Adelaide Rockford reviews
67 Came to the Rockford for a family road trip to Adelaide.
Our room was beyond our expectations.
Close to heaps of places to eat and shop
Walk to the Oval
Clean
Plenty of space
All amenities you could possibly need
Great and helpful staff
10 out of 10 from me
Would highly reccomend staying here
It was a good experience despite displaying a note to allow more time to relax the room was not refreshed in two accessions. Also the mattress was too firm hence woke up to aches and pain.parking seems too expensive too
I enjoyed my stay for our business purpose. Well located and nice service from your staff. Coffee machine may need some cleaning of the grinder (internal) but didn't spoil the stay at all.
The main reception area only had 1 single power point in the lobby and bar area.
Nice hotel, clean and tidy. Great friendly staff. Reception is not 24 hours so if you arrive late then need to call them to access hotel. Overall good quality breakfast offerings.
The hotel room looked like it could do with some maintenance, and light wear and tear in the room and bathroom.it could just have been my room, not sure. It's not that it was bad, but it was not great.
The stay itself was fine and the service was good.
The service from the staff was great with check-in and check-out.
Great room, comfy, clean, close to shops and restaurants, close to light square, The complimentary breakfast was great, the main meal was very nice and filling, cooked beautifully,
Just a quick overnight stay, room was great no complaints and well priced.
Had Kyah on the front desk for check in and out, great service, funny and very helpful on places to see!
Would stay again when returning.
Got a surprisingly spacious spa room for a very reasonable price, even after paying the $25 extra for parking. Friendly staff let us park the car in the morning prior to checking in before our room was ready.
If you like walking the location is fantastic. Rooms are comfortable staff are available and supportive and the restaurant is good also. A great stay overall
I stayed at the Rockford for 3 nights and it is 100% not what I expect a hotel that claims to be a 4 star hotel to be. So disappointed with the facilities and features they have. I find it extremely hard to believe that they once claimed to be a 5 star hotel.
It is important to note they have given themselves the star rating and it is not an offical accredited hotel.
Having said that I can’t for the life of me understand why they think they’re a 4 star hotel. The Rockford absolutely does NOT achieve a deluxe anything!
* The bedding was itchy and rough and caused rashes.
* The mattresses were caving inwards so the bed was basically a bowl pulling us to the middle over night.
* There were no mini bar items. They had a note stating they couldn’t supply any due to staffing and that’s okay, but it’s not what you expect from a 4 star hotel.
* We had 2 rooms: Room 1 looked out onto 2 dumpsters and an alley way that people were smoking and drinking in.
* Room 2 looked out to a courtyard filled with beer bottles and cigarettes.
* The bar is only opened Tuesday-Friday 4: 30-9 and every time we went there was no body at the bar to serve us.
* The restaurant was also permanent closed, again due to staffing issues from covid-19 which is okay. But not what you expect with a 4 star hotel.
* In terms of design one of the rooms had a nail in the wall clearly where a picture once hung. The mirrors frames are chipped and the shower glass frame bangs into itself forcing the user to play the dangerous and scary game of ‘will the glass smash everywhere this time as I close the door? ’.
* The rooms we stayed in were also in a very weird location down a hall past an office and emergency exit, through two very heavy exit doors and down steps (not very accessible).
* I can’t comment much on service quality as I only saw a staff member approximately 5% of my stay. The front desk person was there rarely and the wasn’t a bar attendant ever.
There are better budget friendly hotels. Don’t recommend The Rockford - Adelaide.
Had a nice short stay at this hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing in the morning. Rooms are spacious.
Great hotel in Adelaide CBD to stay and experience urban life. Located on one of the famous streets of adelaide CBD Henley Street. You can experience night life of Adelaide as pubs, casino and entertainment facilities are just walking distance. Adelaide railway station and tram stop is also near by for transport and you can use free Adelaide tram service to explore CBD.
Good location.can get busy onto the weekend.good size room and comfortable beds.the room key was playing up or else they would have been 5 star.
Not a bad place to stay whilst in Adelaide. Hotel itself is quite nice and in a good location. Staff were happy friendly and efficient. The rooms weren’t amazing, clean enough but getting a bit old with a few broken appliances including the aircon which made it a bit cold on a winters night! All in all not bad!
Great hotel in central location, close to Rundle Mall. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean.
Only disappointment was that the bar in the hotel lobby was closed during our stay over the long weekend.
Can definetely recommend and will be on my list of hotels when we return to Adelaide.
Stayed at the Rockford late April
Rooms was good staff were good until I contacted them about a dress I left behind and asked them to post it to me
They stated housekeeping found no dress, but 100% I left it there before I went to Europe so disappointed that someone has my dress which I can’t replace
Great place to stay. Beautiful rooms, great service, buffet breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend.
Always a great place to stay if you're looking for somewhere to stay in the heart of the city. Only a 10min walk to Rundle mall and only a couple mins walk to the free tram stop. The rooms are amazing and very friend staff.
Platinum members of Accor are not supposed to be charged a bond, it is pointless. Especially, when I have a file with years of bookings with this hotel chain.
I have referred my complaint for investigation.
Regards
The location of the Rockford is fantastic for being central to alot of the city and meeting areas for tour pick ups. It is on the noisier end of Hindley Street especially of a Friday and Saturday night.
The service from the staff was always helpful and our room was cleaned daily and always had a fresh aroma coming back to it at the end of the day.
We had the daily breakfast option which was great for the start of the day. I feel they could probably open the breakfast option a little earlier for those people who have early starts - breakfast did not start til 7am most days and 730am on Sundays.
