BBQ City reviews
48We had seafood hot pot, sweet sour fish, salt n pepper squid, fried rice and bottle of Riesling for $200. Good food and quick service, can't beat that.
I have been eating here for many years and it never disappoints. Fast service, great food at very keen prices. Definately on my go to list when in Adelaide.
How disgusting. Dying fish locked up in a tiny tank in a restaurant full of staff just walking past.
This place is not authenticate Cantonese restaurant and cannot be advertised as such as well. I was even served "warm" food. The explanation from the waitress was it had been left on the kitchen bench for a while. The Peking Duck was miserable, and subsequent duck fried rice was way too salty. Lemon in Adelaide mid be very expensive, because there was only half thin slice of lemon in my lemon tea and the taste was bland. I will not go back for a second time.
Great food, consistent quality, good value. Love eating outside when weather permits and watch the world go by.
Still one of the best value and quality in Adelaide even if decour is not 5 star - but the food is. The chipped formica tables are just part of the charm. Get the 3 meats platter or the salt and pepper squid.that's our go to dishes but others are all good.
We tried bbq pork, roast pork and chicken rice and chicken laksa. As its name, the bbq food is very good, but the laksa is not authentic laksa. It is more like curry.
Amazing service! After waiting quite a while we thought our order was taking long because it was so big. After inquiring they quickly realised that our order was lost and immediately did everything the could to rectify! It was great to ‘actually’ see the staff running around, back and forth between us and the restaurant, making sure everything was alright. No word of a lie, our food came within 5mins followed by every other dish less then 2mins behind the last! Even got complimentary!
Two meals were made in one effort and divided unevenly by the kitchen. One finished with all beef gone and loads of rice left and the other finished in the opposite way. Very little taste of the beef - it can hardly be called a Chinese meal but more likely a modified meal for the locals. What a definition of disappointment!
Great value for money. Very very wide range of choices, from bbq meat to stir-fty, seafood, soup and more. Laksa soup with BBQ duck is a brilliant Asian combination. However, some soups are not served hot sometimes.
We came here during the frantic celebrations of the lunar New Year Street party as a party of 8. We were seated within minutes even though we didn't have a booking and the place was to capacity. Food came out very quickly. We were very impressed at how organised bbq city was for the event. Food is always nice and reasonably priced. The staff have always been nice to us and our young children. This eatery is high on our list of regular places to eat. Great work bbq city!
One of my favourite places to eat in Adelaide. I've been coming here since I was a little kid and love the casual atmosphere. The food is consistantly delicious and you never have to wait long for it. Meeting here with a few friends and sharing a feast always turns out to be satisfying and cheap. Great location too.
Great food but the service is disgusting.ordered some dumplings and asked how many servings one plate of dumplings would have but instead of just giving a straight up answer, the lady had to raise her voice and claim that she "didn't know how many dumplings were in each dish". This doesnt sound like too big of an issue but just the way they approach their customers is extremely rude.
Always good food, quick service. Just don't expect chit chat and small talk. Great food open 7 days. Been visiting on off for 16 years.
Sometimes you just want super fast get you in and get you out service. Cheap Chinese food with dirty and outdated decor, specials handwritten and stuck to the walls which have look like they have been there since day dot. The BBQ meats are a must when you come here.
This is a fun, cheerful and cheap place with a great menu. Fast and friendly service with some great things in the menu! The duck is excellent.and the greens beans super yummy! We got there quite late.just before 10pm on a Wednesday evening and the placed was packed! I loved this experience and is also in a fun part of Chinatown!
Who hasn't been here!? Good BBQ pork and other roastings. Not the best but good. That's what I normally come here for.
Cheap and cheerful. Food is excellent and fast once you have ordered. Service is okay but that is expected for the price point. Roast duck is
Good food but terrible customer service. Staff not friendly at all. I said thank you to the waitress for bringing out food and she did not respond. Son fell off his chair but non of the staff could be bothered to check if he was ok. Lights and ceiling fans are covered in dust. Looks like they haven't been cleaned in years
Food is ok. But the ladies at the counter are not very nice to deal with. They show bad attitude when it comes to costumer service.if paying by card and if its less than 20 dollars be prepared! They also get ungry when doing separate bills. Almost get hit once.
