Cannelle French Pastries reviews
33 Really good pastries. So buttery and flakey! There's also parking at the back of the building for those who are worried about parking:)
We had the pan au Chocolat and the custard corneti
Will definitely be back!
Continues to have great pastries with the new owner. Some new things are being tried, eg, the danishes have a clear jelly coating, which is a bit thick and so looks odd. There are some new products: a Nutella cream filled pastry, which has too much filling. If you like pastry cream you might love it. My kids were delighted initially, but then gave up on it and ate around the filling.
Croissants are back on. I had an average experience here after the change of ownership, but went past this morning and grabbed a couple of plain croissants. They were fantastic. Looking forward to returning for my croissant fix.
Amazing French pastries and croissants, but you better arrive early in the morning as they sell out extremely fast. The service is super friendly, and they serve great coffee ️ too.
The Best Croissants in Adelaide! These croissants are light and buttery while also being flakey and the right amount of chewy! Many other treats in store to try also but for me it’s a classic croissant every time. Make sure to phone ahead if you want some because they seem to sell out quick!
Not great croissants, sorry to say. You can get some excellent ones in Adelaide but sadly not here.
They were good a few years ago but have since changed owners and are definitely missing the special something that made them once very nice.
I'll be taking my business to the opposition in the future.
I rarely write a review just to counter the reviews of people who don't take the time to get to know a legacy business like Canelle. They sell the best croissants in Adelaide, period. Those who have been going for years or even decades, would have known that there was a change in ownership between parties that had been in contact for a long time and knowing that the previous owner wouldn't have sold to someone they didn't trust with their recipe. And with change, comes a bit of adjustment. The difference in dough was due to external circumstances and was fixed by the current owner quickly. If you take the time to chat with him, he loves his trade, takes it very seriously and spends hard working hours none of us would want to work, to ensure that his baked goods come out as close to perfect as possible. He shouldn't be negatively impacted by a one-off experience. But frankly, for those who aren't going back: More croissants for us!
Not sure what’s going on.the croissant’s have changed not as flaky anymore and that beautiful nutty buttery taste is gone have you changed the recipe? Please change it back.
The croissants were doughy not flaky at all ended up throwing half of the dough. Should have bought bread. We tried pan au raisin almond, plain and danish… sadly we Regret…. My first and last never come back again.
We've been regulars for years however we've come here twise since it changed hands and unfortunately the pastries aren't the same. They aren't as flaky and doesn't have the same mouth feel. The coffee used to be amazing but today it tasted like milk and was barely warm. However the service was friendly. Unfortunately my crossant journey has come to an end, I miss you french man
Best croissant in Adelaide, hands down. Friendly service and a delicious coffee to wash it all down. Will be back ASAP!
What is there to say. The crossiants are amazing. Best you'll get.
Really enjoyed the French cola too.
Efficient and friendly service. Will definitely be back. Thank you!
One of the best croissants that I ever had!
Definitely the best croissants in Adelaide!
I recommend get there early because they sell out very fast
Heads up - you’ll have to get there really early to get anything. I’ve been a few times fairly early and still managed to miss out.
The store, food and the owner all feel very traditional French and that’s what I love about the place. It’s not overly mind-blowing instagram croissants, but subtle and cosy pastries.
Mouthwatering treats!
I lived in Paris for 5 years and this place had beaten the pastries even from there. The man who runs it lived in France all his life and learnt from the best.after one bite I could tell that was true. This is hands down the best crossiont and pastry place in town (probably the world) and I definitely recommend!
A local shop keeper recommended Cannelle to us and OMG thank you so much for the recommendation delicious coffee and croissants and being able to have a conversation with the boss/owner in french was the icing on the day mum wanted a genuine petit déjeuner for her 80th and it was superbe. Thank you so much
The crossiants are amazing! Freshly baked and beautiful. The gentleman at this patisserie was charming and a delight. Can't wait to eat for pastries again
If I could give 10 stars I would!
Best croissants ever. So light and fluffy. When i arrived, everything were sold out apart from a few plain croissants and some custard ones. But I was desperately after a chocolate croissants. The guys at the counter offered me free chocolate sticks so I could enjoy them with a plain croissant.
Very good croissants, but they re usually sold out before 9.30 pm! A bit pricey but i guess since they sold out so fast - why not:)
Thankyou to Cannelle for the beautiful pastries you sent to me at Seafood Works. They were delicious.
