Big Winch Lookout reviews
53 Probably one of the better places in Coober Pedy to eat, although that's not saying very much at all.
In any other town this would be 2 stars
Food is ok. View is very nice.
There is rubbish everywhere on the terrace, and a atmosphere of some neglect.
Great view. Great decor. Slightly disappointing that it was closed for a private function on Friday night. Then when we returned the following night at 5.30, we were told we couldn't sit outside due to the area being completely booked for 6pm. At 6.20 there was still noone out there. We left and ate dinner elsewhere.
Highly recommend JPB!
Enjoyed Big Wench 360 restaurant. It is centrally located in town and one of the key places to visit. Along with a great spread of food, it also offers a 360 degree view from the outside seating area.
Menu options offer sea food and Italian dishes with a decent mix of tap beer and drinks. Food portions are decent.
You can book a table prior to 5pm for the night otherwise it will be a walkin.
The venue provides spectacular views of Coober Pedy.
The food was excellent. Service was nice.
There is a sign that says free wifi. However, the staff did not know the password.
The biggest highlight is that you can watch the sunset while dining. If you come to Coober Pedy, you can come here for dinner.
The ingredients used in the meals are solid and the taste is very rich.
However, the fruit milkshake is a bit bland, which is a pity.
Lovely place to have dinner, we walked in on a weekend and we were seated very fast. We do however realise now we should of booked in advance but that was our fault for not thinking ahead. If you want an outside seat be sure to reserve it ahead of time. The place had very friendly stuff and the food was fantastic.
The lookout has a great view to see the entire town.
It has a good view over Coober Pedy and the horizon to watch the sunset. The coffee and snack items are not too badly priced. You can also do dinner and lunch with inside and outside tables. Note the outside book up and are popular around sunset.
Amazing culinary experience! Beautiful place, food and staff. Wonderful gifts to pick up too. Add this to your list for any type of break
Had a fantastic lunch here. Good coffee too. The reastrant is licensed so a schooner or wine if you choose. The staff were friendly and helpful.
We feel lucky we chose this place.
Unfortunately the cinema was closed over the holidays when I visited the Big Winch 360. Nevertheless the view was breathtaking and the village was absolutely unique.
The food was very nice as we look at the sunset. Love the creamy prawn rice and learned a lot of history of the road that connects Adelaide to Coober Pedy. Love it very much! Must go there.
Fabulous location with excellent food! A very popular place to watch the sunset over Coober Pedy!
A lovely spot to have dinner and watch the sunset! Lovely atmosphere, staff are very friendly and food was delicious and fresh - big portions too. It’s well worth going to, to look across Coober Pedy and the fact that it’s a great dinner spot is a bonus!
Best place in Coober Pedy, felt like it could have been anywhere. Nice fresh tasting food that was prepared well. The setting is pleasant and it definitely feels like an oasis in a desert.
Amazing sunset views
Tasty salad full of flavour.had burgers and spaghetti bolognase kids size was very large serving.
Great service only downside is that 8pm kitchen closes like most areas there
We had our "Thanksgiving dinner here today and the food was terrific. A big enough menu to satisfy almost everyone. Their cheesey garlic bread was to die for! Probably the best sunset view in Coober Pedy. Might need reservations in busier time of year. Really good value also.
Great food (the massive kid's meal pictured) with amazing service. We were there for Sunday lunch and had the Lamb Yiros with my young daughters Chicken tenders and chips.
Impossible to fault. Thanks. See you next time we're in town.
Come for the view. Stay for the food. Chat about the history & have a good time. The food was delicious & service was fast & friendly. The view is Amazing! Don't miss this. Call to reserve.
Amazing views with amazing food to match. Was given the recommendation to dine here by my accommodation. The food was delicious and at a reasonable price considering the remoteness of Coober Pedy.
Lovely place to visit but I found the meals that we had (Spaghetti & Risotto) a little to thick and dry for my liking. Other meals looked ok.
