Barnacle Bill Golden Grove

The food is barely cooked. The staff were more interested in their phones than customers. Not the usual good experience you get at Barnacle Bill.

They have 4 staff working on Wednesday and took 15-20 minutes to prepare a small order and doing fun with each other. I don’t know whether owner knows about its staff or not. But this is not a way to manage restaurant. Really disappointed

Looks nice since renovations. However, I ordered a chicken pack take away and received one piece of fish and two chicken (its suppose to be 3 chicken pieces). Very thankful l’m not allergic to fish, called to let them know so they are aware, to limit it happening again, lady was apologetic.

We were really looking forward to having a family feast from Barnacle Bill's as we have missed the restaurant while it has been closed. Unfortunately, the seafood was more brown than golden, and subsequently, it was very dry and overcooked. Very disappointing. The new restaurant looks great though. As always the staff are friendly.

Service is very good you do not have to wait long for your order.food is cooked great nice and fresh enjoyed it

I accidentally ordered from the wrong store, would have been a 59 minute drive each way.
I'm assuming it was the store manager offered to fix it up for me, she took my order and contacted the other store for me.
The food was ready within 15 minutes and absolutely delicious.

Orderd one of the packs didn't get what I ordered. Flavour was non existent. Would not go back

Order was placed through DoorDash. Explained EXACTLY what was wanted in order through special instructions. When order was delivered wrong instead of apology there was lies (we don’t batter seafood platters, when they actually do) and arguments with us, the paying customers. The fact the manager/owner is still arguing and lying in the review responses tells you how he treats his paying customers.

Ordered food from here, didn’t receive what we wanted and the manager/boss was rude. Terrible customer service

It’s very disappointing and immature to see that a manager would behave in such a manner, as to argue and lie about his customers, whom he has never met!
You say we failed to give the right information to the delivery driver for our order, therefore it’s our fault we received the wrong product, but I don’t actually recall seeing you sitting in our lounge room next to us, when we placed this! (So how would you know?) Just like we are struggling to prove it wasn’t our fault, you can’t actually prove it was either! Your staff lied to me telling me you don’t batter products on your menu, then you confirmed this, when the week previously, we had delicious (exactly the same meal) battered everything (no complaints!) from you!
Blaming a third party delivery company and taking no responsibility to check that the company sends through all requests and being humble enough to apologise and offer to look into it, you simply defend yourself, palm it off and accuse your customers of lying! Very disappointing that your reply was untrue. Shame on you.

Terrible customer service, whole order was wrong and all we got back was an argument with the staff and owner/manager with no compensation for their mistake. Wasted time and money purchasing from this franchise due to incompetency.

Owner argued that it was doordash’s mistake and not theirs. Since when is a delivery service responsible for cooking the food? We placed our order and specific instructions, Barnacle Bills didn’t provide. Doordash as a delivery service did what they needed to do, and, deliver. Unfortunately on Barnacle Bills behalf, they provided the wrong order.

Restaurant was clean, service was basic but friendly. Meal cooking/waiting times were extensive but food is always fresh and hot so perhaps justified.

Going down hill from what it was, a little disappointing younger the staff the less they care sorry to say but you asked for a review

Starting to become hit & miss here. Been coming here for years & suddenly they can't always hear you on the phone, standing in the loud kitchen will do that, rushed meals with crumbed fish bordering on burnt & tartare sauce missing. Did the workers from Hungry Jacks start working at Barnacle Bills Golden Grove?

We have the best fish and chips in Adelaide. We dine in so that we have them hot and fresh. Thank you for your continued quality and service.

Food has always been cooked perfectly and the staff have always been extremely helpful and polite cannot fault this shop

I ordered the Apple pie meal deal it was better than i thought it was the fish was extremely good, the chips were decent, and the apple was warm and nice to eat. 5/5 would come back here next time:).

The seafood was very nice, I quite enjoyed the fish and chips meal but i think that the shrimp was the best part. Perfectly cooked.

Seafood is still great, but a little disappointed that the boxes have gotten smaller and servings have decreased in size, but prices remain the same.
