Adelaide Badminton Centre reviews
34 Being an advance badminton player, my expectation were reasonable however ABC Torrensville, SA was a disappointment. Indoor air quality (IAQ) in the badminton hall was very poor. Centre managers acknowledged it however expressed their helpless quoting the indifferences of the owners who live in some remote south East Asian country.badminton court floor was damaged, floor material quality was poor, floor was uneven at many places, and had poor slip resistance. I could also feel poor shock absorption.
Given the high fee that charge a lot needs to be improved.
Good setup here with relax/eating area. The courts are looking a little worn and due some TLC.
My recent experience at Adelaide Badminton Centre was deeply disappointing and concerning. My friends and I had reserved a specific court well in advance, only to arrive and find that our court location had been changed without any prior notice. This was unfortunately not the first instance of such last-minute changes, which is both frustrating and unfair.
What's even more disheartening is the apparent preferential treatment given to certain customers. It seems that particular court, like Court 9, is reserved for known customers, leaving the rest of us to navigate unexpected changes and inconsistent treatment. Despite their booking system allowing customers to choose specific time slots and court numbers, the centre’s habit of constantly changing these details renders the process meaningless.
Our concerns about these arrangements were met with minimal consideration when we approached the front desk staff. After speaking with the manager, we were eventually allowed to use the court we had originally booked.
However, the situation took an alarming turn when the owner personally confronted us just 15 minutes into our playtime. The owner's furious demeanour was immediately apparent. Rather than addressing our concerns professionally, the owner resorted to shouting and made an inappropriate and unprofessional statement. He could not hold his temper and kept shouting "I'm gonnna F****** bash him" towards my friend. His threat of physical violence towards one of my friends is not only completely unacceptable but also deeply concerning for the safety and well-being of customers.
As a business owner, instead of seeking understanding from customers, the owner approached us with hostility. His aggressive approach and inappropriate language demonstrated a complete lack of respect for customers. This sort of behaviour is inexcusable and utterly contrary to the professional conduct that should be expected from any establishment.
Businesses should prioritise treating their customers with respect and professionalism, which unfortunately was not the case during our visit. I hope that my feedback will encourage the establishment to re-evaluate its management practices and ensure a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all customers.
Quite a popular place to play badminton in. Book a minimum of 10 days in advance. Luckily they now have online bookings. The court surface needs a little bit of care and may need a replacement soon.
There is a badminton accessories shop at the reception area of quite a big place accommodating nine courts. Floor boards are timber covered with non slip plastic cover, suitable for playing badminton. The down sides are 1) $27 per hour. 2) The place is not air conditioned so better not come in evening after a warm sunny day. Not sure if there will be heating in the cold winter. Parking is OK.
The secret trick is if you find the court was full keep trying to call them in the next 30min. You will see the miracle?
Great play to play badminton, there are many court but better book before come to play. They have the tap water as well so its a good things.
One of the best places to play, courts are very clean and well maintained, although it can be very hot inside during warm weathers but staff are kind enough to station fans around the courts, definitely worth a visit
Court is really good but TOILET is really bad. Smeely toilet/change room. Hope they will give a time to clean it properly. Shower room is disgusting
Plenty of courts (9 or 10) but can be quite suffocating in summer since there is no air conditioning (just a few fans placed around the corners). Drinks and snacks are very limited. Customer service was straightforward and very efficient.
Very open space with 9 good quality badminton courts. Only criticism is the lack of A/C so make sure to drink adequate hydration during summertime.
Great place for badminton. Feel like you’re in a professional arena. Thursday’s between 11-4 is $10 free for all, no booking. Manager is a friendly and cool guy.
Great courts and great atmosphere. Really nice staff with good prices. They also have racket hire and free shuttlecocks if you bring it back but the higher quality ones are only 4 dollars and are much better
Great place, atmosphere and fair pricing, but my only complaint is booking in can be a pain sometimes especially if your just doing it with friends casually and not placing competitive or on their social times. Sometimes the place isn't open until 4PM and if you message on facebook replies times are pretty long, I'm talking hours and hours. Chances of you getting a court on the day you want to play are pretty low even the following days. They would be better off to have an online system where people can check the availability of courts and book that way, that way the employees don't take hours and hours to reply.
Great place to play some badminton! Court hire is decent price especially if you are in a group. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Facility is very modern and clean!
Awesome sporting venue! & super friendly staff. It’s also a great place to catch up with friends especially in their cosy common area and play badminton on the courts. Despite raising the price to make up for covid, it’s still a great value for money per hour and the flat fee for a racquet hire The bathrooms use to have a sewage problem but upon kindly mentioning the issue to them, a staff member had the issue fixed right away and the bathroom remained cleaned. Also, nice to know they keep sanitiser bottles present. Keep up the good work
Courts are very good! However, it would be great to update your web page regarding prices! Very annoying to find out prices are up by almost 50% after we finished! Furthermore, if you use Corona restrictions as a reason to increase prices (more cleaning in particular) please include the bathrooms! They were really bad - no soap, no sanitizer and no paper towels! Pretty much all essentials were missing.
Honestly this is an amazing centre to play at. The prices aren't expensive and they host social games for every age and skill group. The courts are great and the lines are perfect.
Social games on Friday and Mondays are awesome!
You can join a game, meet new people and have heaps of fun even if you are new to Badminton.
Hey but if you are an expert don't worry, there is also high-level players that can compete with you.
Very good place to practice badminton. Spacious and airy place. All amenities are available. Lot of parking place.
