in one of the couch
The bed I slept in was missing springs and when I sat on it I hit the slats through it
It was not just my bed that was bad we had six beds in two different apartments and none of them were good or comfortable

Suggest if you do stay here bring your own blanket because the doona is as thin as tissue paper

Highly disappointed
Even the doors and furniture was broken or got stuck
Bathroom very outdated and hot water for the shower didn’t last long

Oven and stove does not work and when opening the oven the door fell apart

Great place, and the best place to stay with your girlfriend, partner, wife or husband.very relaxing and enjoyable and would go back anytime.

It's been great for us as a family of 5. It has so much potential- an upgrade and some money spent would make it an even greater experience.

What an amazing place to stay. Incredibly comfortable for families and well positioned to town. Micheal very helpful and went above and beyond to help us with some running repairs to our car.

It is special to sleep in a cave. The appartement is fully equipped and has two bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen. Everything you need is there.

It is a nice experience to be underground. The place, however, is a bit run-down (bathroom and kitchen especially).

Staff really great. Went all out to make stay memorable. Room was clean, roomy and comfortable. Would recommend to anyone to come and stay.excellent all round. They recommended to take a tour with follow me down under which was also great. Thank you for the experience.

It's an experience to see what it's like to live in a dugout. The place is tidy but very dated, needs a refresh. Reasonably comfortable.

It is a very unique place to stay, no doubt. It has certain character and charm and it's underground. No windows in living areas or bedrooms, meaning, if you are planning a long sleep-in this place is perfect!

It's spacious and has almost all the facilities.
The view from outside the property is also spectacular!

Check in was easy and lady at the front desk was friendly enough.

The reason for my 2 stars? The cleanliness! This has to be one of the dirtiest places I have ever stayed in. Yes the town has a dust problem. But it not just the dust. The sheets weren't changed. There were hair on the sheets and pillows. Used tissue on the floor and scrap rubbish everywhere. Floor were dirty. I did not even sit on the sofa and used my own sheets and pillows on the bed.

Very poor standards! Would not stay there again.
