Cheekies Hot Chicken

Honestly it is tough to rate this place based on two visits. The first time it wasn't busy and I had a sandwich. It was served quickly and tasted great.

The second visit I ate in and had the tenders, they were overcooked and dry. The service was poor and disappointing. The fries were horrible and powdery

I have been trying to get to Cheekies for a couple of months now and I was pleasantly surprised.i ordered the "hot" chicken burger and it arrived in under 10 minutes.on the first bite the fillet was nice and crunchy with a good bun. The flour was similar to a zinger burger with about 20-30% more heat.if you like your hot stuff this place is a winner.

Staff were very friendly, drink range was nice and food was very good. Fried pickles were delicious, chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the chips were yummy. Mac n cheese was very tasty, although could be a bit more cheesy. Completed the spicy chicken challenge, as the name suggests it was very challenging!

It's hot, it's chicken but it's not cheeky. The staff are actually quite pleasant and appropriately attentive.

Love the whole vibe of the joint! Tried the chicken sando and coleslaw, both great. Chicken was nice and crunchy and very flavoursome.

Asked for no pickles and got pickles. Crumb on the chicken fell off very quickly and easily and ended up like a grilled chicken sando. Not sure I'd get the chicken sando again and if the tenders are the same, I doubt I'd go back. Apart from that, the flavour was nice, chips were amazing and their signature sauce was incredible

Spectacular lunch today! We needed a change of pace from the usual sandwich and roll catering for our recent in-house office training and decided to get onto Cheekies. The team LOVED it! Perfect spice (Note: when they say HOT, they mean HOT!) and seasoning, delicious tender chicken and chips are spot on. Will be back next time!

Where do I start… let’s start with appearance.

Seemingly insignificant this funky little restaurant Is incredible. Nestled into street scape of a high rise tucked in behind some hydrant boosters Cheekies has a diner feel with a modern feel.

Tables out the front are a great way to enjoy your meal while still being amongst it all or dine in with some amazing house music in one of the four booths or why not pull up a stool at the bar.

From the get go it’s a pleasant experience with staff incredibly friendly and helpful and the menu is easy to read and follow.

I ordered Tenders 2 Medium & 2 No heat to experience the flavours of both and also chose fries.

What an experience! The flavour of the chicken was incredible.and I’m gonna say it, it was so moist nobody likes dry chicken! The chips were crunchy and so tasty… the medium chicken was hot, but not too hot I couldn’t enjoy it, it’s probably my limit so I can only imagine what the hot ones are like.

All in all a great experience and I 100% will be back.

Ok, when the menu says 4 wings - don't be fooled into thinking that these are 4 normal sized wings - they are big wings. Then they come with a side as well and the side serving sizes are equally as generous. As expected the chicken was beautifully cooked and really tasty. The sando was good too. The potato and gravy was ultimate comfort food but my favourite were the fried pickles. My lunch date doesn't like pickles and even he was tucking into those!

Just delish. Will be back again 100%

Easily best fried chicken in Adelaide! Kitchen staff are great, as is management. Really loved the chicken tenders, and the house beer from Big Shed was delicious; just had to have another!

I tried the hot version. It was not hot that it would make you water. However for all my friends who enjoy spice, it might lack the punch you crave.

Unfortunately the chips were soggy and the chicken was tasty but not very warm. I’ve had better elsewhere. Will come back at lunch to try their sandwiches.

My friends and I (around 5 of us) wanted to eat at a wings bar to celebrate the end of our first uni exam, but since it was permanently closed, to our dismay, we decided on the spot, to try Cheekies Hot Chicken. This was about a month ago, late June/early July.

We arrived at exactly 5pm, and the place was empty. We were greeted by a male staff member who didn't seem too pleased to see us (to me at least). He asked if we had a booking and obviously we didn't. With the thought that we might not be seated as we didn't make a prior booking, I stood at the opened sliding door, waiting for him to make a decision, thinking we might have to try another place, thus keeping the door open for us to leave. He then told me to close the door with an annoyed tone. At that point, I already felt unwelcomed, but I gave him the benefit of doubt because it was raining and freezing.

The 5 of us could already feel the awkwardness, but we proceeded to order anyway. Again, when ordering, we felt like he didn't want to serve us, as if we were a burden to him. The portions, on the other hand, were generous & the batter was tasty. However, the batter was so thick that I could barely taste the actual meat inside, hence the 2 stars. Throughout the 1-1.5 hours we were there, only 2 other tables of 2-3 came in to dine, and if I heard correctly, they didn't have a booking either.

I have never written a review, but the way this particular staff member treated us, I was compelled to write one. I work in the F&B industry as a casual during my free time and I understand what it's like to have many walk-ins, making it hard to organise the seating, because you wouldn't want to turn away customers who actually are hungry, or want to support the business. For the staff member to treat us with hostility & absolutely 0 customer service, on a relatively quiet dinner shift, is a big red flag for me. I saw 1 or 2 reviews talking about how unfriendly a staff member is, and I can only assume we are talking about the same person. Thank you and I wish you all the best.

I had a quick dinner yesterday, it was all very tasty. Josh helped us choose the Chicken Sando and fried pickles - god damn they were moreish. The wine list was impressive with a small selection of unique picks and Josh’s recommendation was delicious. Friendly, helpful, and down to earth service. Thank you!

My partner ordered Uber eats one night and I was like $20 for 4 pieces of chicken? No thank you. When it was delivered I did what any girlfriend does and took a bite. Not only was it so juicy and the spices were amazing but they are really decent portions of chicken. It was so good we went out for dinner the NEXT NIGHT to eat in house. We booked and we were glad we did, I don’t think you’d be able to get a table if you didn’t. It’s been about 2 weeks since we went and I am still thinking about that chicken.

Fantastic Chicken that can give you a punch of spice if you want it. This place is always very full, especailly at lunch times.

Hot Damn! Love everything about Cheekies! The food was always a favourite from the time Cheekies have been operating out of Brklyn bar on Rundle street. The best Nashville style fried chicken in Adelaide! Fried chicken and waffles is a must have (could possibly have 2 waffles though). Love the fried pickles and chicken bites and the Mac and cheese is perfect to cut down the spice (if you're not into the heat). Perfect amount of heat on the medium but might try the 'Hot' next time (if I'm brave enough). Will try coming in for lunch to try the wrap but I can already confirm the Tacos are first class and my forever favourite! Love the interiors, tunes, vibes and the friendly service. It was great to finally meet the owner as well. Can't wait to come back for more:)

Very good got the medium heat chicken was crispy and amazing, table service waiter was polite and accommodating, all round good place to eat with a great vibe and atmosphere
