This Bistro was once a lovely place to eat. Unfortunately the food is not as good & prices have increased. We were there for a dinner meeting. My meal of roast pork was below par. The meat was not freshly cooked. Another had roast pork where the meat was dry & like leather accompanied by burnt (black) cauliflower & carrots. A 3rd meal of 4 sliders was burnt black both top & bottom. Whilst we may continue to meet there we will not be dining. What's gone wrong?

Food is delicious but the service is terrible! Waited over 20 minutes for a kids jelly. Bar guy said he would bring it over and proceeded to go clean tables even though it wasn't busy. He fumbled around with the register with ordering, spoke too quietly and mumbled everything. Also had no welcoming personality. We are local and this service is a disgrace to our town. Not good enough. Support small business, not these guys. We won't be back.

Went here for dinner. Table water tasted so awful we all took a sip and no more. Yuk! The beef schnitzel was made with tough meat, not pleasant. The steak sanger was good and hubby enjoyed it. The kids mini cheeseburgers were okay but not great!

First time we have ever just walked out of somewhere and left our plates almost full. Normally I would say something but this time hubby was unfortunately to annoyed as our meals were awful. Ordered the steak and chicken schnitzel. Chicken was extremely dry, steak came out first and schnitzel didn't come out for a good 10 mins after that. Chips were dry and like they had been cooked an hour ago. It seemed whoever was cooking was only able to do one meal at a time. Also people who ordered after us received their meals first. Staff were friendly
though and atmosphere was nice.

Steak was great! Lamb ribs and squid were also tasty. Reasonable price with good service. Will come back again.

Had lunch here today. Ordered steaks. My dad ordered the most expensive one at $52 for an eye fillet. Ordered it well done. It come out and it smelt horrid. Like rotten horrid. Dad tried to have a bite couldn’t do it. We told them it was uneatable and they said oh a couple more have gone out today and offered us a free coffee or soft drink. I don’t think that’s appropriate at all. And they didn’t care at all. Definitely don’t recommend. Partner asked for vegetables and got salad
Not kid friendly neither.

We stopped in here for dinner last night. After a few hiccups with ordering (a new app where we benefitted with a discount) the staff honoured the discount regardless.
I ordered a steak and I am fussy. My steak was cooked exactly as I asked for. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food came out in a timely manner.
I would definitely go back.
Until the 7/9/23 they have half price on meals ordered between 5 and 6. Makes for a cheaper night, great atmosphere and lovely food.

Dined for lunch on a Monday in winter. The fire was going so it was very cosy and inviting. Ashlee served us, she was warm and friendly and the food was excellent. Can recommend the lamb ribs, compliments to the chef!

I always love coming here, with a group of girlfriends, family, or just the kids and I. Always affordable and a great menu

Meals were dismal. The vegetables on the side comprised of a few pieces of sad looking broccolini. Roast looked like it had been reheated too many times somehow, inch of water sitting in the dish the vegetables were in. Steak sandwich I would not of complained about, if I had bought it from a food van, except it cost nearly 30 dollars. Not to mention we waited over an hour for our meals. Table beside had been waiting for about the same time, only to receive meals as we were leaving. Staff were friendly and understanding enough to warrant 2 stars. Hope it improves soon…

The food was ok! Friend received their meal first and the rest of us waited 25min after they had finished.

I ordered a small schnitzel which came with chips and salad which I was told (by I assume was the manager) that would be about the size of a side plate. When it arrived it was I thin sliver triangle of schnitzel which was 2 inches wide at the widest part and about 5 inches long with no salad and luke warm chips. After me saying to waitress it wasn't good enough "the manager" (original person who served me) came over and admitted it was too small and replaced it with a proper sized serve with salad. I was also given a complimentary glass of wine which was a good gesture. The meal itself was quite good. My husband said his meal was mediocre.

Poor value for a very average pub meal. The steak was so thin it would be suitable for a steak sandwich. So thin, it couldn’t be cooked medium rare. No chips, no veggies, no salad. There were 3 boiled plain baby potatoes squashed under the steak with a few sticks of asparagus on top. It tasted okay, but not close to what most can cook at home so very poor value for money. It was a small meal on the plate, so I had a sandwich when I got home. The hotel was busy, but keep serving rubbish, and people will eventually turn away and managers will blame everything else instead of what’s staring at them on the plate. I had recently been advised not to go there for a meal, but had varying but reasonable meals previously. Lucky for them, COVID came so they can stop the self-serve salads, but don’t serve any salads with the meal. There’s a saving. It used to be a great pub with good sized meals not that long ago. Some staff were lacking the usual lustre. One bar staff ignores me standing at the bar, apparently to wait for the young girls to approach the bar. Another staff member glosses over waiting customers to leave the area and left customers waiting. One thing about poor service, everyone notices.

Great staff.super friendly and even dealing with the restrictions management put on them they are wonderful. Must recommend the place not only for the service but the atmosphere.

As country pub style meals go, this is at the higher end. Food was very good and of a sensible portion size, not excessive as some hotel meals can be. Meal prices were good value. The schnitzel was real chicken breast, not compressed chicken. Satay chicken skewers were very tasty. Service was average, with 40 mins from order to table, plus adjacent tables were not cleared. Good atmosphere, with plenty of room and not too noisy. A family style pub, well suited for kids, compared to Bushman's Arms which was the more "trendy" hotel in Naracoorte.

Absolute amazing feed, hood beer and an amazing scenery. I loved that the staff allowed my puppy in the beer garden with me was muchly appreciated.
The overall experience was lovely if in the area again will be back!
