Adelaide Showground Caravan Park

This caravan park is nicely embedded in the city center. It feels however more like a big carpark than a caravan park. Brand new amenities but it has an industrial feeling. No reception, everything is online. You get a long 6 digit code that operates the bumm gates. Not very comfy to enter and exit. I would implement a number plate recognition system instead.

Found this a great place to base ourselves during our stay in Adelaide. Close to the city center to drive in, or you are close to the tram or train station, or the bus stop, they are all within easy walk from the van park. The sites themselves are large and most are all concrete which is actually kind of good. Some do have a grass strip if you want some green for you or perhaps your dog. So, ask when you book, about sites that have a grass edge. The only downside to our particular site #28 was people walking over your site from the sites behind to access the toilets, which was a bit annoying when you are sitting there, and a stranger just walks right past you. Seemed like it needed more access through sites for people to walk without going onto a site with someone using it. Otherwise, we found the facilities to be clean and tidy, laundry was good with card payment not coins. The park could have a better drying area for clothes that is closer to the washing machines if you don't want to use a dryer. Nice camp kitchen.
There is also a Drakes supermarket close, and we needed a vet which was also 5 minutes away on foot. Goodwood Park Hotel just out the gate and was good for a meal and beer. Not dog friendly though. Great to be right there for the Sunday Market, which was also great. There was ample space to take the dog for a walk without even leaving the confines of the showgrounds. It was interesting to be able to walk the grounds with the dog after everyone had gone. So, overall, well worth the price you are paying for good facilities, large sites and of course the location. Final things would be the Goodwood Rd end is a bit noisier with traffic noise and check what events are on at the Showground as some events can be heard at the caravan park.

Convenient location, close to the Adelaide CBD. Amenities are good and in sufficient numbers. Sites are nice and large, and the majority are paved.
Utility poles are a little hard to reach, being quite a distance from where your van is parked. Make sure you have sufficient length of power cables and water and sullage hoses

Everything is totally new, clean and safe. Calm at the evening and in the night and not far from the city center

We loved our stay here over Easter. Amenities were spotlessly clean. The sites were concrete with plenty of room available. Security was excellent. Location was perfect to sightsee around the city and beyond. We were even surprised with a bottle of wine and a chocolate Easter bunny! Wish we could have stayed longer. Will be back again one day to stay here. Highly recommended.

Extremely clean and nice and easy sites. Close to everything. Great place to stay to see all the sites of Adelaide.

Secure & a great location in proximity to most places of interest. Facilities are clean and modern.

Stayed here for one night recently. Brilliant, new amenities. Very clean. Not much shade so be aware of that. Would recommend.

That would have to be the noisiest stay I have ever had in a van park. We had monster trucks and  earthmoving machinery less then 4 metres from our window from 6am to midnight. This is even a violation of your noise rules, not mentioned at the time of booking that the event was on.

This is a great caravan park I can't rave about enough. The sites are large for a major city park, and being concrete sites is a plus for caravans. They provide heavy blocks for securing awnings, etc. There is also plenty of space for tents. The facilities are excellent and always very clean. The location is amazing being so close to the CBD. There is a services station and supermarket across the road. These are also bakeries, cafes and much more in easy walking distance. Definitely a great place to stay. I would say though that with no playground on-site, if bringing children, they will need to entertain themselves.

Immaculate site, with great security. Travelled with a very happy dog after starting his day running around the Showgrounds oval. Very clean. Needs a shower head upgrade, but that is trying hard to find flaws!

Good location, not far from CBD. For the tent you can not need to use the pegs. The facility was new, heaps of toilets and bathrooms

Great sites, amenties the whole area is better than most caravan parks, staff are all friendly, close to public transport into the city plus we were given a gift definitely be staying here again if we are in Adelaide again

Excellent location, facilities, sites and managers. Definitely worth staying here. Central to everything in Adelaide.

A great dog friendly place to stay.
Stayed 3 nights, large sites, clean amenities with a good size camp kitchen for those needing it. Loved the fact booking and check-in were quick and easy and the unexpected amendment for extra nights was no fuss.
The herbs in the planter bins around the park were also a nice touch.

For a simple caravan park it is excellent. Big 10m x 10m sites. The facilities that are provided are also really clean and clearly new. Large flat camp ground smack bang in the middle of everything and only a stones throw from the city. They are bringing in a whole bunch of massive industrial bin garden beds with new trees which will look brilliant in the years to come.

Arrived today, new caravan park, very clean and tidy, managers welcoming and accommodating and right near the town centre.

Wow, such a pleasure to stay here. Situated in the best location for getting around, not to mention all the beautiful places to eat and visit on Goodwood Rd right outside!
The amenities were spotless and modern. Using gas stoves was a luxury I took advantage of!
The owners are generous and lovely - we even got a complimentary bottle of lovely, local red wine as our stay was above 3 nights.
Couldn’t recommend this establishment more.

Nice spot to stay, close to everything and not too noisy. Full Facilities available and awesome arena for doggo's to play.

A fantastic place from which to explore Adelaide. Being brand new the facilities are top notch and in excellent condition. The size of each lot is very generous. Simple to access and a breeze to book.
