Cape Jervis Tavern And General Store reviews
49 The tavern and the general store are separate. The store has different opening hours to the tavern that is on Google. The store itself didn't have much inside.
The staff at the tavern were accommodating and did offer to get us something from the store even though it was closed. There are no other shops in the area.
The tavern appeared to be an establishment for locals as there were no other tourists in the venue when we visited.
We had fabulous service and delicious food. The bartender and locals were really helpful with advice and local knowledge. Really enjoyed the time spent there. We didn't stay at the accommodations, so I really can't comment.
Pleasant surroundings, went to watch the lawnmower racing a good day finished with beer at the tavern
Stopped in here after a few days on Kangaroo Island and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Super friendly service and really tasty food. Had the crumbed fish and it was quite good. Would definitely recommend if passing through before or after the ferry.
Located on the edge of the town, it is a quaint little store but had just what we wanted. The smallest size of hot chips was perfect and were well cooked. Also, service was great
Good little local store. Has lots of stuff including fuel pumps. Plenty of parking. Easy access. Staff is friendly.
Dropped in for lunch after some fishing with the family. Meals were great and staff were lovely and helpful. Pub is a little run down but still a great experience. Would go back again.
Good cooked food at the general store. The pies on the shelf were already expired. So we ordered freshly made chicken snitzel burger which is $9.90 per one. It’s pretty big and worth the price. You get an egg, bacon, and the chicken snitzel as well in the burger. The general store has some quick snacks and drinks you can buy off the shelf. The restaurant next door opens between 12-2pm and 5-7pm from what I remember. But you can use their washroom facility of needed. This is the only place to have some food after passing port Noarlunga. Plenty of parking at the place and they even have fuel.
Nice little fuel station and small supermarket. Last chance to fill up fuel before get on ferry.
With no where else to get food and a spontaneous trip here around lunch time we were desperate to fill our rumbling tummies and order some plain hamburgers for around $7 each. While we had to wait a while to have our order taken, and then for it to be cooked (which they apologised for), it was one of the best hamburgers (with salad and cheese - so not very plain thankfully) I've had in a very long time. A delightful find!
My wife and I ordered 3 pieces of King George Whiting and chips. The chips were terribly over cooked and dry. The Whiting was very small and the batter was very oily and obviously overcooked in very old oil. We were extremely disappointed.
The tavern is a well worn business. We ordered whiting and chips. In all honesty it was the worst feed we have ever had. The fish was in batter and it was cooked in very old oil and the oil was not hot enough as the fish was soaked with oil. The chips were inedible they were so dry and overcooked
Great fish and chips. Best burgers with the lot for value and flavour they rival H. J.s easily. We come all the way from Murray Bridge for them. Well worth it.
Fantastic classical venue, Thai food to die for.
Bar staff and local patrons are friendly and have a wealth of information about travelling to kangaroo island, if you’re a keen explorer this is a must stop, for refreshments and great food. But also get some local knowledge
The Thai food here is delicious and authentic. The Thai chef here can easily give one of the top Thai restaurants in Adelaide a run for their money!
Great value and great taste. Would highly recommend the green and red curry as well as the Penang curry (they all come along with plain rice. They also serve the usual pub meals but we did not like it much. Thai food can sometimes take about 30 minutes so plan accordingly.
The general store has a tavern, fuel pump and the usual essential supplies all in the one premises.
Phil was so accommodating! We had fun tonight and the food was decent and good. Loved the Thai meals too! They’re open until late which really saved us from starving tonight. Thanks Phil!
Lovely place to fuel up! Dated genuine country tavern with generous rolls! Surprisingly they also have some Asian ingredients available! I assume it will be helpful if you are camping and cooking for yourself
Love this place! Phil and Anita behind the bar were absolute champions and the locals were all legends.
We stayed here before going tuna fishing on a Saturday night, I have never been to a happier pub. Great vibes, super friendly locals, cold beer it was a great night. The rooms were simple and clean. We even got a tuna the next day.
Typical country style pub but the food is amazing and the drinks are cold. Highly recommend the Pad Thai or the steak as both were amazing.
