Coorong Hotel Motel reviews
15Stopped here for lunch were told place is closed except for rooms at $85 a night sign at front says $75 he said will do breakfast continued on journey.
THE place to stay on your journey. It is simple, but hey, you are here for the people and the landscape mate. Right?
Very friendly owner who was extremely happy to help and cater to needs. Very comfortable and clean room. Complimentary breakfast supplied. Great pizzas. Quiet location. Great for a stopover.
Ray was very welcoming, cooked us up a couple of pizzas and washed them down with a few cold beers. Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. All for an affordable price.
Came to our rescue when we were blown off the beach camping in Coorong National Park. No frills, but incredibly friendly staff.
Raymond was awesome, great service, he couldn't do enough for us, made us the best pizza for dinner, the restaurant is homely with a tv, the room is nice, basic but very comfortable, clean, shower is nice, all you need on a stop over and the beach is huge had it all to ourselves.thanks Raymond for your down to earth hospitality
Granted, it was only a phone call, but quite rude and abrupt. I understand the rooms are booked out, that happens. Then denied seating at the restaurant, that happens. But when I asked if I could at least refill my water bottle (I’m currently walking from Adelaide to Melbourne and this was a stop I desperately needed to at least get water from) the person at the other end of the phone was very abrupt, rude, and stated “we’re closed”.
I was unaware requesting some tap water would be that much of an inconvenience to warrant such a rude manner.
Update: the owner’s reply is highly inaccurate: my request for drinking water, as well as other requests, were very clearly for the next day, as I had stated it was for ‘tomorrow’. I had no intention of turning up at 11pm, nor am I aware of where this time was fabricated from on behalf of the reply.
Clean, comfy rooms. Beautiful food -Mulloway was first class. Welcoming and knowledgeable hosts. A quirky motel with good vibes in the middle of the Coorong. We will certainly return. Thank you for your hospitality.
Loved the pizza and coffee. Very peaceful, friendly and relaxing setting. Raymond was a fantastic host! Thanks Raymond
Thanks to Ray for looking after Lachie and myself on Tuesday. Wonderful, down to earth service with a personal touch. Very quiet location, basic but serviceable rooms and a characterful bar. (The beer was nice and cold!)
Raymond our host made us feel at home from the start, rooms neat & tidy, mullet dinner best fish meal in years. The place may be somewhat dated but the great hospitality more than makes up for it.
We have tried the Coorong hotel at policemen’s point so dozens of times over the last six months as have many locals but it is always closed despite his highway signs saying open.
It seems unless you are a guest in his rooms they will not open the door and serve general public a meal or a beer. We have stood at a locked door while there’s 1 table getting a feed inside and watched others be turned away also under the excuse it’s booked out.
Are you shut or are you open?
We are on worldtour and had many overnight stays - but this was one of the most charming, hospital and delicious. Thank You Raymond and brother
This was a gem of a stay.
Raymond, the owner and our host called us enroute to check on us, prep heated our room and popped the lights on for our arrival.
The location is quite remote so these little touches were most appreciated.
The accommodation is as promised. It reminded us of the good old days of roadside motel stays. Very nostalgic.
The food was absolutely exceptional.
It’s obvious why locals love this place. The pizzas, like all the meals are homemade from scratch. Raymond is an experienced chef from Sydney and it shows. It was a stunning meal
Highly recommend a stay. Come for the nostalgia and enjoy the company and amazing food.
