Build-A-Bear Workshop reviews
19When me and friend went to go get matching bears our service was horrible, she messed up the stitching and took so long to stuff the bears. Then when we went to do our birth certificates they weren’t working so we asked a helper to help us and she walked over to a different customer to help, instead of us. We walked into that shop at 12PM and left at 1: 30PM the customer service was horrible we thought that it would take half and hour not an HOUR AND A HALF.
I’ve been coming to this BAB for a very long time now, it’s one of my favourite stores but ever since this new manager started i think her name is Lucy.the displays have been appalling, customer service horrific and the same with quality of stuffing and stitching.she doesn’t even say hello when people walk through the door and it always feels like she’s trying to rush you out the store i will definitely be making the journey to tea tree plaza from now on because of her.
Rang the Marion store last Saturday to book a birthday party and asked by the store staff to leave a name and number to call back. I have been waiting 6 days for the call back but no one contact me. I will definitely change to other venues if my daughter isn’t insist to go there.
Great place, my friend and I went in the other night and got served by a lovely warm and welcoming girl (I think her name was Sinead). Was helpful answering my questions and a lovely personality, the two girls who were working there that night were amazing!
We didn’t know what to buy our great nieces and nephews for Christmas
Walked past build-a-bear and knew the kids would love it
As soon as we walked in we were greeted by 2 of the employees Phoebe and Heath
They were absolutely lovely
Phoebe also mentioned a we could get vouchers and receive an additional $5 for each child (we have 6 to buy for)
The store was super clean and everything was easy to reach
Will come back with the kids and might pick my own bear
Thank you for a great service
I am disappointed with this store, not with their items but marketing.
If you cannot put a price on an item, don’t sell it. You cannot expect customers to go through the whole experience of choosing, stuffing and birth certificate to be charged a different price.
The item I’m relating too is Oogie from Nightmare Before Christmas. An advertised price of $40. BUT there is no description whether you opt for the Green or Tan Oogie. Both Oogie’s are in the same bucket.
You go through the whole experience of selecting your bear with price displayed, have it filled with stuffing, followed by creating the birth certificate. Finally onto paying and then get charged a completely different price to what is displayed. Informing the salesperson there is an error in cost, only to inform me that due to colour it is dearer by $10. If there was a ticketed price of $50, the choice would have been mine on which Oogie to purchase. The ticked price did not differ on colour or appearance. As per usual, accessories are extra which is acceptable. The salesperson was able to contact the store manager only responding that the Tan Oogie is dearer and comes with a pair of dice. The dice are part of Oogie so wasn’t impressed with relayed message. Stated a ticket price aught to be displayed - $50. Due to not having any within the store, no ticket price is visible. This is a misleading item price. Both coloured fabrics should not be in the same bucket - misleading. Directly below displayed Oogie with price $40 - misleading.
Poor store manager response - dissapointing. Is there a pattern here - Yes. Being mislead and fobbed off is disappointing to customers.
Either the price displayed is what is charged or the item aught to be put away until a ticketed price is available. I’m certain this is their protocol. Not have an item but charge differently to ticketed tag.
So, customers do beware when in this store.

A positive word towards salesperson Stephanie, she was pleasant and understanding.
I went here yesterday and I made a bear (dog) and the lady was so lovely it’s just a very cute shop
I only go there every couple of years, it's expensive but my kids are as happy as a dog with two tales.
We've just come back from build a bear at lolipops what a poor experience. Not happy, my son is lucky it was pre paid or we would have just walked out.
Cant choose your bear, you can't build your bear, poor clothing choices not many to choose from. My son was less than impressed and that made our day just delightful.
The staff are amazing. Wehad birthday party at Marion Build a bear and the girl who looked after and store manager were great. Cant thank enough!
Too expensive the shop puts alot of stress on.the parents to buy i think the prices should come down the girls are good with the children though
Fantastic service, really lovely and welcoming and brilliant toys, smells and sounds. Cant wait to go back.
Fun way to personalise your own bear. Staff are very helpful too. Highly recommended for something unique.
We had our daughters 8th Birthday party at Build-A-Bear at Marion on Saturday 24/8/2019. The whole process of booking and making enquiries was a breeze. Liz was approachable and very helpful. On the day Zoe was our Party host. She did a fantastic job running the party. I bought in cupcakes and party bags, that was all I had to worry about. It was the easiest birthday party I have ever organised. Highly recommend having a Build-A-Bear party.
Loved the experience. Got a bear built for a great niece and had the most wonderful time choosing everything to go in and on the bear. Staff were just lovely and it certainly wasn't as expensive as i thought it might be. And we seemed to have one of everything.
Definitely still an adorable place.
Needs more variety of products to make people come back more often and please make the prices a bit cheaper for the accessories.
But the kids will always love going here.
:)
The shop was very busy today (Thursday 15th Nov, 2018) will most of the young parents with prams waiting in line for a publicity sale at this particular store (Marion, SA). There was no notice from this particular store why are they have this promotion. The line was nearly clogging up the pathway, a few people couldn't pass through. They should think before they promote this store again!
I was visiting this store a few months ago to find a canine breed that they had a few years ago but they didn't have it.
The prices are a bit extreme & the silly outfits they have on shelf. I'm not into those outfits. Its a bit over the top! I dress my REAL dogs every Christmas, Easter and their Birthdays!
Mia helped my 10month old son build a bear today, she was great
It was a lovely little experience
Sehr freundliches Personal. Hab zwar das Australian-T bekommen aber leider gibt es die blaue Jeansjacke momentan nicht
