Ambrosia Cafe and Giftware / Suanie’s reviews
32We made a last minute decision to have dinner out, we drove past, parked and went inside. This turned out to be our best decision all day, friendly attentive staff - not intrusive, all of our food was so fresh and incredibly tasty.crispfresh salad house made sweet chilli sauce to die for. OMG the curry puffs - light, delicate and full of flavour- perfectly paired with the sweet chilli dipping sauce. Our mains were perfect, generous serves, Thai choices I haven't seen in other restaurants. Our new favourite place to eat on Semaphore Road.
We used to be regulars here and would recommend it to anyone in the area, however after today’s experience that will not be happening.
We had not been here in several months and noticed the difference from the moment we walked through the door.
It was extremely disorganised. The staff member on the till tried to overcharge us by $50 ($130 vs. $80) and a member of our party was given normal instead of decaf coffee.
The quality of the food has decreased substantially. The toast was overdone (used to be a highlight) and the coffee was burnt.
So disappointed with our experience.
Note: the blonde girl’s customer service was lovely
Second visit for breakfast.
Always good food and coffee.
Staff friendly and service is quick.
Relaxing spot to watch life go by.
My croissant was badly burned. My knife had dirty spots, my daughters plate had dirty spots, even the napkins given to us were dirty. The picture taken was of the napkins before we even touched them. Hard to enjoy your meal thinking of how dirty the back would be if this is how they serve customers. The food is very pricey. Not a nice atmosphere with some staff looking at people they just served and walking away in a judgemental way.
The good point was that my daughter really enjoyed her hamburger.
A great little Cafe near the south Sea
The lamb gravy roll is to die for
And the service is very friendly with efficient staff
Lovely Cafe. I had frozen yoghurt and berries with chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, bananas and almonds. Very nice and presentation was great.
Great local place to eat.
Very large serving sizes for breakfast.
Omelette was overflowing with fillings, very flavoursome
First time. The place l normally go across the road was busy so l thought we would try here.
Staff were friendly, food was great and service was good. My new first preference for Sunday morning breakfast.
Awesome food, had their Beach bum burger! It was so fresh with slaw, pineapple, bacon and to top it off a yummy chicken breast! Highly recommend their food and great friendly service!
Normally great, but today's coffee was quite burnt. Yuck. And no one wearing masks? Isn't it a requirement?
We had 3 breakfast dishes and drinks. Total was over $80.
The two thick shakes were served with metal straws. One straw after being sipped on and tasted like metal was placed on the table to drain off and rusty liquid poured from it. The girl offered to replace the drink minus using the metal straws. Totally gross.
The pancake stack with maple bacon was inedible past the top pancake with the bottom being very hard. The eggs Benedict hollandaise sauce was vinegary and totally curdled looking. Absolutely disgusting. The omlett was okay and the latte was also good. Wont be returning though
Nice place. Had the vegan burger. It was tasty but the bun fell apart before I could take a bite. The side of chips was pretty meagre. The coffee was good.
Pleasantly surprised as this wasn’t our first (or second!) choice for brunch on Semaphore Rd. The decor is dated and feels a bit awkward but the food was nice and the service friendly. Meals were not brought out together (a good 5+ minutes in between). But on a positive, the eggs were perfectly poached and the bacon properly fried and browned.
Been to this lovely small cafe in Semaphore this morning. Great coffee and tasty avo breaky.
Wonderful and friendly staff.
Obviously going back
Fantastic spot for breakfast or lunch on the beautiful semaphore road, a selection of homewares.
Great menu, a large selection of cakes.
And the best for last amazing Coffee
Had canadian breakfast on 6/02. Service average. Food average. Small serve for the money you pay
Friendly service with tasty home-made fare and meals. Open for breakfast and lunch. Cosy store also selling a range of gifts and gift cards.
First rate, lovely staff, great food. Had a pie that was made with some serious love.
Get amongst it.
Lovely little cafe. Have a good variety of gluten free cakes as well as a gluten free menu, as well as a general menu & non gluten free cakes. Their choc brownie is devine. It also stocks giftware & nick nacks too.
Amazing food! You can tell everything is made on premises and made with love. Fabulous service by happy staff. Coffee was great too. Would recommend!
