Think twice about taking your immunosuppressed/vulnerable kids to a centre offering allied health care that charges a cancelation fee when responsibly cancelling in the event of illness (even when cancelled more than 24h before the appointment in my case). Such a policy is essentially pressuring people to take their sick kids to appointments to avoid a hefty cancellation fee. Very disappointing.

My 5 year old had a brain tumour and needed expert care … I cannot praise Michael and his team enough! Utterly brilliant.

I could not recommend Adelaide Paediatrics high enough. From the reception staff right through to ALL of the specialists. They are all incredible & have been on top of my sons medical history since he was born. We have been attending for 2 years now.

Yes they have an extensive wait list but if you want the best quality & expertise you have to be patient.

We have seen Dr Chitti and Dr Perem in the last couple of years and regularly see one of the physiotherapists, Mel. All have been highly professional, empathetic and very helpful. Mel is brilliant at keeping the physio sessions interesting and fun so they feel more like play time than exercises. Georgina, who we see for hydrotherapy, is also fantastic at making the sessions fun and enjoyable. The admin team are always friendly and helpful.

Recently thought I would be giving them a second chance. This was not a great idea. We needed a referral for my son for his speech delay and that we needed to see our other sons paediatrician. Upon calling I find out that she is no longer taking patients and that I either wait til May next year or see some one else. So we booked an appointment with Dr Shulka.

The highlights,
After a brief mention of my sons dairy allergy, ive been told that it might be lactose intolerance and to TRY HIM ON CHEESE AS ALL CHEESE IS LACTOSE FREE (for those who actually know, its not, if you are lactose intolerant that is bad advice, read the label at all times).

For some reason as a step in getting my youngest son help for a speech delay, I need to test the DNA of my eldest son for autism (he already has i diagnosis).

We leave without the referral to a speech pathologist. She tells me to go to my GP for that. $339 for nothing. Lastly, they try to book me in at the desk for an appointment with a speech pathologist for the next day. Without the referral. Honestly I was gobsmacked by the whole experience.

I would like to put a caveat on this, not all of the staff are like this, but to get into see those staff members is extremely difficult and coordinating which location you are talking too and making an appointment for is difficult. Also a lot of the call backs just don't happen.

This place is fantastic! My sons have very complicated histories, and Dr Perano is phenomenal. I originally had a referral to another doctor here, who personally rang me to explain the waiting time for him but recommended that Dr Perano would be perfect for us and he was right! She is always in your corner assisting in anyway possible- takes everything you say seriously, and goes above and beyond to get the correct specialists you need on your team.
My son’s respiratory doctor is also here Dr Smith- who is by far the greatest specialist I’ve ever dealt with. I’ve mainly dealt with him in a hospital setting but seriously the love and care he will show your children is very, very unique. We now have friends who go to Adelaide paediatrics on our recommendation because honestly I could not rate them highly enough!

Doctor was very unfriendly and quick to make a diagnosis and prescribe drugs. Shut down any other opinions and treated us like just another patient, not humans.

Dr Preeti showed absolutely no empathy. Only answer she had for us was here is some medication and he will grow out of.

Didn't know how to check for tongue tie or lip tied. Just fobbed us off saying it won't fix anything. He will grow out of it.

Didn't listen to any of our concerns on allergies as our child had rashes and Themad reflux. She described it as a minor spill. Yet the 10outfit changes a day multiple bibs landed on deaf ears. Cream she gave us for the rash did nothing and made it worse. Wasn't till we stopped with the cream and removed diary and gluten that it improve. She didn't believe that could make the rash go away but yet had no solution of our own.

Didn't understand that what the mother eats can pass to the baby through breast milk. E.g diary, soy, gluten.

Just prescribed us drugs and told it will get better and not worried about the effects to the baby. Then see on the news nexum can cause people to get allergies.

Just fobbed us off and laughed at us.

Reluctant to do anything we asked. Just happy to say he will grow out of it.

A doctor's first answer can not be just give the child medication that isn't designed for babies and see what happens.

What happened to getting to the bottom of the probably and giving you solutions to help.

In my mind she is new and needs to go back to study or do something else as this shouldn't be how we look after our future.

Avoid Dr Tom Han. Absolutely useless and no support whatsoever. Makes you feel like a crazy lunatic when listing issues with your child, defining all the behaviours as normal. Now on waiting list for WCH. Big waste of my time and money.

Don’t do it, if you need reports do not go here. They promise a set time and so far two out of two have not only been late, but DOUBLE the time they allotted (which wasn’t a short amount of time in the first place). None of their OTs are Medicare rebated. My son now gets to start school without all of his stuff set up and I can’t start the NDIS process for another month. If you say 6 weeks it should be 6 weeks not 11.

We see several specialists at their Elizabeth Vale location and have previously been to their Wayville location for two of my children. Adelaide Paediatrics are incredibly professional with modern facilities.
Their staff are so welcoming and helpful and really go out and beyond to help you. The way their team interact with children, especially on the autism spectrum is impeccable. I have found each of our specialist's so informative and they really know what they are talking about. Your children and their progress are in great hands here.
Highly recommend.
