Belair Hotel reviews
56Chicken Parmigiana was nice, chips good but the eggplant parmigiana was abysmal, borderline inedible, under cooked eggplant is never a good idea. And the crumb was awful.this needs to be improved. The dessert, apple crumble was nice but the serving was pathetic for $12 it was literally 4 tablespoons. I've been to this pub before many times and it's always been ok but was not impressed with food this time around.
Group of us attended Tuesday Quiz night, two vegan parmi’s served completely cold, friends squid had no salt or pepper and was served with an elastic band in the salad. Have been 5 times for dinner, not a great place to eat dinner and especially for high pub menu cost.
Service was fantastic. Food was disappointing. We've been previously and always had good food so hopefully today was just an anomaly.
Lovely lamb burger. Very family friendly. Service was very slow though. 20 mins for kids ice-cream was a bit much
Nice venue don't expect the food to be as good as the views to the hills, as all 3 dishes pretty boring
I hadn't been there for long time but this hotel is really good. A great place to bring kids as well. The food was generous and tasty. The service very friendly.
We went for Christmas Lunch today (21 of us). I was very dissapointed.my gravy, pumpkin, and Yorkshire pudding was cold Yorkshire pudding was also burnt.beans were very hard.and the turkey was one big thick slice! So left most of it. I asked staff about 2 things not on the plate but on the menu.to be told its last years menu!
Birthday dinner and very disappointing food. Pasta dish with prawns and blue swimmer crab. 3 prawns and think the crab was still swimming in the ocean
None in the bowl. Medium rare steak must have passed through a crematorium on the way to the table. And the pork belly was a Jenny Craig Piggery special. A polite mention was made to the staff when said they would " pass on " the message. Come on guys. What about an apology of offer of another meal. Hit and miss for decent food that is more expensive than better venues.
Staff were rude. Arrived at 5pm so children could get fed early but did not receive dinner until 6.55. People who arrived later, fed first. Meals were expensive without being good quality. Staff refused to serve one of our table because no mask, even though she stated she has asthma, fair enough. Staff however wore masks without covering their nose or some only had masks on their chin.
My fish was not thawed properly and was watery even though it was battered
Had my 18th here - event manager was so friendly and accommodating, flexible and was available last minute for changes etc. Great venue with amazing food, so
glad I had it here!
Had a small function here in the function room. Views were quite good, staff were very friendly, polite, and accommodating. There were a couple of gluten intolerant and vegan meals and chefs happily made different meals for them. Lunch was tasty and dessert was delicious.
Meals took forever to be delivered to table.
Over priced & incomplete orders, which the waiting staff were unsure to sort out
The new bartender was really nice, helpful and friendly and apologised for being new and slow (even though he wasn't).
Great wine selection.
Good selection of food, including a whole vegan section.
We had live music and he was great.
Very good food with a wonderful ambiance, just renovated and carpeted so quieter than tiled floors, good for talking
While the duck was beautifully cooked, the vegetables were an epic fail. 2 index finger sized pieces of celeriac fondant and a small wedge of badly poached pear #$@! I'm starving.
Lovely lunch here, but please fix the acoustics. It's too loud to have a conversation with the person next to me, even more impossible with those further away on the table. Food delicious, view out the w8ndow quite astoundingly beautiful, but all totally overshadowed by the decibel level.
Very disappointed with Mother's Day Lunch.
Being a local I visit the Belair Hotel on many occasions & usually have had nice meals.
The set menu on mother's day was terrible. The shared entree plate was cold & chewy food.
The mains majority of our 12 people table had steaks that were inedible, very chewy, cold & every steak cooked incorrectly.
Desert plate was also a let down.
Most food was sent back barely touched, we all left hungry.
I explained my dissatisfaction to the manager & she told me there was similar feedback from other tables also. She explained the kitchen had new staff, which is not a valid reason for this poor experience.
The food was obviously cooked long before the lunch, left under the heat light & poor quality.
It is very disappointing to write this review as I am all about supporting local but it put a real damper on our groups mother's day.
I was also told 3 times when I booked it was $55 a head then on the day the price was $65.
The manager did offer us 25% off the bill but when we paid the staff charged half our table full price which caused more frustration.
It is a shame to see this pub going down hill.
I suggest making changes swiftly to avoid losing more local business. Goodluck!
What a wonderful place to spend easter lunch.the staff were friendly and extremely helpful and the meals were wonderful. Our grandson loved the playroom and playground attached will definitely be eating here again.
Fabulous hotel - first time visiting and will definitely be back. Great food, great atmosphere and we had such a lovely night. The staff were fabulous!
Great food and service. Loved the view from the bistro all day dining is fantastic! Kids area is great too. A great place to stop for a meal:)
