Cape Spencer Lighthouse reviews
32I was grateful to see the 360’ place so stunning and so beautiful in each corner. On the way to there I saw on the side of the road and then when I got to Cape Spencer I even saw kangaroos there how lucky I was
Worth the trip.
A short 350m walk gets you to the lighthouse with panoramic views which won't disappoint
Lighthouse itself isn't anything spectacular however the view from the elevated position is impressive, especially listening to the waves thunder in to the shore.
Highly recommended for a night visit. We drove about 3.5 hours to get there just for the night view and the photos were amazing with that lighthouse.
Just another wonderful old lighthouse in a beautiful lonely location. The walk out is easy and the view is fantastic.
While we were exploring Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park, we made a quick stop over at Cape Spencer Lighthouse. So much nature to see here. Stunning landscapes, unbelievable views, and a spectacular coastline. Worth paying a visit.
Cape Spencer Lighthouse is located in a great vantage point, where the lighthouse stands proudly on a rocky cliff overlooking the magnificent ocean and coastline. Standing at the foot of the lighthouse, the views here are simply breathtaking, with sweeping views of the rugged coastline and the sparkling blue waters of the Southern Ocean. It is the ideal location for photographers, nature lovers and anyone who appreciates the beauty of the natural world.
Another breathtakingly beautiful spot. The lighthouse itself isn't that interesting but does provide an opportunity for some great photos. You can't enter it. The views are incredible. It's a bit of a walk but not difficult.
Long but scenic drive to get to it. Great views but the lighthouse itself could do with some maintenance work.
A short walk with nice views. Car park is surprisingly small and only has a single bench. For the amount of traffic it gets these could be improved on.
A short 300 metre walk from the carpark, this lighthouse was originally built in the 1950's but has since been replaced with the current concrete structure. From here you also get a good view of the lighthouse on nearby Althorpe Island.
This place is just too beautiful. I’ve never seen such a beautiful view. On one side you see a rock formation while the other side gives you the beach with the road to the light house falling in between. Do visit this place when you get to the national park. You can even see kangaroos around. Best place to watch the sun set.
Another beauty you have to go to while in the Yorke Peninsula. The views are stunning. The light house itself has seen better days, but never the less, it's a great historical location to visit!
Nice drive to this lighthouse. We took the scenic coastal route. The views from here all around are stunning. Interesting history- well worth a visit if in Yorke Peninsula. The cost of $12 per day to experience Dhilba Guuranda Innes National Park is definitely worth it.
Great place for a drive from Adelaide. Very quiet and peaceful national park. Don’t forget purchase your entry online. Mobile signage is good here.
Absolutely stunning coastal views especially the cliffs leading up to the lighthouse, kangaroo's and other wildlife surrounding the walk, photographers dream, kids will love it but watch them closely for the dangerous cliff edges! Only a short walk from the carpark with interpretation sign at the start:) Ensure you purchase your national Park pass before you come as you can't purchase from the information centre!
So when you leave your car in the car park and take the gentle stroll to the lighthouse, look down at the path made of gypsum sand with big, bordering on huge crystals of gypsum. Amazing. The view was superb. The lighthouse was ok.
Cape Spencer Lighthouse is absolutely beautiful, it had amazing scenery and the short walk to the lighthouse was relaxing!
This place is a definitely stop if you love the beauty of the ocean, beaches, lighthouses and just relaxing in general. The carpark was only a 10 minute walk to the lighthouse and that was with us stopping at every point and reading the signs. There were people down at the beach which look like it was inaccessible due to no official tracks or markers but from the carpark, there seemed to be an unofficial track leading down to the hidden beaches.
Once you get to the lighthouse, there are signs that tell you the history of the lighthouse and also spectacular views all around.
Follow and join me on my next adventure!

We went up to the light house on a very interesting day. On a 30C day, as we approached, a massive fig drifted through. Yes, fog. On a 30C day. The temperature between ground sea level at 30C and at the light house 21C felt greater because of the strong wind. So, perhaps check the conditions when you go up or you may have very limited views. The tiny native flowers though, because they were next to the path, were well visible and beautiful. Keep an eye out for them.
