Bay's Vietnamese Cuisine reviews
18Such an amazing meal and such lovely staff! I cannot wait to come here again. The vegan soup was amazing!
Food tastes fine, but I just have one question. Do you feel alright to hire a reception staff who treats Asian customers extremely awful when they order? (A young female with glasses and dyed hair) She acted so mean when I was telling her what I want. I understand the food court is so crowded and noisy, she may not be able to hear me well but why would you be that impatient and even say “parrrrrrrdon? ”(yes that’s the way she speak, so unnatural and intentional, I do feel being provoked)I couldn’t stand this so I just left without further ordering. This actually happened more than once, the way she treat local Australian people is completely different. I used to see another Asian woman had the same situation, but this staff instantly changed to a nice face when there was a white people. I hate to bring this out, but you really make me think of racism. This is so hilarious, imagine you did this to Asian people while you also have an Asian face and your restaurant is actually opening in Chinatown.
REPLY TO YOUR FEEDBACK:
To be honest, I don’t feel any sorry from your reply as the whole point of your reply is trying to make excuses for your staff’s racism and rudeness.
To everyone else who would be there: If you take couple of minutes to stay around their reception desk, you will see how different that female reception staff act (just this specific one as I mentioned above, I didn't say all of them) when there is especially an Asian customer who can not really speak English well.
Besides, as you mentioned that your staff is still trying to learn English. From what I see, that staff actually feel so much confident about her English, so she seems unable to tolerate others who can’t speak English well. I don’t see the any point to have such meaningless superiority, especially when your job is serving customers. My personal advice is: She doesn’t really need to improve her English, instead she needs to improve her manners.
I will never come to your restaurant as I don’t feel any sincerity from your so-called apology. If you truly feel sorry for this issue, just stop denying it and start to do something concrete to eliminate this situation in your place.
Fantastic staff & Absolutely delicious authentic Vietnamese food! I would recommend everything here but if you’re a noodle person I highly recommend trying their delicious pho!
Delicious food. I had the Prawn Laksa and my husband had Mi tieu combo.
We both enjoyed our food and it wasn't expensive. Neat foodhall with mixed seating. Worth a visit to Chinatown.
I was in dire need of chicken soup for the soul so I headed to Chinatown Plaza. Bay's Vietnamese caught my eye with chicken wonton noodle soup so I gave it a go. The wonton soup was what I needed and the cold rolls were fresh. I will return to try some of their other dishes as they were clearly the popular spot on this day. Friendly service and quick service.
Easy 5 stars review wonderful family-owned Vietnamese restaurant! The spicy soup bun bo hue here is absolutely amazing, and it resembles the ones I had in Vietnam!
The broth is rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice to give it a kick without overpowering the other ingredients. The beef and pork slices are tender and cooked to perfection, and the noodles are cooked just right. The beansprouts add a refreshing crunch that balances out the spiciness of the soup.
But what really sets this restaurant apart is their customer service. From the moment you walk to the counter, you are greeted with warm smiles and friendly hellos. The lady in the kitchen was so attentive and always willing to answer any questions or make recommendations despite not knowing much English. She reminded me of my mum whom I haven’t seen in years and this made me quite emotional on the spot.
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for quick, delicious, authentic Vietnamese cuisine and exceptional customer service!
Amazing food! Very quick and tasty! Staff was very friendly, would recommend this place! One of my favourites!
The Com Tam (Combo rice) and Bun Tam Bi (coconut Bun bowl) were packed with flavours and their Beef Pho was so addicting we finished the soup! We never really expected much from food court dishes but Bay’s truly amazed us. The menu is nostalgic and brings back memories from eating at home with our families. The lovely lady in the kitchen and their staff members were super friendly too! Will definitely be back:)
The staff are very nice but forgot our order. The pho tasted like msg and there was a lack of meat.
Bun Bo Hue. Very ordinary for the price. Basically broth and noodles. A few bits of grissly meat no fresh green herbs.
We eat at Bays Vietnamese in Moonta street, at the central market most Fridays, we swap between Lucia’s & Bays.
I’ve eaten at many Vietnamese cafes & restaurants BUT Bays is the only one who know how to do Bun Bowls! They’re amazing - I usually ‘enhale’ the food! I have the marinated chicken…. SOOOOO…. GOOD!
Bay's is amazing! I will eat here as often as I can, usually 2-3 times a week. Pho, com tam, wonton noodle soup, it's all great.
1st time tried Bun Bo Hue and 1st time tried @Bay’s, love it? Enough seasoning in everything, just excellent
I've pretty much tried all the menu, that's how good the food is. But I would specially recommend #10, their signature dish, absolutely sensational! Customer service is also outstanding. Cannot recommend enough!
Had the combination Pho and it was very nice. It was well balanced with the right amount of meat and noodles, with great tasting broth. Staff were friendly.
Very unprofessional and rude behaviour from staff, didn't get the order right and charged the money as well. We had to return and they kept arguing, finally they changed but it was very inconvenient and waste of time plus spoilt our family day out. Do not recommend such eat outs.
I look forward to my wonton noodle soup at Bay's every week or so, with the choice of egg noodles. I have a not-so-secret craving for egg noodles! Bay's is one of several delightful providers in this nest of market-styled booths. Friendly staff, reasonable prices and a convivial setting.
Authentic Vietnamese Food
Very nice Pho with thick (er) rice noodles.
Friendly service with a smile.
