Canoe the Coorong- Guided kayaking tours & hire reviews
35What a relaxing and interesting day on the water and in the dunes! Our guide, Tom was super informative and set the tone for a highly enjoyable day. Lunch was excellent, on the beach. The gear is good and it's a smooth operation. Highly recommend it.
Brenton's River End Tour was such a fabulous day. I would highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys nature, a bit of adventure and wants to experience the natural wonderland of the Coorong up close. We saw so much birdlife and Brenton's knowledge was incredible. Pelicans, Egrets, Spoonbills, Grebes, ducks and so many tiny migratory wader birds.
The bush tucker walk through the dunes was incredible and taught us so much about the wisdom and knowledge of the Ngarrindjeri people.
Lunch was delicious local fish and native bush tucker and hot chocolates which the kids loved.
Thanks Brenton for sharing this incredible natural wonder with us. I've wanted to visit the Coorong since reading "Storm Boy" as a child and I'm so glad we saw it with "Canoe the Coorong" and not from afar on a tour boat.
Sarah as our guide did an awesome job & was so informative & cheerful. Yummy food as well (thanks Sarah for making tasty, fresh-cooked fish burgers too!). Special “shout out” to Brenton’s mum for the very tasty cookies & cakes!
A great tour experience & lots of beautiful nature to take in along the way.
An unforgettable family experience! My husband, our 11-year-old, and I had the pleasure of joining a sunset canoe tour that exceeded all expectations.
Despite the slight change in plans due to water levels and winds, Brenton and the tour guides handled everything with finesse, prioritising our safety while ensuring an incredible adventure. Their knowledge and enthusiasm made the trip truly enjoyable.
We were treated to a mesmerizing showcase of nature's wonders – spotting seals, admiring water birds, and even exploring the dunes of Goolwa beach. From dancing in the water to uncover pipis to tasting bushtucker, every moment was filled with excitement. The highlight? A breathtaking picnic in the dunes culminating in a serene sunset view.
Our family had an absolute blast and would wholeheartedly recommend this experience to anyone exploring the area. A huge thank you to Brenton and the fantastic guides for making this journey one to remember!
Great experience seeing the birds and then the sunset. Nice little picnic in the dunes. Not too difficult for a mid-60s couple with only a little canoeing experience. Our guide, Riley, was patient, helpful and knowledgeable. Would recommend.
Did a one-day trip with a guide, Leon - everything was fantastic. He knows his stuff, the area is fascinating, they fed us vegetarians quite nicely, the equipment is in excellent condition. We did a bit of paddling and a bit of hiking, and he'd have accommodated if we said we wanted more or less of one of those - in other words, he tailored what he gave us to what we seemed to want.
Great day out. I was very well looked after, Thank you Riley for your patience and kindness. I LOVE coming here. Birds abound. My happy place.
Absolutely loved this tour, great fun. Tom had local knowledge & talked about the birds & plants on our walk over the dunes. The supper was brilliant, local cheese, fruit, chocolate coated dried orange segment, homemade biscuit, dates, local wine yummy have to say this is the best supper we have had on any tour & we have done a lot of tours. Would highly recommend, well worth it. We also met some lovely people which is also a plus. Thanks heaps Tom
Thank you Canoe the Coorong for another fantastic day on the beautiful waters of the Coorong! We did the day tour in March 2020 with Brenton and today with Leon. Both guides were so knowlegeable about the land, vegetation, bird and animal life and the history of the area. Oh the stories, and meeting one of the local legendary old timers on the track was a bonus!
A memorable day. Perfect weather, relaxed pace and exceptional guide. Amazing to see the area in flood.
Great day tour! Tour guide is very friendly and provided lots of support and encouragement for first timers. Interesting experience to try out some local delicacies
We did the sunset tour last night and had a great time. The tour guides were both knowledgeable and lots of fun. Would highly recommend this as a great way to see this unique and scenic part of South Australia.
Wow what a wonderful sunset tour Sam our guide was amazing definetly knows his local knowledge. Pete and i loved our experience and the pinic was awesome with the touch of home cooking topped of our tour. Will be booking another next year.
We just completed the Sunset tour, was good fun, learnt a lot and got to see the River meet the ocean.
Walk around the dunes, some local knowledge then dinner, which was great and they catered for our GF daughter as well.
Great group of people and our guides, Tom & Tatt we’re really friendly and easy to talk to both really cheery positive people.
The family loved it
Will definitely do again one day,
The guided tour is such a great way to see the Coorong! The kayaking and cockling was great fun. It was a great way to bond as a family and enjoy the outdoors.
The Kayaking experience was good. The only reason I chose this tour was coz this was the only one that allowed 5yr olds. Our guide Jeff tried his best with whatever resources he had. The mosquitoes and flies gave us hell. The lunch stop we took was full of dead fish everywhere. Jeff was about to cook some fish for us, we chose not to. Not much of an appetite with dead rotten fish and flies everywhere. The beach we stopped at was covered with mountains of sea weed. Morning tea was some fruits and some biscuits. Lunch was quite below average as well. The only thing good was the cold coffee n chocolate in the heat. My 5 yr old had a great time though.
We were an 8 member group, with ages from 13 to 60. The tour was safe, extremely interesting, yummy food and a once in a lifetime experience (Murray flooding). Leon's (guide) indepth and personal knowledge was a unique perspective from the historical/ first nations peoples and environmental perspectives. Ably supported by Oscar (rescuing the wayward members of the group-teenage boys!), the whole day was more than expected and will be a truly treasured memory for my family. Thankyou all.
Great fun exploring the lower Murray. Was too windy to kayak normal spot so guide found a sheltered spot. My children (10 + 12yr olds) loved the trip. The guide was really good, was a young local with lots of knowledge about the local environment and indigenous culture. Great idea to break the tour up with a picnic in sand dunes. Would do tour again for sure.
A awesome experience to see the Murray mouth up close. Tom was a great host and made the trip easy and a lot fun.
What a great tour! The guide Jeff was amazing, food was delicious and organic! It is not only a fun tour but also very informative. You will learn the history and geographic knowledge of the area, animals, the plants and the indigenous communities. We loved it and would like to do it again!
