Corio Hotel

In the 2 years since my first review of the Corio bistro I have to regrettably say the quality of the food has deteriorated significantly. Our small group regularly dined here until recently - we now go elsewhere. Sorry the food was rubbish.

Our family had dinner at Corio Hotel last night. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. Staff were friendly, but that's where it ends. After waiting more than an hour for our meals on what was not a busy night, what we got was definitely not what was promised on the menu. The barramundi was dry, as were the lamb shanks. Shanks were also fatty, tasteless and supposed to come with mash potato and veg. What was delivered was no mash (replaced with chips?) and 2 pieces of carrot. Kids nugget meal was equally disappointing, not sure how you can get chips and nuggets wrong. The chips were mushy and cold and the nuggets just mush in crumbs. High end pricing for terrible pub food with all adult meals purchased around $35 per meal.
I would suggest giving this a wide berth. Shame, because it is a nice old country pub and does have potential.

Delicious reasonably priced food.
Brandon our Primary host is a very pleasant and thoughtful young man with an enthusiastic attitude and charismatic charm.
Brandon has the patrons best interests in both heart and mind.
A rarity.especially in the the present day hustle and bustle of the commercial culinary environment.

What an absolute turn around! If you haven’t visited this venue in the last month then you need to! The quality and service is exceptional, the value for money is on point! The new management clearly know how to run a good country pub, we will be back!

Wife and enjoyed our meals, I had crispy salmon and Mrs had the chicken breast, couldn't fault a thing, even had kids talking loud, having a great time, great atmosphere

This place had pretty ordinary TripAdvisor reviews but we were here a few years ago and loved it so came back. We we started with bread rolls that were undercooked and cold in the middle. I had the lamb shanks and they were beautiful. Unfortunately I was the only one who enjoyed their meal, schnitzels I guess are pre-cooked but were lukewarm, chips were definitely pre-cooked and were old and dry. Pretty disappointing on a whole as the meals were fairly expensive.

Great service the roast of the day just melted in my mouth. Let's not forget the cold beer

Not often food is so bad you have to hand it back but it was here. Got the roast of the day (Pork apparently) super old and dry, was brittle and fell apart. Accompanied by old potatoes (cold) and some Peas (also cold) the cook tried to liven the plate up with a watercress garnish but honestly this should never have left the kitchen. Staff were friendly and returned my money.

Ordered 2 kid meals with a thing of garlic bread to share, salt and pepper squid and a burger. Incredibly rude staff beefing about us to eachother. Forgot about the garlic bread and told us we didn’t buy it

An unexpected surprise travelling through the area and looking for a good dinner.
The Corio came up trumps!
Our meals were not only delicious, but home-cooked goodness. Would recommend the Corio to anyone wanting a good dining experience at a very fair price! The Mains

I ordered Salt & pepper squid, it was awful deep fried and like chewing on rubber. The salad looked like it was 2 days old, I got my money back and didn't order anything else.
My Son ordered garlic bread, never came.
My daughters chicken nuggets were disgusting. Do yourself a favour and have dinner somewhere else, spend your money on better quality food. Not frozen crapp!

Had a meal at the bar on a Saturday night. Fish and chips was disappointing - bland and not fresh. Plenty of better options around

A lovely place to eat, the hotel has retained its original features which makes it a charming place to spend time. The food was great and the service friendly and quick.

Sat outside and enjoyed a Corio Seafood Platter for two with the dogs. Very dog friendly, staff were friendly and helpful. Meal was very goog. Enjoyed.

Reasonable priced meals. Quality of food was underwhelming, Chicken Kiev was overcooked and dry, incorrect gravy came with the schnitzel, pastry on the pie special was undercooked, filing was tender but had bo sauce

Possibly the most underwhelming over priced meal I have ever been served, when I questioned the meal, the chef asked if I wanted it or no, as they where busy, definitely skip this pub and go to the goolwa, bar staff are nice!

The staff were great!
And the food - was delicious.
Roast of the Day - Rost Pork with veggies and gravy.
Plentiful amount of Pork (no crackling) and the veggies were bloody scrumptious.

I ordered the pork sausage with broccoli and mash and it came without broccoli and sausage was very over cooked. Husband ordered lamb chops with peas and mash and it came without peas. My husband also said the chops tasted like they were cooked twice. Kids cheeseburgers though where good, service was fast and staff where friendly.

A pleasant spot to enjoy a pub meal. Very friendly and quick sevice. A good range to choose from the menu.
