CJ1 Indian Curry reviews
20My husband and I travel a lot and Indian being our favourite cuisine, we try a lot all over SA. I can honestly say, CJ1 is by far the best. Food is always hot (temp) and delicious. Can't fault it, service is always friendly. We live 1.5 hours from Port Pirie but often travel that distance to get a curry because that's how good it is. Second to none.
Wow! First time customer, and was suitably impressed. Dishes were perfect, the cheese naan was incredible and the cucumber raita was spot on! Service was friendly and prepared quickly. Will be our go to for Indian food, loved it
Got Lentil Curry with Rice and Chic Pea Curry with Rice and Naan Bread.
Best Indian Cuisine I have had in a long time.
Friendly and courteous service from staff at this restaurant
My Sri-Lankan carer and I live on curries, and we though the food was amazing. It's a shame we live so far away. Next time I'm in Port Pirie we will go there again.and again.and again!
Again brilliant food. There is an Indian festival coming up in June we are certainly going
Our first time in Port Pirie. On Saturday, we had lunch here. Through the owner and chefs
‘A recommendation, we ordered a chilli chicken curry and a Veg Briyani. Came out truly excellent. As we’re familiar with Indian foods, the dishes was remarkably served with care and great flavours. Highly recommend. Waiting to try another interesting dish next week. Price is reasonable.
Disrespectful! Totally insane. I had ordered 4 garlic Nan, chicken masala curry and chana masala (something like this) oh my god. I still can’t believe they gave us that food. Garlic Nan was over cooked (turned out black) on one side and other side was not cooked, I could see the flour in side. Chicken masala didn’t seem to be fresh. I asked him to make it spicy. It was not spicy at all, no salt. I am not even joking, I threw all good in bin. This is the worst Indian food I ever had. Sick.
Best Indian you’ll ever have! Never had a bad meal! 10/10 recommend. Get the butter chicken, rice & a garlic naan. It will change your life.
Not impressed, naan was burnt. Very oily food and just regretted walking in the place. Even the walls are grease stained, never again! WOW! The place burnt down! Funny that, now they are opening up again in a new location! I hope that they do better this time, but I am not going to be a customer!
Not impressed, naan was burnt. Very oily food and just regretted walking in the place. Even the walls are grease stained, never again!
The two takeaway curries I ordered lacked flavour. The prata was soggy and oily. Definitely would not be back.
Bought three different main meals. Bland, boring, oily food. It ended up in the bin, what a waste.
Service is always friendly and food is always great. Would recommend to anyone who likes Indian food but, can get beyond the not so appealing look.
Delicious Paneer
Fresh Naan
Was absolutely amazing - I will definitely come back when I'm next in town!
The Korma sauce was great! First affordable Indian restaurant I have come across so really impressed! Got enough dishes to last a few days. Couldn't get that in the city
Well I've read some nasty comments about CJ1. None are correct, if you go into a shop and you are not polite why should you get it back. The boss was great the food probably better. Had Chicken Vindaloo with mixed veggies. Just gteat
Go there.
First time to try this place and Indian cuisine in general. Will most definitely come back. Good food and service.
Cj1 has a welcoming and exotic feel the dining areas are lovely the customer service and friendliness of the staff is extraordinary I love this Indian food shop it's my favourite in south australia and I recommend my personal favourite the butter chicken
Really good curry, I usually get the lunchtime special when I come to Port Pirie as I have to have a quick lunch. Once I asked for a special order paneer butter masala and it was one of the best I'd tried.
Very rude and unprofessional guy, we went in and 5 people to have food, but just due to his attitude we walk away, and ended up at KFC, will not see this place again
