Ardrossan Museum and Information Centre reviews
32Medium scale museum but there's just so many things inside. Very interesting artefacts and many old tools and equipment to see. We can see how people live in the past. There's two ladies mending the museum and the're very knowledgeable and informative. Not many people usually pass by small towns but it's good if they do because you get to explore and gain knowledge on these historical things, sights, information, etc. Easy to get parking outside the museum.
What a fantastic museum with so much to see. We didn't know that the Stump Jump Plough was invented and manufactured in Ardrossan. If you're also into ship wrecks, there is a great display and history around the Zanoni wreck. Congratulations to all the work put into this museum and the informative volunteers that were they on Saturday the 18th of March.
The lady that works there was so warm and welcoming to myself and my family when we arrived, gave us so much information and was extremely helpful. Very educated and so lovely! We definitely were 100% happy with the service she provided. Thankyou!
Lots of fascinating antiques from past locals including hairbrushes, wedding dresses, cameras and even royal family memorabilia. Plus a video to watch. John was very helpful, thanks John
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. What a credit to the Progress Association. A wonderful collection of “stuff” from bygone years
Great place to visit. Well organised, informative and interesting. Staff are friendly, helpful and ready to answer questions.
Really well done, beautiful collection of the past. The story of the stump jump plough is amazing. Staff very friendly and helpful. Easily spend a hour or more here.
Visited on the 6th of February this year. Absolutely loved the place. Staff were very knowledgeable and even aided us with seeking a welder to repair an issue on our van. Barb, Bob and Helen are worth their weight in gold there.
The museum was cheap and packed full of great articles and exhibits. Highly recommended for families and couples travelling there!
We entered the museum 1/2 hour before closing. The staff were wonderful. Couldn't be more helpful and informative. Very interesting shipwreck display. Really enjoyed our visit. Wish we'd had more time.
Very helpful staff we received alot of help with maps and information about the area we also went thru the museum an was also able to charge our phone museum staff very informative and knew alot about all the things in there would return again
The ladies in the information centre were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They gave information books to the kids to follow along our trip and had plenty of good ideas. Thank you!
Very helpful and gave us plenty of information for the Yorke Penninsula. Recommend coming into see it all.
We very much enjoyed our visit, especially the agricultural machinery and the history of the manufacture in Ardrossan of the stump-jump plough (see photo).
The two ladies at the info centre were very helpful and friendly, definitely a must to find out about Ardrossan an it’s surrounding areas
We had a great experience here. You guys provided us with more than enough information about all the things we could do and see in the Yorke Peninsula for our family to have a fun time on our holiday.
Always a friendly face in here and I must stop off for me each time I go to Ardrossan I always stop off here and they have a really unique / well priced selection of ardrossan/ fishing themed merchandise from tea towels to jumpers, fridge magnets stickers, plus the attached museum is a low cost of $5 & hours of interesting things to look and learn about, and supporting our beautiful peninsula when we visit here on getaways has never been more important as yorkes is an absolute gem in our state. I cant speak highly enough of this place and the lovely staff
Small Centre with limited supply of brochures beyond their area but staff were pleasant & tried to help. Thank you.
Holly was very helpful for giving us tips on the region. Very friendly and excellent advice on the best pubs!
Fantastic place to visit. Staff are full of knowledge. Got maps we needed plus other information.
Museum is 1 of the best. So very clean with lots to see.
Wonderfully happy and helpful staff. They went out of their way to assist in my camping pass and brightened my day immensely. Thank you!
