They told me I need to take eye test 3TIMES even I just want ONLY PRESCRIPTION for contacts. Also, a guy staff told me my eyesight is "TOXIC" when they asked me my eyesight. If my eyesight is good, I wouldn't wear contacts and ask eye test for prescription. I REALLY FELT UNCOMFORTABLE, so I went to another ophthalmology and yea I just needed only one eye test and could get my eyesight on the same day. I REALLY DON'T RECOMMEND HERE. My WORST experience in ophthalmology ever!

Happy to take your money and afterwards tell you that BYO frames are worked on with no guarantee over workmanship. If they inadvertently break your frames in the process they will not even refund the cost of the lenses and fitting. Furthermore, they would not provide me with someone to contact and provide this poor CX feedback to. I was told I'd receive a feedback email which I of course never received. Took my business elsewhere.

Very helpful and kind staff, however, the glasses selection is very small, limited and out of fashion

Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely young girl helped me pick some new glasses and was helpful and patient when I took a long time to decide. Very happy with the glasses she helped me choose. Great customer service

Jason (?) optometrist always very thorough and empathetic. Adjustment on recently purchased specs just completed quickly and with no fuss by Jenny.

I recently had an appointment Jason Lim, Optometrist, and I found him extremely knowledgeable and experienced. He resolved an issue with a lens prescription that 2 prior practitioners could not get right. I highly recommend Jason and Bupa Grenfell St Adelaide.

No issues with the staff or service. I found Dr Lim to be very friendly and helpful when I had my eyes tested before I got my first pair of glasses last year. If you have a high level of Bupa medical cover you can get a pretty decent pair of glasses here for no or very little cost as I did last year and again this year.

When I say "pretty decent" I am referring to last year's glasses but definitely not the most recent ones which this review is about and why I can only give 3 stars.

These new glasses give off a very strong and strange chemical-like odour which I now realise was due to the silicone nose pads which (in my opinion) are of low quality and most likely do not adhere to basic safety standards. On the 2 or 3 occasions I tried to wear them, I could not only smell the chemical -like odour prominently, but developed a headache which logically must be related. As a result, I was unable to wear them any further until I bought titanium nose pads (from an alternative source) to replace the silicone ones.

I note that during correspondence with BUPA Grenfell Street, they did offer replacement nose pads but they only offered (presumably the same) silicone nose pads.

I chose to post this review not only to let others be aware, but also hopefully to put a bit more pressure on Bupa so that they can do their due diligence and investigate this matter and ideally step up their quality control and safety standards.

Broke my glasses falling over in the street so returned to where I purchased them to see if they were able to be repaired. Initially doubtful the two lovely girls at the counter said they would give it a go and if they couldn't would offer me a discount on new pair. Being cynical, I thought for sure they wouldn't be fixed, so imagine my surprise when I went back and they were fixed AND for no charge. Great experience. Thanks girls and I'll be back.
