Cafe De Vili's Hillcrest reviews
17 Sunday 28/1 absolutely appalling service. An hour wait for food, an hour. When the staff were telling people it would be a 15 minute wait.
If you'd said it was going to be an hour we would have gone elsewhere.
But by the time it was an hour everything else that wasn't cheap fast food was closed.
Absolute joke. Not that management seem to care as they haven't commented on any reviews.
Food is good, but service was just the worst.
The service was excellent but. I ordered a Snitzel and a Cheeseburger.the Snitzel and chips were above average but the mushroom gravy was the consistency of Nutella and a lacking flavour. The cheeseburger was not edible, I've seen better cheeseburgers in the frozen section of the supermarket but paid burger joint price for it. The patty did not look like mince meat but rather was layered like chipboard. I don't recommend them as you will do better at any other place you could go
A.
Why does pirate like to eat pie?
B. Because PIE RATING is in their job description.
Ive heard nothing but compliments about the quality of food with this firm.no case is to small for Central location with ample parking on street. I felt I was taken serious through out the whole process. Not just a number on a folder in a room. If your seeking genuine people with a sensible price tag at the end, I think
Bought a Brekky Combo sent it back after taking 20mins to get it the roll was burnt top and bottom and hard as a rock the next one was lovely. When ordering I was short changed by $10 the lad said he was tired I had to tell him how much change I should get out of a $50 note. All in all he seemed very disorganised I would hate to have seen it if it was busy, think I'll stay away during busy periods. I don't like the idea that they think everyone has bottomless pockets as a lot of things have no prices on them. We bought something that was priced otherwise we would have just walked out the door. In this time with a lot of people struggling with finances it helps to know what things cost. I don't like surprises at the checkout. I think management needs to look at this.
My new favourite spot! Awesome staff, food is always great and always enough room to sit and chat
Simple, yummy, comfort food. Our chips were fresh and tasty as was the rest of our meal. The location is great and it’s a lovely new building for casual dining. Easy parking. Kid friendly. Best of all was the service from the lovely Kate who went the extra mile with a good sense of humor to ensure our order was just how we liked it. Thanks Kate!
Total rip off i can buy a pie $1.50 cheaper at Woolworth Gilles Plains, Vili's have to deliver the goods there and pay a premium price to display. What an absolute joke.
Tried coffee a few times, ham and cheese croissant, toasted croissant. Coffee is very ordinary, feels like drinking frothy milk, Croissants were inconsistent- once soggy and once burned.
Not the kind of food expected from Vili's.
It's a nice new place and there's plenty of options. A little overpriced - a beef roll and two kranskis cost us over $30. There was also a mix up on our order and it took over 5 minutes to correct it.
Typical villi's cafe. Friendly prompt service clean inside room to move goid location.
Kitchener bun very dry and not very fresh. Served very cold which was strange. Meat pie was better, nice pastry.
Staff a lovely and quick to service. Not a long wait for orders. Love the convenience of trading 24 hours.
We have visited here 3 times with mixed results. Here are some of our experiences. I ordered a steak burger but it was drowning in mayonnaise - not enjoyable at all. I told the wait staff but doubt whether that feedback was passed on. It came with chips which were not salted. My wife ordered a roast meat baguette but it was littered with onion.and she is allergic to onion. My daughter ordered a potato pie with a green salad. 15 minutes after the order was taken, they told us there was no salad left. They offered coleslaw instead. We asked if it was super creamy because that would upset her tummy. The waitress said certainly not. But it was drowning in dressing and she could not eat it. Our guest ordered an AB for $22 but it was 90% chips. Last week, we bought a vanilla slice and it was $6.95.the most I've ever paid for a vanilla slice. Choc donut was $5.40.the most I've ever paid for a choc donut. A great concept store but clearly has a few teething issues.
What an amazing addition to the area - iconic cafe, great space/location, and delicious food
I don't know what it is about the local Hillcrest area, but there has been an explosion of food and businesses, and this place is a great addition
Where a great pie shop would be a safe bet, a 24 hour one is an absolute home run.
The food is delicious, the variety is unmatched and staff are focused on promptness alongside being friendly
This place is destined for success - definitely try it
Addit - ate here again, still great
Second time visiting. Service was lack-lustre. Food mediocre! (Schnitzel & pie floater) The floor and surroundings needed to be cleaned. Left feeling very dis-enchanted with the meal. Disappointed, as expected more from this new store!
Good nice clean shop, lovely staff. My food was cold and noticed people around me didn't eat all their food either. Didn't complain
Ordered the chicken schnitzel. I've never eaten such a dry piece of cardboard.they may be good for pies and pastries but other then that.don't bother!
