Absolutely Disgusting!

My elderly mothers bathroom fan stopped working, and the wall switch was a little bit dicky as well. Her fan was a unit with the 2 heat lamps and a centre light and all the globes worked.

For the centre light I had a put in a fairly expensive Philips bright white LED globe as it's a fairly dull room. The globe valued at approx $40 so not a cheap globe.

Yesterday they came and replaced the dicky switch with a white switch on a cream panel (didn't ask if that was ok or offer to find the correct colour) then they put a new fan and facia panel in and which was fine, but then they have used the old heat lamps and taken the new ones that came with the fan unit, but then they have also taken the expensive LED centre globe and left the cheap dull centre light that comes with it in there.
They didn't ask if she wanted to use our existing globes or even wanted to keep them. My mother didn't think to check the lights as they were there to fix the fan not the lights once she discovered it, we thought maybe it was an honest mistake.

So the following day (today) first thing she called them to advise that we weren't happy with centre globe that is now in her bathroom and that we want the bright Philips LED light that was in there back.

But no, not that simple.initially they denied they had taken it and then stated it's their policy to take all old items with them (even though they put the old heat lamps back in) she said that wasn't good enough, so they said they will get a manager to give her a call. About 5mins she recieves a call back from the manager saying it will be dropped off later this afternoon. No worries, right?

At 4: 50pm she had not had the globe brought back or heard anything from them, so my mother decided she would ring them to find out what is happening or if they are coming today.
The bloke who answered the phone said they're not coming and when asked why he stated that the globe has been disposed of the and it's just "bad luck" to which she then replied with "that's not good enough, you need to replace it as you had no right to take it" which they responded with "NO that's not how we operate" and then hung up on her.

So to sum this all up we're now another $40 out of pocket because I now have to go out and buy a replacement globe and also have one miscoloured switch on the wall.

This electrical services company is the most rude, unprofessional and dishonest service I have come across and if I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely zero customer service.

I DO NOT AND NEVER WILL RECOMMEND BMS ELECTRICAL TO ANYONE.

I have partially edited this review, however it will not be taken down.

If your electricians can't tell the difference between a standard no brand 650 lumen globe and a branded Phillips 2500 lumen LED globe then that is a problem in itself. I have now had to replace this globe at my expense, maybe in future you should ask if people would like to keep their old globes to prevent problems like this. The one that was supplied was most certainly an inferior product. Maybe we can put that down to your below average customer service, and the fact that my mother is "tenant" should make no difference to the quality of the work performed or how she was treated on this occasion or do you make a habit of hanging up on anyone that has an issue?

It was my first time using BMS & it definitely won’t be the last. I had my lights changed to LEDs & it’s made a world of a difference, very impressed. The electricians were prompt, very polite & cleaned up after themselves (A huge plus for these tradies).

I have used BMS many times and recntly and recently I had Riley visit to replace some down light tracks. A great job at a great price. I will not use any other company and can highly recommend BMS

Nathan did a brilliant job. Couldn't have asked for a better outcome. Everyone at BMS is knowledgeable, helpful, could fix any problem, great with solution suggestions, lots of useful advice and very patient with all my questions. I found them by random searching on the internet and am so grateful that I had them do the work for me. Couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Great group of electricians, showed up on time, punctual, clean and professional. They were very friendly and happy to explain in detail the work that needed to be done and how they would go about it. Will definitely be using them again for any future electrical works

Called the office to booked an electrician to install a light. Nathan and his apprentice was fantastic. Quality work at a reasonable price. Highly recommend.

When I needed electrical services, I had NO idea who to go to - and mentioned this to my sister, who recommended BMS as she'd engaged them and was happy with their service. (Thx sis!) BMS were great - I never met F2F as I live interstate. But some work needed to be done on my modest unit which is tenanted. In every way, they were so very helpful - recommending products (smoke alarm and rangehood) ; keeping me informed about progress (ie delays in supply during these covid times and a hiccup due to dodgy work done b4 I took ownership) and liaising with my tenant on my behalf when doing the work. Everything was handled professionally. Thank you.

WARNING Disgusting electrical business, the rates they charge are over the top. The electrician I had told me he was still an apprentice and said how much he hated working for this company, please do yourself a favour and choose a local business.

Being an Adelaide Property Manager occasionally we need to do emergency Callouts. I booked an emergency callout on Christmas day, spoke to the very friendly After hours contact who booked the job took all mine and the Tenants details. 10 minutes later the Tenant receives a text advising their boss has said "they are not the electricians for our company and they are not required to attend the call out " they certainly now wont ever be the electricians for our company. Why advertise 24 hour call out?

Terrible expierence.their electricians don't know what they are doing.they drilled into my gas pipe.destroyed my brand new kitchen with their drill.quote was a lie they charged way higher and they don't tell you before they start working they do it after so you have no other option.nightmare

Great service! Had an electrician at my house 1 hr 15 min after I called them about losing power. He identified the problem and even called strata after hours service to explain the problem. 30 minutes later SA Power Networks rocked up and confirmed the fault. The electrician from BMS ended up fixing the problem and restoring the power. I will only be using these guys from now on.

BMS Electrical have been servicing my commercial and domestic electrical needs for several years. Their staff are always extremely helpful and they discuss and explain my requirements in a language I understand. They are professional, up to date with current technology (specifically in my requirements for my business), professional, prompt and competitive. I have no hesitation in recommending them - especially being a woman - I appreciate not being taken for a ride! Thanks BMS team - you rock!
