Derrimut 24:7 Gym reviews
21Music still loud in the city. I saw a lady saying to a staff guy telling to turn down but didn't so I said it Sa well but nothing changed. Good job
Music is very loud if you're listening to your own music, especially when underneath the speakers.
Not as much in the way of cardio machines as I've seen in other gyms, mostly weights and weight machines etc.but can usually get something for cardio, definitely would be nice to have some more.
Has a good clothing and accessories shop, as well as fridges with food and drinks. Always staffed so safety is not an issue.
Good size gym with helpful staff. Lots of machines and free weights all in the one space. It was very busy between 6: 30 and 7: 30am but there were still some machines available to use, even if my preferred ones weren't.
Equipment is fine. But very dirty and dusty. No soap in toilets and smells disgusting. Busy.
Good variety of equipment. Very affordable rates, cheapest I've seen. Due to that, it's very popular and almost always full even during the early hours. The gym could also use more room for stretching.
Busy, but haven't had to wait for a machine. Always something free. Clean, friendly staff
Don’t ever enter on Mondays Tuesdays and Wednesday after 4: 00pm because you will never find a place to walk or to workout.
Bench seats are torn, popular machines are probs broken, bench isn’t usable if water leaks from ceiling, platforms are dented, clips aren’t tight, not enough weights for machines. Just fix these things pls
I just wanted to give positive feedback and a huge shout out to the staff at Derrimuts Melrose! (Orion and Elly are the two names I recall).
My partner went unconscious in the gym last Saturday 29th April, after feeling dizzy and nauseous, and paramedics were called on site. I was extremely impressed with the staff, (both those on shift and also those training in the gym at the time).
They were VERY quick to assist when I called for help - as I was supporting his neck and unable to move his weight myself. They provided first aid, assisted with lying him down on the gym mats, elevated his legs, and got him a Powerade for sugar.
They stayed with us whilst he was regaining consciousness, and checked in not only with him, but also with me, to make sure I was ok. I think that the actions of the staff should really be commended. I definitely feel very reassured about gymming at Melrose, knowing the response and coordination they had to this situation.
Thanks so much guys, we appreciate you:)
Patrons are a good bunch & pretty clean but equipment needs maintaining.
All bars and grips for machines need to be turfed immediately (unsafe)
Fix the rowng machine
Fix the cable machines
Get the casuals at the front desk of their phones and out on the floor.
That is the difference between a 3 star and a potential 4 or 5 star rating.
Awful ear piercingly loud music every time I’m here. Have to wear ear plugs - no point using earphones because I can’t hear my music over the speakers.
Nice aray of machinery, clean and great atmosphere.but its not my job to go find weights. Staff should keep the place a little more organised.
My go-to-gym. Started my membership at Melbourne, continued it here when I moved to Adelaide. Been with Melrose branch for more than a year now and two years with Derrimut Gym overall.
Always a great experience with derrimut, their prices are notably cheaper than other chain gyms, yet I find the derrimuts gyms are alot nicer. Their gyms are pretty well kitted out with a great range of high quality machines, and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. The melrose park gym is a bit small and stuffy but still adequate in terms of equipment, gets ridiculously crowded 4pm-7pm so would recommend going outside these hours.
Great equipment, the squat racks are fantastic. Is a little small and can get crowded even outside peak times. Wish there were more benches (I wasn’t able to get one at all during my visit) and that the music was turned down a good bit.
Great, friendly and prompt service,
Julian was very helpful and followed up my request immediately when he got back from break.
Good gym overall
I only have two issues
Cleaning in the toilets can be improved and music is considerably loud.
They charge admin fees upon renewal, which is not appropriate as it is a one time fee everywhere else.
Not a bad gym in any sense, in terms of machine variety, its good.
The condition of these machines on the other hand, not the best.
Gyms very hummid and very busy for its size.
