Expensive allergy prick test for my son with no new outcome that we didn't already know through his GP visit and blood test. Thought they would be more thorough and test for more allergins being an allergy clinic.

When i asked Dr Yuson about the effects of sugar on my allergies and my family history of diabetes he gave zero acknowledgement to how diet affects allergic reactions. He told me to disregard my diet and continue immunotherapy despite the fact the shots was making my breathing 100 times worse.

After 9 months of immunotherapy I ceased treatment and changed my diet. All of my longterm severe allergy issues completely disappeared when I combined removing sugar and seed oils from my diet with eating grass fed red meat and vegetables.

Save yourself the time and money by seeing a diet focussed natropath instead.

I had a very positive first appointment here. I have seen various different types of doctors and specialists over several years and I would say Dr William Smith is easily the most knowledgeable and patient-focused doctor I have had the privilege of seeing.

My toddler is anaphylactic with extensive allergies, he started coming to appts here from 7 months old but only for tests because there is no help with food or what to do, or his intolerances etc he was overdue for his next round of testing as I couldn’t get a call back to book it then I finally get through to I find out his immunologist retired so I have to find somewhere else, no one told me prior and their other immunologists aren’t taking on new clients, he’s only ever come here and I’m unable to be seen anywhere else it’s up to 2 years wait which I find terrible as my last appt my son failed a food challenge so I was sent home with him only to rush him to hospital and I’ve been without desperate help for over a year with a toddler who is lifeless after even a trace of certain foods but I have to figure it all out on my own therefore hes on a very limited diet, which affects his development so I’m upset with my experience because i feel they’re unprofessional because a child with his extensive allergies and such a young age too should continue to be seen or the mother notified in advance that she needs to find somewhere else because even after all this time I still cannot get him seen by anyone anywhere, so I have to gamble with my sons life feeding him a very limited diet and prepping all his food based on my own research and getting epi pens all the time through a hospital GP. I’ve sent referrals out to almost every immunologist in Adelaide and it’s been months since I last did that and still nothing, a bit of notice would’ve been nice or just help in general.

Poor professionalism.

For the price they charge compared to the service they provide, it's completely clear that they are very money driven and their main priority is not the client but more so their wallet.

The most demandant focus of my appointment was to follow instructions regardless of whether they suit me or not and filling out the billing papers. I came to a dermatologist to express my problems and for someone to listen and help me around said problems, not to talk to a brick wall.

The receptionist was only tolerable because of her old age. I went to this clinic due to the fact I'm not quite eligible for an adult's dermatologist yet, and the wait for this appointment was only about 2-3 months.

Going into the appointment, the first comment I received was; "Oh. You're Raevyn. You look like someone's aunty", due to the extreme skin problems I had as a young adult that caused me to look much older than I was. This honestly hurt a lot because for that reason, I specifically wanted to get my skin under control. I am a senior year student, everyone around me has great skin. But regardless of the comment already made, he went on and on about how my skin wasn't too bad.

He demanded that I take an allergy test, where I had to cease antihistamines and did not listen to the reasons why I could not. I itch horribly WITH my antihistamines, and can not imagine how my skin would react without it. I wouldn't mind too much if it was during the holidays as I wouldn't be exposed to as much of my allergens, but he did not even attempt to work with me as it was all about his schedule. I understand he is busy, but at the end of the day, money is coming out of my wallet, and the most affected person in the situation is me. I am the one suffering from my skin condition.

After I continued questioning his decisions, he started giving me an attitude, and took my indecisive behavior personally and basically said to me to have it my way. It was the equivalent to saying "okay, if you don't want it, fine, do what you want. ", the tone all the more emphazing this. He crossed out my next appointment with him before even giving me a moment to have a proper think about it.

On top of all this, he was wandering in and out of the room, without notice or an apology given. I did not comment on this with him because I understand other patients might need his assistance with him too, but with everything else in the picture, it shouldn't be tolerated as a private dermatologist who claims to have a busy schedule and needing to look after multiple patients at once but only works thrice a week. It's unsustainable, unprofessional and mostly rude.

If it wasn’t for the receptionist attitude I would honestly give SA Allergy a 5 star. First approach of a certain receptionist was quite disappointing to say the least. Her attitude and tone of voice left me in tears. Following this Dr. Anthony Smith was BRILLIANT and he had all the time in the world, knowledgeable and was exceptionally polite. Would highly recommend him.

Even 1 star is too much. I wanted to make an appointment for my allergy test. Called them for the first time, nobody answered but a robotic voice promising me to call back. Nothing happened. No calling back. Nothing. Nada. Then I called the other day, the same robotics, no calling back. Then after my forth try on different days with the same result - which is no result - I decided to drive there for an appointment. Then I drove there, only finding the front door locked and no body was in but apparently they were opening because the back door was unlatched. Then I called again, right in front of the door, still no one took my call. Then today I tried again. This time a receptionist was inside of the room but refused to open the door for us. She talks to me behind the locked door and asks me to "call for an appointment". I said to her, I had tried for a few times but no one had ever called me back. She just repeated talking "You need to call" as those were the only words she knew. And then she said "I'm sorry I can't help you" to shut my mouth. The door was well locked all the way of our conversation. I was really upset but I couldn't even complain in front of her because she's an old woman. I quite understand for now the situation is not quite ideal because of the covid-19 and I totally understand their concerns of self-protection. But at least could you call me back as your robot collegue promised me on the phone? Isn't calling me back to arrange me an appointment the safest way to fulfil your job and satisfy your customers? ! Very disappointing experience. This is my first time of trying Allergy SA but it is definitely my last time. I'm advising you whoever is in need of such service, go and find another place.

William and Adriana are wonderful and always care. The receptionist closest to the door out the front could use some tutelage in concepts involving:

Being pleasant
Respecting patients
Phone manner
Face to face interactions
Helpfulness
Generally being a nice person to interact with

Some mints in a bowl would be nice too. I like mentos.

Went in thinking they might be able to offer some testing or something to try and determine my allergy, but didn't offer any new information. A very expensive visit for no return. Do not recommend.
