Beautiful location with great food and wine.
Kids enjoyed the wildlife and plenty of room for them to kick a ball around whilst we enjoyed some bubbles.

The Barristers Block / Boston Bay Oyster HQ Masterclass was fun and informative, with awesome oysters paired to delish BB wines, followed by a really nice main course and more wonderful wines, all set in Barristers stunning gardens.
A great day that was well beyond the value of admission.
This is a "must do" so if you get a chance to book one, do it!
Jan, please do this event again!

Absolutely sensational place to enjoy a summer's afternoon with a leisurely lunch on the lawn under the shady trees. Had the dip and pizza menu, sounds basic but they're absolutely superb.
Great place to bring the kids too

This has got to be hands down one of the best wineries, for both Wine and being Family Friendly! We had a family function for a 70th and the service was amazing, the food - high quality and plenty of it! Their pizzas are amazing and worth the $$ per head if you’re doing a function. Special thanks goes to the staff who were very attentive on the day we were there. Nothing was too much trouble! Thanks for a great afternoon out!

Great chilled atmosphere. Safe place for kids to muck about, charcuterie boards were lovely.
Kids meals where on the pricey side.
Otherwise, lovely place to spend a lazy arvo with nice wine and tasty pizza.

Travelled to Barrister’s Block today for my birthday. The tasting experience was lovely- Michael was friendly, welcoming and knew his wines. When a large party entered the tasting room, he professionally managed their rowdy behaviours. This was much appreciated as my mum is hearing impaired and was finding the noise difficult to manage with her hearing aids. The whites were okay, with the Chardonnay surprising us as this is not a tasting we would have picked.

Their stand for us was definitely “The Bully” Shiraz, 2019. Worth every drop. Michael our sommelier was knowledgeable and also listened to us, and adjusted the tasting to our preferred palate. Michael also assisted us with different purchasing options to ship wines interstate. Possibly the best kept secret in Adelaide is their 2022 Pinot Noir- smells like jersey caramel and is even more delicious, would pair beautifully with soft cheese, figs and honey. Their Cabernet Sauvignon, 2019 was also delicious, putting other wineries well-known for their cab-savs to shame, being in a league of its own.

The grounds also sparked the interests of my 4 year old and 19 month old, with enough room to roam, explore and enjoy the animals.

The menu was somewhat limited, however, having small children, we appreciated the intimate shearing shed atmosphere and cozy fire; reminiscent of my husband and my wedding in a 1937 converted shearing shed! The kids meals were fabulous, with REAL chicken and no extra fluff. We, as a family anticipated liking the lamb pizza the best and were shocked to learn our favourite was the truffle oil and mushroom pizza- delicious! The balance of truffle was perfect, there was no lingering earthy taste. After being so impressed by “The Bully” Shiraz, this was the table wine we paired with our lunch. We also appreciated the ‘rock and a hard place’ table waters, one of the better mineral waters (sparkling and still) on the market. If you’re a sparkling water drinker, you’ll appreciate there are differences in different brands!

Overall, a wonderful day out, a memorable birthday and great hospitality. A special thank you to Michael who also ensured my sister was able to ship her wines back to the ACT. My mum, sister and myself have certainly added some beautiful wines to our collections- we will without doubt be back to restock!

Had my birthday here with some friends.
The service was exceptional, they made a special plate up for my friends needs.
Was lovely sitting outside listening to the live music, eating pizza, drinking wine and watching the animals walk around!

A stop for sure on a wine tour or just for some lunch!

Fantastic spot for lunch with pizza, cheese and wines. Cheeky delicious ice cream to top off the lunch. Pet and kid friendly with chickens and deer's roaming around! Nice selection of wines.

Whilst the atmosphere is lovely the food is just good like not bad just not amazing and at 52 bucks a head for a pizza each and one platter to share you ain't really hitting much value for money. Furthermore the reception by staff is just very clunky, one person directs you to another person who directs you nowhere and then you just kind of sit down and wave like a man drowning at sea to hopefully get someone's attention.

Our tasting with Gabby today was fantastic! Great wines, such a variety of flavours and a beautiful setting, thank you Gabby for your genuine hospitality, you humour and knowledge of wines, a great opportunity to show case our home in the Adelaide Hills!

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and afternoon under the trees in the garden! Our almost 14 year old Labrador was welcomed and fussed over which made our visit all the more special!
We will return as soon as we can!

They were one of the few open on Boxing day and we're so glad to have stopped in. It's a beautiful property with a small kitchen serving charcuterie and pizza (on boxing day. There's a bigger menu on normal days). Of course you come for the wines and they didn't disappoint! They have a lovely sparkling shiraz to start and some excellent 'museum' quality shiraz to finish. It was a wonderful visit and I would recommend it!

Beautiful winery with absolutely lovely owners. The passion for wine runs in the veins of this family. Great atmosphere, views, venue. The wine tasting allowed us to get a broad view of the wines produced by these sommeliers. Highly recommended from a Bordeaux native!

We went to barristers blocked exactly 1 year ago and had the most amazing afternoon the platters were 1 between 2 people full of great cheese & meats & the pizzas were great. We returned yesterday & it really isn’t worth $50 per head anymore. 1 platter between 6 of purely bread & dips & the pizzas weren’t great tasting at all. Plus not to mention a kids chicken & chips is $25!
I love the venue, the staff are so lovely but unfortunately it’s so overpriced & the food quality has gone I can’t see us returning in the future

My daughter celebrated her birthday with family including a 3 yr old and 3mth old.
The 3 yr old was very happy to spend time in the large sand pit and talk to the deer, Shetland pony, Alpacas, ducks and geese and 2 resident dogs (1 a gorgeous Jack Russell puppy).
We had the Dips and Pizzas menu and the 3 yr old had an order from the kids menu.
The food was excellent and their wines we ordered were also very good.
The service was excellent and I wouldn’t hesitate to return to Barristers Block anytime for a meal and afternoon of relaxation.

What niggardly, miserly experience. Well done to the owners for ripping me off. You have no conscience.
We paid $ 90 pp for the list below. Each description was food for 2. The food was matched with wine. Each glass less than 2 fingers high. Except for the flute of welcome wine.
Described as Harvest Platters
After 30 minutes
One pita neatly sliced into 10 pieces served with humus.

Another 30 minutes and a poor offering of wine
2 x100ml of cauliflower and bacon soup

Another 45 minutes and a poor offering of wine
A pile of pearl barley, cous cous, a tea spoon of labna, 1 slice of canned beetroot, 5 pieces of lamb. Each barely 50mm by 10mm square and the hidden shaved almonds swimming in the slurry.

30 minutes, no wine
1 melted scoop of ice cream and one cold.

30 minutes later and a smidgen of sweet wine
8 crackers, a third of a Camembert, 1 tea spoon of quince paste (how radical) and a equilateral triangle maybe each side 50mm of bland cheddar to finish.
The result after 3 hours still hungry still thirsty but how quiet were the other 11 tables? That said it all.

Lovely pizza, thin crust and great toppings, great platters. Enjoyed the wine tasting and purchase - great value! Kids friendly environment.
