The service was fabulous and very attentive, our meals were outstanding and we loved the new menu choices and vibe of the venue.
The renovations are great with the addition of the outdoor area.
Highly recommend.

Under refurbishment, it is going to be a great improvement and a lovely, pleasurable location

Perfectly cooked schnitzel and well worth the size. Though still in the middle of stage 3 renovations the new bar/courtyard space is great space to eat.

Tawny was wonderful in helping me organise a large group to visit the hotel royal for lunch. All of the platters and drinks were great, our guests had an excellent time. Thank you

Went for a meal at 12pm and was led outdoors to an outside section due to construction.

Tried the doors but locked. Male staff member looked at us and continued on what he was doing.

Amazed we just walked off and got a good meal elsewhere.

Lady at bar was very nice.

I won't come back again

Nice pub but it was a surprise when we got told it was a Mexican menu
They did have a very small pub menu but looking around on the day only 1 person was eating the Mexican food and everyone else was eating the small pub menu
Thought it kind of strange

Lousy service as it is table service which was very slow drinks were expensive & the wrong drink delivered on the refill.house still white instead of White House Bubbly.
My Porterhouse steak was cooked to perfection.
Their Salad left a lot to be desired. 1 piece of Tomato. 2 small pieces of Cucumber. Dark Green lettuce leaf. My So called Mushroom sauce.was a commercial tasteless gloop.
My Son said his chicken Dish was tasty but he can eat Spicy Food i can't.

They are doing renovations and it will be awesome when they finish. But I had a beer in the new bar near the gaming entrance and the beer tasted like dirt I told the girl and ordered a stubby, she didn't bat a eyelid.charged me and didn't try to find a manager to check the problem.no big deal to some but I've worked hospitality for 43 years and only drink beer. I know the difference.apart from that it is going to be an great venue

I was looking for nice Mexican place and we found this place, very disappointed, when I saw the menu I though omg is going to be really good because the names of the dishes sounds like really authentic Mexican, but when we got the food nothing amzing just simple chicken or other tacos that actually were expensive, service was actually good we got the food fast but on flavour nothing.

Awesome mexican food and welcoming staff.
My partner loved her Mojito and we both enjoyed our time there.

Overall, a nice night out - the food is pretty good. The portions and quality is there. We ordered fried chicken taquitos and chicken wings for appetizers. The taquitos were really good, and the wings were good, but pretty typical pub style.

Mains were chicken nachos and a chicken burrito, which were also pretty good.

For drinks we had pina coladas and margaritas, and I ended up also having a Corona (which strangely was served without a lime - at a Mexican restaurant, of all things).

The owner has mentioned in other reviews that they are in the process of renovating, which is good, because the atmosphere was not aligned with what you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant. It was very much a pub that happens to serve Mexican food.

Keen to come back and see what it's like when the renovations are done.

Food always comes very fast, so if you are hungry, that's a bonus. Food is always pretty yummy and fresh too. The pub staples are great. The mecican corn is excellent. I think some of the Mexican dishes are overpriced (most entrees are about $20). Good list of beers on tap.
I always feel a bit uncomfortable here as the furniture and decor is out-dated and there is a strange arrangement with the rooms and furniture. It's dark in lighting which can be a good thing, but here, as the furniture and carpet are also dark and dated, makes it all feel a bit cave-like and tired. There isn't a really good atmosphere.
The interior designer really stuffed up the Royal Hotel. Another beautiful old deco pub that has had most amazing features ripped out. It would really benefit from an update decor-wise.

This is one hell of a sleeper place to eat, not very busy the food was very flavorful and being from the US, it is hard to get good mexican in Adelaide. Had the grilled octopus and the carne tacos. Meat was was great and there was a good amount, the beans were almost the best part. The octopus was very tender and not chewy. The churros were awesome, like lick the plate good, soooo yummmy. Give it a try. Not on the cheap side but a gooood meal, 100 bucks without drinks. Also had the taquitos as an app also very tasty! Will come back for sure!

Called ahead for reservation but was welcomed without it. Greeted at the door with friendly smiles.
Service is fantastic. Checking in on us throughout but not over-bearing.
Food AMAZING. Burst of flavours in the pulled pork taco; veggie enchilada a great size and delicious; pulled pork enchilada a great mix of flavour and kids menu has a bit of everything for even the pickiest eaters.
Craft soda delicious! Definitely recommend.
100% recommend this restaurant. You won't be disappointed!

Lovely Sunday lunch. Wine and fish. Jioned their loyalty card club. Won money on the pokies. Front bar is large with Tab facilities
& a range of popular beers, wines, spirits.

The restaurant is inside of a pub which is unusual for a Mexican place, but they did a good job separating the ambiances. They have 2 fire places so it is nice and warm.
Food is good but the tacos are very small and expensive. It is 15 or 14 dollars per taco and only comes with 2 small tacos, soft corn shell. Burrito was a better call and can fill you up more. Ceviche was good but too much salad not much fish.

Overall, I'm pretty unhappy with Condesa. My wife, daughter and I thought we'd give the new Mexican place a shot.

We arrived with a reservation and were seated immediately. Our water was brought out and we ordered drinks and began to peruse the menu. Aside from rather exorbitant prices for most of the dishes, the selection was good. We ordered out meals and then everything went off the rails. Another server came to take our orders. We assured her we'd already been served and she went away. Then she returned to ask for our orders because the first server had failed to note them properly. Okay. Time passes and the meals start coming out, and finally a drink arrives (a cocktail). Somehow the beer has been forgotten. My daughter's meal is missing a salad and a lemon ("We stopped bringing those out for kids because they don't eat them. " I am not kidding.) After asking the server to finish bringing my daughter's complete meal and a trip to the bar for my beer we finally get to the eating.

Honestly, it was on par with a chain store like Zambreros, or slightly worse. The nachos were bland and the enchiladas had a sweet flavour to them, making them taste rather like a badly prepared Bolognese. Then, crown on everything: 10cm of plastic wrap in the salad.

That was the end. I brought it to the attention of the staff, who did offer a complimentary dessert.but at that point I wanted nothing more to do with the establishment. The manager did, in fairness, comp us the beer and the children's meal.

We will not be returning.

Dined there on Sunday afternoon with my wife and daughter. Service was brilliant, kids meal is great value at a good price and the food was just what we were wanting. Delicious! Fealt the need to leave a review as we didn’t expect it to be an 8 out of 10

Really good food. My only gripe is that you guys used a spicy salsa on the kids nachos ordered off the kids meal. But without fuss you guys whipped up a new plate for the little guy, and we thoroughly appreciate it. Great job, will be back.
