Lovely authentic Thai food just across the road from the beach. Portions are a bit on the small side but the flavours are definitely there. The food is more northern Thai so a lot less spicy than the usual Bangkok or Phuket style food. The fish cakes were especially gorgeous (made in-house and not store bought) and the hor muk was bursting with multiple types of seafood. The green curry was tasty but a bit on the watery side.

Been twice now, and spring rolls very bland, the sauce was tastier. Lemon pepper quid came out overcooked thick breadcrumb.used to love this place, but not going back. Dissappointed.

Waited over an hour for our food that never came. Had to ask where our food was and they told us there had been a mix up and our food wasn't even ordered. Place wasn't even full. Waitress had low customer service and had to wait 30 minutes for lemonade that I had to remind them of. Disappointment.

The food is so bloody amazing it distracts me from the other aspects of what makes it a good experience at Ampikas

Average food and poor service. Food was okay - nothing to rave about. Waitress obviously didn’t want to be there, no manners, no idea whose food’s whose, just dropped food on corner of the table - not saying a word and walking off.
Great spot in in-front of the beach but definitely better places to eat in Port Noarlunga!

Extremely rude owner for serving customers that I have ever seen in SA, would never come back again.
Even there were heaps of table outside and inside without reserved mark on the table. Rubbish lies don’t help it to make an excuse unfortunately.

My go to place for when I feel for a true Massaman curry. Great ambiance and service is friendly and quick. Great beer selection for the beer drinkers in the family. Good location to take an after dinner walk along the jetty.

Booked table several days in advance and confirmed on the day of the 7pm booking. Great atmosphere and ordered entree and main for 2 people. The mains arrived and we asked about the entrees which we then said we'd eat after we had finished our mains which were delicious but the entrees (2x crumbed prawns fried with coconut,) came whilst we had really only had a couple of mouthfuls of the Pad thai/Bombay noodles so we again said we would eat the entrees after we had eaten the mains. The waiter said he'd leave the entrees on our table but we asked if they could be taken away and appear when we had finished our mains. We expected to be given hot fresh prawns but what appeared when mains were finished were soggy, dull cold prawns which we suspect simply sat on a counter until re- served. I thought we had been very accommodating and friendly not making a fuss and having a giggle about the back to front meal
When we paid the account we did not receive an apology or offer of a discount and when we got back to our room we discovered we had been charged for a GSM wine at $36 instead of the $30 Scarpintonni Shiraz which had been a 2018, not the listed 2017 (we didn't quibble about the different vintage)
All in all a disappointing night when we were celebrating 25years of renewing our vows and me being cancer free following breast cancer.
They really couldn't have given a damn.
Would not go there again
Subsequently we were called by the owner a couple of days after the meal and on the day we posted this review.
He apologised sincerely and has offered to refund us the cost of the wine/entree and claimed he was devastated by our experience. We accepted his apology and restated our main course dishes were delicious. Moving on.

Gave them a second chance after getting egg in a Vegan Bangkok rice. Unfortunately the second time the food was flavour less. Gone down. Hill so ce we had it at the start of the year. Won't be coming back. Going to try the Thai in Christie's beach.

This is really sad for me because I wish we had a decent Thai place in Port Noarlunga, but I'm now convinced this place has only survived for so long on the back of its location alone.

As Westernised as Westernised Thai food gets: Pad Krapao Gai with sweet/genovese basil instead of Thai basil; everything ordered spicy and not even the (very dry) Larb Gai had any sort of heat; under-soaked, tough rice noodles. I would like to think it was just a bad night, but that trainwreck of a meal killed any ideas we had of a return.

If we could forgive the disappointing food, then the service was the dagger. We were careful not to take it out on the two very friendly waiters, but they clearly needed help. Waiting times were upwards of 20 minutes for a beer and there were mistakes at every step.

The food was great, but service was below average and the venue is very loud.

After sitting and waiting for 15 mins for someone to take our order we ordered 2 mains, and 2 drinks.

Eventually we were given table water, and by the time our food came out (which was delicious) our table water was empty, but our drinks never arrived and the water remained empty ‍️

While eating we tried to get the attention of the wait staff but it seemed like they were actively trying to avoid eye contact.

This wasn't a busy night, the food was great, but the service was very inattentive. If we go back it will just be for takeaway.

Fantastic Authentic Thai Food! Quaint surrounds in a fabulous location, sit by the fire in winter or watch the sunset outside in summer with local craft beer available in bottle or on tap. We love this place but it is pricey compared to other local eateries, but you pay for what you get and here you're getting some of the best!

Let’s start with the best asset of the restaurant - it’s on the beach that means you can have sunset dinners
This Thai restaurant had maintained its authenticity and the ambiance was very well crafted. We ordered choochi, spring rolls and pad Thai noodles with some rice.
Excellent food and authentic taste (well I would know because I have visited Thailand)
All thumbs up and must visit place

Disappointed, we were rushed to order, asked 3 times, waitress couldn't understand vodka, soda, lime and bitters, food has great flavour but vegetables must be from a frozen pack as they were very mushy, not fresh and crisp like Thai food normally is. This review is not to turn people off going, hopefully it's to help improve your food.

Staff friendly and helpful. Million dollar view witnessing the waves hitting the foreshore, wow the sunset so romantic, food just burst flavours into the taste buds. Come and try it for yourself.

Genuinely one of the best Thai meals we've ever had and one of the best dining experiences in Adelaide. My partner and I went last night and were blown away with how good it was. Welcoming, warm atmosphere and decor, super attentive and friendly staff but most importantly, phenomenal food. We had the mixed entrée to start - a selection of fish cakes, satay chicken, spring rolls, money bags and curry puffs - with two delicious dipping sauces. For mains, we had prawn tom yum and Thai green curry. They were sensational. Perfectly spiced and seasoned and full of flavour.
The bill came to less than $80 including a soft drink each.
We will definitely be back!

Tasty Thai dishes served quickly. The staff were friendly and the servings were decent sized. We were pleasantly surprised.
