Blue Lake Scenic View Tower reviews
39I love Mnt Gambier and the surrounding country areas. They are a beautiful scenic places that have a lot to offer the tourists young and aged.
Lush green arund, good parking at all locations and points, nice walking track, many view points, lake is realy blue, I visited on 7 july 2022, many selfy locations, its worth to visit with family and friends, next to lake there is tower house at very good height, you can see whole mount gambier from there.
Very nice view of the water pump and the beautiful blue lake. There is the rock wall lookout and another lookout over a smaller lake.
Fantastic, even with the misty rain showers. Walk was not overly hard. I have a bone on bone knee and still managed to enjoy the walk. Just took it steady. But so worth the effort. 3rd photo is looking down on pathway towards obelisk of Adam Lindsay Gordon.
Beautiful Blue Lake - over a dormant volcano. The lookout is very convenient. Try to avoid crossing the road and use the stairs instead. They will take you to the lookout. So cool to see people's wishes and blessings to their loved ones (locks) - although it does pose a danger of that structure collapsing if it gets too heavy.
Stunning and breathtaking view. Absolutely loved walking around the lake and see the scenery. It's one of those places that you don't get tired of it.
Spectacular view still, as the lake is still blue.
Normally it is losing its colour by now.
We were interested to find out about the origins of the lake. It is worth driving to a lookout to check it out! The blue colour of the lake is very unique.
Nice view from the provided platform overlooking the lake.
Small parking spot across the road, use the underpass to access safely.worth visit.
Beautiful view of Blue lake from this look out and within walking distance to Blue lake holiday park. Plenty of parking available. Pack a picnic lunch and sit by the park to enjoy the view.
Small carpark. The kids enjoyed going through the 'tunnel' and over to the other look out closer to the lake as well as going right up the top of the lookout tower
Its soooo blue its electric. Only blue between Nov and March! The road leads all the way around the lake to offer many veiwing points. Just sooo blue, stunning
Stunning views. Beautiful spot. Definitely worth the trip.
A bit of planking off the main road. Not heaps. Wasn’t too hard to get a spot. Lots of places to get a good view. Via the underpass or from the viewing platform up the stairs. So many stairs.
The water looked so silky and blue.
The lovelocks was a cute little find too.
Unfortunately raining so the lake isn't looking so blue in my pics but we've been previously and it's a lovely little scenic lookout not far to walk.
Saw a very unique view in a cloudy day. The lake was dark deep blue, rather than the ocean blue, which I’d call it ‘ink blue’. Very stunning
The Rook.
Not quite a tower, not even a bastion, just a rook. A beautiful piece of romantic architecture, built from local stone, to finish the contoured retaining wall made into a raised walkway.
Look is needing a bit of attention by the council. I think blue lake attracts more visitors and having better maintained walkways, signboards, hand rails etc, including lowering the speed on t edge road.
Removing the parking and providing parking away from there will be some more safe and people will have nice walk and kids can have exploration.
A lovely place to spend a day. There are 3 lakes and picnic and play ground areas. Free electric BBQs and toilet facilities as well.
Beautiful lake and the stairs and grass are well kept. Not far from town so well worth seeing. My elderly mum came out from Sydney to see it in the 1950s and came with us this time. She said it's just as beautiful and she'll never forget it.
The kids enjoyed climbing on the rocks and exploring. There are quite a few steps but you can take your time. You can just stay at the bottom and get a great view too.
Terrific little look out, great views of the lake.
Some serious steps and they can be quite steep so not suitable for people with mobility issues or strollers. But you could carry a toddler up or down the steps of you need as they are not very long.
Carpark is small but usually enough to get a park.
A few signs to learn about the geology of the area and the use of the blue lake.
Worth a stop, take your camera.
