Arkaba Medical Centre reviews
25Private clinic be careful you pay for everything, just to see a doctor for certificate $44 dollars with a Medicare, disgusting appointment with doctor take 1 minute ridiculous
One of the best medical centres in Adelaide with doctors and who actually care and provide a personal touch to your treatment. Even though I don’t live nearby anymore I continue to visit given the excellent service
I have received over the last decade.
My aunt visited the clinic a week before to make an appointment for March 15th where she needed to fill in the form for patient details - these two blonde ladies assured us they put it in. Turns out when my aunt visited on March 15th just before 9AM, the receptionist sitting next to the front entrance said none of her details were in the system. My aunt wasn’t surprised because these two blonde ladies at the counter the week before didn’t seem like they wanted to be there to work anyway. That’s fine. It wasn’t something my aunt wanted to hear but we’re human and we make mistakes so she let that slide and filled in the form again. However, when my aunt went to get her blood tests done and the phlebotomist went through her personal details for confirmation, she found out that this particular receptionist on March 15th had put in ALL my aunt’s details incorrectly; she spelt my aunt’s name wrong, wrote her DOB and address wrong, and she did NOT put my aunt’s phone number down.
I am not sure why these events happened but I find it very hard to believe it was unintentional because it’s actually quite difficult to either miss or make an error with ALL the patient identifiers. The only reason I can come up for these events is racism because we’re not Caucasian and it sure would not justify someone’s case of waking up on the wrong side of the bed. If that’s the case, this clinic has a lot to work on.
I love going here I have 100 percent faith in my doctor. The staff are always helpful dr Watson is the best
I arrived for my appointment 17 minutes early (very hot day) only to be told "come back 5 minutes before your appointment time". I said I was very hot & looked forward to their air-conditioning. NOPE not going to happen said the gruff girl outside.
Why is it that some doctors always run late. An appointment booked for 8: 40am, and by 9: 10 I’m still 2nd in the queue. Why is my time not important.
Either book less appointments, or be more realistic with time. I find it highly frustrating.
That being said some doctors are good and on time.
The doctors and reception team go above and beyond here. Nothing is too hard for them and when we really needed help, they were on it straight away with no questions and no trouble. Highly recommend this clinic.
Exceptionally rude reception staff. Notably the younger women are the worst. They could all do with some training in “friendly and helpful” customer service. So upsetting as the doctors are wonderful. In particular, doctors Moy and Crompton.
I go to the Arkaba Medical Centre because my Doctor moved there. I live near the beach, but purely because of Dr Tim Ooi, Fullarton it is.
He's the best!
I was a new patient here today as my gp is currently away. I specifically asked over the phone for a doctor that specialises in women’s health multiple times. I was assured that the doctor I was booked in with specialised in that area.
What I was booked in for was a very general women’s health enquiry, one that a gp should at least know the basics of.
I did have a few questions but the answer I got was ‘i don’t have an interest in women’s health’ despite it being under her name on the website.
The young receptionist was friendly and I did let her know I was unhappy with my experience but I was charged $152 for a new patient appointment and I left feeling very disappointed and not very reassured at all.
Having some compassionate, supportive understanding & caring doctors & nurses who listen is a bonus.keep up the good work
This clinic has a wide range of doctors to see, who are generally very good at their jobs, however this clinic is consistently running half an hour to an hour behind on all appointments - and if you question this or explain that you have another appointment (or to return to work, as most of us do) the counter staff are prone to snide remarks, scoffing, and a generally poor attitude and tone. The two women who appear to head this front counter team have been pretty bloody rude - and this is talking years of experience. I actually hate the experience in there and get awful anxiety compared to other doctors offices and waiting rooms. I expect better service from their staff and that their schedule as outlined to their patients is relatively adhered to. Bad attitude, bad service, bad wait times. After giving them chance after chance for years because geographically it’s convenient - I won’t be returning and would recommend going elsewhere.
It is rare to find a doctor like Dr. Lockie. She is the most compassionate, intelligent and thorough doctor I have ever come across. She dedicates the time you need to ensure that your health and wellbeing is paramount and dealt with the upmost care and consideration. I have been looking very hard to find a doctor with the qualities Dr. Lockie possesses and is worth the wait.
I am so grateful I found her, I can't honestly speak highly enough about her!
I attend this centre because of the very caring Doctors. Dr Yeoh has been my Doctor for over 10 years and is a gem.
Rude reception staff, horrible doctors. Regular GP denies the fact my chronic illness effects my quality of life or ability to work.didn’t properly test my bowel problems to rule out very serious things. Very patronising and not helpful
The worst medical clinic I have ever experienced. Saw a doctor who didn't help me with my medical issues even though I had already been diagnosed, gave me paperwork for tests to have done, expensive ones. Spent her time delaying me by giving directions to the test places when I live here, folding up my prescription like she was doing origami. Could not understand what she was doing until I go to pay and are charged for a double appointment $142.00. Wow an utter disgrace!
I have had a lot to do with this clinic lately and have found them to be amazingly prefessional and very good at what they do.
As it is an incredibly busy surgery for the number of people attending clinic-99% of the time I've attended has been a good experience in regard to staff and the general interaction with medical staff ectetra. Compared to other busy doctors practices this medical centre is one of the better surgery in regard to patient care and communication.
Except the Asian Old man, every one is nice. So apparently discrimination when he know we are from CHINA. But seems he laugh to everyone except Chinese! That's made me very unhappy. If you are a Chinese don't make the appointment with this Koh!
Great doctors surgery. Caring receptionists and high quality care. Lovely docs. The team at Arkaba go above and beyond.
