Australian Red Cross reviews
15 Great experience at the Red Cross Op Shop, grabbed ourselves a few bargains & had a laugh with the friendly & helpful staff. I’ve travelled down from the country so I like to do a round of the great Op Shops in Blackwood SA
…
Very disappointed with my experience here. Tried to buy a kids vest that didn’t have a tag on it, when I got to the counter the lady took it to the back evaluate with her manager on the price (which is fair enough) but then when she came back she told me it was $15! For a child’s vest?
Super expensive, could’ve brought a brand new one at the shops for that price. Not sure if they realise that the items they’re selling are second hand and have been donated free of charge? Maybe they want to get better at pricing the items of their clothing so they’re more realistic for the condition they’re in.
The staff at this store are extremely rude and NOT welcoming. They treat customers like they are a nuisance to them.
Please avoid this store because the female workers will treat you like dirt and chase you out of the store with attitude.
To make matters worse, the stock is way overpriced for op shop standards. I can find cheaper things at some shops in Burnside Village.
The reviews don’t lie people, avoid this shop like the plague that is the women working there. Red Cross has a lot to answer for having these rude staff members in the store. Customer Service, what Customer Service? Terrible
Outstanding shopping experience.
Good to come across a professional and informative manager with many years experience in the different eras.
Pristine amalgamation of new and vintage quality merchandise and clothing.
The men's exclusive room "chaps and dudes"
Even has last seasons brand names.
It's the first time I've seen that many records in an op shop. It has a great selection of kids clothing with plenty of room for prams.
Can't wait to see the log fire in operation in Winter.
I visited all of the op shops in Blackwood this week, and by far this one was the best for the lovely layout and range and quality of its clothing, the ease at which I could look at the clothes- the clothes racks weren't packed so tight and the staff were all really lovely particularly the manager who very kindly helped me with my purchases. Five
My wife and I called in here for a look but ended up walking out after 2mins because the old women with bright red hair was so rude absolutely awful customer service. We won't recommend this place and we will never go back. She was so rude.
Completely rude and dismissive on the telephone
I'm actually not surprised!
Will never donate nor shop here again
Every time I come to this op shop this one lady is awful. Last time she followed me around as if I was going to steal something and this time she stole my clothes while I was trying stuff on and had walked out to find a belt! I missed a sign so she took all the things I was trying on and put them back on the shelf.
All the other staff are fine but this lady needs an attitude adjustment. She could have just spoken to me if I’d done something wrong.
This is without doubt the most wonderfully presented Op Shop I have ever had the pleasure to visit. Although predominantly selling ladies wear and accessories with an exclusive ‘Ladies Lounge’ containing higher end High Street and designer brands there is also a fantastic children’s wear section and tucked away at the far end of the shop there is a decent selection of books, home ware and of course menswear. Every twist and turn in this labyrinth of a shop was delightful. The next time I’m in Adelaide this will be one of the first places I visit again.
I’d like to give special mention to the Sales Assistant (Manager?) ‘Rich’ who not only provided great customer service but also selected some great shop music and offered me a few brilliant recommendations of other places to visit in the Adelaide Hills.
Well done guys! A truly boutique experience. I wish I could give you more than five stars.
The best shop in Adelaide, friendly service and well priced, and most importantly all money going to a great cause, run by volunteers
One of the MOST EXPENSIVE op shops I've ever been in.
All of the op shop/thrift stores in blackwood are run by rich women (mostly older ones) who don't know how much things should cost second hand.
I found several Kmart, Big W, Target etc brands that were priced anywhere between $10-$30. I would be cheaper to buy it brand new from a chain store.
Also, most of them wont haggle with you, saying it's a *charity store* so they cant do discounts! If you don't sell me anything at a reasonable price how can I contribute to you're *charity*? Absolutely ridiculous.
The staff were extremely and utterly disrespectful and rude to us, while look around the shop. Heard them talking smack about us as we were leaving not happy!
One of my favorite op shops. Always found amazing things for good price. Friendly, professional and caring staff.
Every time I've gone into this store in the last few years staff have been snooty and unfriendly. On a couple of occasions they've turned the lights off in the far room when I've been in there when it's been 20 minutes from their closing time and I've had to navigate by the torch on my phone. No apologies, just huffing and puffing. I don't understand it-most other charity shops have friendly volunteers. I'm a big believer in the Red Cross, just not this shop.
Great modern thrift shop. Very clean, tidy and every thing on sale is well presented. The staff are helpful and very obliging. We enjoyed a good fossick around, lots to look at from bric a brac To furniture, with lots of clothing. Good store to visit.
