Alimentary Eatery reviews
52Have been to Alimentary a few times but unfortunately the meal is always dry. The walls and floors are extremely dirty and look almost sticky and wet. Have noticed staff and managers being very rude to customers, very upsetting. Maybe with kinder management the business could produce a nice staff culture.
First of it, it is almost impossible to find parking. Secondly, there was no line to be seated but it still took staff about 20 minutes to even acknowledge our existence. 20 minutes to be seated just to wait another 15 minutes to place an order. By the time the food was out we were beyond hungry and the quality of
food doesn’t do it justice. Don’t recommend, staff don’t seem to care, the floor is dirty and it isn’t an option for someone that lives a busy lifestyle - Don’t recommend!
Love the coffee, and the food is always of a high standard. I would go to the area more if there was better and more parking.
Had an exceptional time at Alimentary Eatery in Brighton today. The Wagyu Cheese Burger was an absolute delight, and the coffee was spot-on. Although I didn't try the Cubanos Panini, I heard it's fantastic!
Situated on Jetty Road, it's a vibrant spot with bustling street traffic. On busy days, street parking can be a bit challenging.

While the outside counter ordering might catch you off guard, once you know, it's a breeze. Cutlery placement could use some attention, and offering table water would be a nice touch. A slight improvement in staff attitude would make the experience even more enjoyable.
Delicious meals and great coffee on offer. Friendly staff and dog friendly too! Our go-to place for coffees and catch-ups with friends in Brighton
Sunday brunch. Even though we sat down before 11.30 we were not allowed to have the breakfast. Service slow. Food was ok.
Busy on weekends, so decided to try on less busy day. Staff definitely run around.
Had scambled eggs on toast, very tasty. Friend had raison toast looked OK she didn't say anything to contrary. Though! Coffees were small. Cost wise expensive
Great coffees with a range of plant based milks on offer.
Great range of food options available, something for everyone.
Chilli eggs were amazing, and can highly recommend.
Definitely one of the better breakfast offering in the area and am sure to return!
Just reopened after a long hold up due to water issues.
Great to see them back & opening in the mornings. Coffee is very good & staff attentive to requests. Added nibbles bit limited but the overall presentation is adequate. Looking at breakfast pretty soon
Delicious vegan option for the granola. The brekky burger and coffee was great too. The cafe was busy however our meals were served within 10 minutes of ordering. Very happy with this experience - will be back!
Have enjoyed great brunch experiences, and not so great. Will keep returning as the food and coffee are above average overall. Love sister restaurant The Alchemist’ Kitchen too.
Came here the other day, waited a while however staff were so understanding and the smoothie bowl was AMAZING, I usually stick with the same place for smoothie bowls but this was delicious!
Great atmosphere inside. Big menu which caters to dietary requirements. Reasonably sized meals but expensive.
Always good! Tried many different dishes and never left disappointed. Totally recommend this place. Well done to the team and the chef
Trendy cool place with a good vibe.
Great good, will pay to book on the weekends as it can be booked out.
Good food and coffee.
Usually love the breakfast food here. Really don’t like the new menu. Don’t fix what ain’t broke
A great place to visit in Brighton, South Australia. Great food, drink and staff are fantastic too!
Food is awesome but service is really average. Potentially the immaturity of the waiting staff that’s the issue, they are all aged around 16-20 I would say and have that attitude of ‘I don’t care’. Slow to greet you, needed to ask for table water, got a booking wrong, coffee took 20 minutes to come out. Luckily the chefs save the place with the delicious food.
Second Visit to this Cafe. The first time I dined here, (November 2022) the Eggs Benny was absolutely to die for and I couldn't fault it. However, I came in today with my family and we were unfortunately very disappointed on this occasion. The Eggs Benny today was very bland, there was no seasoning or flavour whatsoever to the field mushrooms, tomatoes or the spinach. They were not generous on the hollandaise sauce as per last time, and the eggs were very small. It also did not come with sourdough toast, but instead a cornbread of some kind, which was very stodgy and also lacked seasoning. I mentioned my feedback to a staff member, but I did not receive much of a response.
My dad had the Breakfast Burger, which was tasty but also quite plain. A small bacon and egg roll should not cost 18 dollars, very overpriced and underwhelming.
I would return for the coffee, but most likely won't have another meal here again.
Best smashed avo I’ve had. Beautifully presented. Completely wiped the plate clean. Very good cappuccino to go with it. Service was excellent despite place being very busy. Thank you to all the staff and management. I hope to be back soon and take the time to take and share some photos, seeing as the place also has a great brunch ambience.
