The lady was pretty rude about me not having cash and asked me to go to the ATM to cash out, she said if I want to pay by card there will be an extra charge.

The take away food I got was not great I could tell the food was old.
I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Tried Philippines food for the first time, I don't know if this is normal food but what we tried was very average, maybe this was why we were the only ones there!

First time back in a while and very disappointed, previously 4 star but both my wife and I had similarly bad experiences waiting for service whilst owners chatted and then very losely pack the food where you get 2 dishes in the takeaway container, so service and value need improving im sorry to say.

I went to Bamboo House for the first time and the owners were very welcoming and gave me a true Filipino service. They even let me try the dish before I ordered so I could decide if I was satisfied. I got a free drink and discount for getting some goodies even without asking for it. I will surely continue to support this amazing business.

Drastically overcharging their customers and hoping the consumers don’t notice. The menu says a certain price and you get to the counter and suddenly you’re in paying double the amount. The food was subpar at best and the chicken was undercooked.

Kumasta! Im filipino/ Australian and I have been to this shop a few times. Although the older male granpa is very nice and polite. Also the lady is kinda nice but a little abrupt. Do not eat there cooked meat because it sits there all day and they still serve it dry and tasteless hours after it should've been thrown in the bin.

Avoid this place if you don't want food poisoning. I bought some deserts for my filipino mum who I was seeing the next day. When I checked the food the next day it had mold growing on top of the food.

Everytime I buy the chicken skewers they're so dam dry and always upsets my stomach. This will be the last time I visit there store. Don't get me wrong they seem nice. But a few wrong vibes from the older lady however. There is other filipino stores you can visit that I'll be going to instead.

My son and I use to love going to this establishment, good meal at a reasonable prices. Went back today and paid double the amount we use to for the exact same meal not even 12 months ago, almost $40 each for a simple Filipino dish. Unfortunately my son became unwell not long after eating there. He suffered from nausea and diarrhoea. Extremely overpriced, obvious price gouging and not the most ‘health conscious’ establishment. Easier and safer to go to the local pub and get a better meal and drink for a little less. If you are after value for money and a healthy eating option then I suggest steering clear of this establishment. Disappointing and disgusting.

I was walking past the other day and the person behind the counter was using a spray bottle with what I only presume was water into the noodles that were on display, I'm guessing to re -hydrate them because they have been sitting for so long and dried out, when he saw me he hid the spray bottle straight away, that was enough to ensure I never buy from there.

Food is authenthic but we have been here quite a few times now and it is not consistent.

The ready made food is convenient for quick takeaway. It is however a pot luck, sometimes it’s great sometimes doesn’t taste great!
The honey chicken is nice when freshly made.
Friendly service.
It does also have a limited selection of Asian grocery/pantry items, sauces and 2 minute noodles available too which is a bonus.

NEVER AGAIN!

My husband and i went to this shop waited an hour for our dinner where the restaurant was only two of us.
The lady absolutely doesnt have any respect for her customers at all.
I was asked if i would like to upsize my meal, i refused and i was asked one more time, i explained why i didnt want to upsize - she walked away unhappy! Yes you heard me - walked away.

When the time we’re about to pay, she overcharged me for $10 and the reason was because “i upsized it for you” because your plate didnt look good and you wouldnt have enough where i clearly answered NO for both occasions.

She absolutely ripped me off and moreover the service was rubbish. This is australia that you cant just ripped people off this way. Absolutely nightmare to dine in here tonight and never again!

Not really worth the money at all, as there is food on plates that sit there all day and it's very rare to see when they replace the food

As the honey chicken isn't like your normal Chinese honey chicken at all, the sweet and sour pork is gross as there is only 2 things I would eat but everything else no thank you

Expensive, price doggy not on the menu, sticky table, food served warm not hot, considering I had ordered over 25dollars and only accept CASH only without notifying at the first place, need to walk all the way back to atm and get some.

To owners, if you just want one-time customers. There you have it, I'm not coming back here again without hesitation by the only chance you get this "big profit" from a single lunch.

A great selection of Filipina dishes as well as the wonder food, Mulungguy, rich in vitamin D, antioxidants and nutrients for bone and cartilage repair. For people like me with osteo-arthritis Mulungguy a must in your diet.

Owner overcharges on purpose hoping you wont notice! Happened to us twice. Regularly hear customers questioning the cost and then the mumbled apologies offered by the owner

Beware. The Filipino man was friendly then gave me food that made me sick. The chicken tasted off. I don't think they store their food properly. The suman was on an uncovered plate on the counter where anyone can touch it and there were flies. This type of food is supposed to be kept in the fridge. The hot food is out all day behind glass that has yellow lights to give the appearance of a warm area but the food isn't warm. Letters are falling off the signs. There are so many local Filipinos who love traditional food and they deserve better. Filipinos talk and they don't stand for this.

I saw 2 products with best before Jan 2021 from their Grocery Store

It was off putting to see that after a year, this 2 products are still on their shelves for sale

I can't believe I'm only just reviewing this place. I have been going here for years. This place makes the best Authentic Fillo food I have come across since living with my Fillo family or even since I was in the Philippines. I never feel home sick for my second home as long as this place remains in business. They are a lovely couple who run the place and the treasures you find there can be hard to find anywhere else. If you're new to Fillo food give them a try, if you know Fillo food you will feel right at home. You won't be disappointed here as long as you remember they are a preferred cash only establishment. Please show your love and visit here for a taste of the world you won't find as good anywhere else
