Barnacle Bill reviews
36This review is specific to BB at Woodville. We've had BB for years at another branch. We moved to Perth and stop at BB in Port Augusta everything's we come through to Adelaide. This time we bought from the Woodville store. Very disappointing! Serving size was smaller, some of the seafood was small and overcooked and there wasn't enough chips for 3-4 people.
Everything was soo under cooked the chips the bread crumbs that coated the seafood
1 star
Port Augusta restaurant: Clean, Fresh, good service and love the crumbed prawn snack pack. The Chicken burger option is excellent. Love that tangy tartare sauce. The Prawn cocktails are excellent value and nice Barramundi.
I had a prawn cocktail and a grilled Barramundi snack pack for 1 person. The cocktail was good, the chips fantastic, and the portions of the fish were great -didn't like the tartar sauce though- However, my fish was like 3/4 cooked.so semi raw grilled fish, and it wasn't just the look but the texture, which was like bubble gum (which is how raw fish texture is). I didn't bother to ask to get it grilled longer as I was in a bit of a rush. The service was good and quick (I guess too quick for the fish to be grilled properly). 4 stars as I didn't expect this from such popular seafood restaurant. Would come back again anyway.
Once again Barnacle Bills you supplied a fantastic lunch for our family this year, everything and I mean everything was beautifully cooked and even by the time our daughter picked it up and brought it to us it was still warm, both families thoroughly enjoyed all that we got.
Have a great Easter.
Ordered scallops, calamari and barramundi. The chips were really nice and crunchy. Oysters were not available that day or might have come off the menu. What a pity!
Great prices.fish always well cooked.chips can be a little oily.pickled seafood range is awesome
Needs to be cleaned regularly including wiping down the tables more often and cleaning the toilets alot better
They had a second hand Corner which is now gone. It such a shame as it makes this store as boring as the others whilst waiting for your order. Our friends are all disappointed with this decision to get rid of it
Sunday afternoon and nothing was open in Port Augusta except Barnacle Bill's. So glad we took the time to find it. The pickled seafood marina was chock full of tangy delights. The Barra was delish and an extra couple of pieces of Whiting, all crumbed, were perfect for two. The coffee was spot on as well. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Recommended.
Family feast box was fresh, generous servings and affordable! The seafood was soft and perfectly battered. Unfortunately lacked seasoning but salt and pepper were provided to use. Better than anything I've had in Sydney
Please open one as good as this in Pakenham, Victoria. I'd be there at least once a week.
Great seafood, I mean great! We had a pack with a bit of everything and the entire meal was great, delicious, smooth tasty. Prices are very reasonable. I would not hesitate to recommend this place, if you like seafood then this is heaven for you too. Staff lovely and friendly, can't find anything to complain about. Love it, love it, love it
Barnicle Bill's is my all time favourite seafood restaurant in Port Augusta - you literally cannot fault them. Fabulous prices, very generous portions and great customer service has kept me returning!
Really disappointed! Drove from Adelaide to Port Augusta. My hubby and I always stop at barnacle bills port Augusta for our ritual of calamari and prawns. We'd checked the website and it said closing time of 9pm. We timed it perfectly arriving at 8pm. Only to find all the chairs and tables outside and to be told they were closed. Our disappointment was evident. After a long trip we were so looking forward to our dinner. The staff were not apologetic or at all willing to help us out. We will NOT return there again!
I really enjoy the yummy food at Barnacle Bill, Port Augusta. I especially like the scallops and prawns. Great service, clean restaurant and toilet.
We were hunting around Port Augusta for seafood and found this place and my expectations were low. But it was good. Excellent value, fish was decent, servings were huge.
Been getting Barnacle Bills for years but never tried the Lemon Pepper Calamari. The texture seems a bit weird to Salt and Pepper battered Calamari but oh my it was so tender and just melted in your mouth. Awesome. Huge pieces too. Chef you're amazing.
Very friendly service. Chips were warm, not hot. Prawns seemed like crabsticks. Two pices barramundi were edible but pretty ordinary. Stress, service was excellent.
First time at a barnacle bills store for approx 30 years. 2 well cooked pieces of butterfish and good serve of chips, at a good price and quick service. Dont know why we stopped going to barnacle bills all those years ago but we will return
Good fresh fish and chips, as expected with Barnacle Bill's. Will presented and good value for money. Nice and clean. Friendly staff offering good service. Easy to recommend if travelling through Port Augusta.
