Brighton Takeaway

Nicole located right by the jetty this place serves decent takeaway fish and chips. I had fish crumbed and a large chips. The large chips were enough for 5 adults and a few small kids. Crumbed fish was quite good. Chips a bit light on for chicken salt and not the best I’ve had (but ok). Service was a bit on the slow side. Someone with me bought the Greek salad which was quite good.

On vacation, I went to the seaside with friends to watch the sunset. Before dinner in the afternoon, I thought about buying some French fries to eat first. After entering, a Chinese shop assistant saw that we spoke Chinese. With a disdainful face, Throughout was a disdainful expression on the face. The tone is also very bad. It seems that he is the consumer. The good mood of the day is gone here.

Portions are huge for the price - $13 for large chips which could easily feed a family of 4 (and I'm a big eater). $7 for a piece of fish and $2 each for squid rings are also great value.

The oil mustn't be hot enough because everything was very oily and overcooked. Very crunchy chips, and not in a good way.

We ordered grilled and crumbed fish, chips, a chicko roll and potato cake. The fish tasted nice, but they didn't put salt on the chips, the potato cake tasted like cardboard and they gave us a spring roll instead of a chicko roll. We also both had symptoms of food poisoning after eating here.

Despite the mixed reviews we took our chances. The food was good. It was a hot night and the area was busy so they warned us of the wait time. I'd say to the one star reviewers, if you don't want greasy food you probably shouldn't be buying fish and chips. For those complaining about the wait time, go walk to the end of the jetty and back.

I had ordered chips yesterday and the only thing that I can say about them is that they were not good! I threw them out before finishing them! Such a waste of food! Being a takeaway shop close to the beach most would expect the chips to be good but they aren't. Don't waste your money here!

Absolutely deplorable. Phone number doesn't work and even sent a message days b4hand, and no reply. Go in today and the lady argued with me that I was doing it wrong. Firstly make sure your website contact details are correct. Secondly, stop making excuses and just fix it or hey give out the phone number. And last but certainly not least what fish n chip shop doesn't do hamburgers or steak sandwiches. I hope you have the decency to respond to this message.

We ordered fish and chips tonight and it was absolutely delicious. 3 young staff members were on and they were so polite and efficient.

Ordered fish and chips and coffee for two.
One of the freshest chips I have had, just a beautiful fresh crisp flavour. Good service and the coffee taste great.
My coffee was slightly too hot so a thermometer can make it perfection but I can’t rate lower as I enjoyed it so much!

Absolutely worst fish and chips we've ever had tonight. Chips were barely cooked, fish still had gross skin on it. Don't go here, ignore the queue out the door and find somewhere else for dinner.

Not bad, not great. 3 stars is justified. Great spot they have and always busy so worth a try. No vegan food options for misses which stops me from going more often.

Totally over priced! Really rude staff (they clearly didn’t want to be there). Wouldn’t recommend. Lift your game guys

Chip left a lot to be desired. Our order of extra chicken salt chips were chronically lacking in the salt department

$30 for essentially a single serve of chips, some chicken nuggs, drink and gravy. Gravy wasn't filled even half way in the container. Chips were undercooked and zero crunch. Legit, some uneatable. You can't be charging those prices for a inferior product and cutting quantity.

The guy making the chips was amazing! Super nice and gave us extra fish, went to the effort to divide our meal up for us! Thank you!

Used to love coming down here for fish and chips, and since it’s changed owners not a big fan anymore. Gonna have to find a new local fish and chips at Brighton. Also lacking customer service.

Small serve of food for $24 fish and chips were swimming in oil. Not a very enjoyable experience.

Great location, asked for extra salt on chips. May as well have just thrown bread crumbs on my chips. Busy place and 1 poor bloke serving and wrapping food. Sort it out.
