Yuen's Market reviews
72One of my favourite Chinese markets to pick up fresh fruit and vegetables, spices, ginger? And garlic. Amazing selection of everything. Believe Yuen’s market oldest Chinese market in Brisbane. Good prices. Love the range of crockery and fish monger is wonderful experience. Astounding selection of seafood. This is authentic market do the smell may be different from going to grocery shop at standard stores. But if you want authentic Asian market of various produce you won’t be disappointed. Staff are always super helpful. Parking is best in market square story carpark.
Service are ok, if you need to find anything, you can just ask a staff. Definitely need some work on hygiene, floor is pretty dirty as well.
Good quality fruit and vege, wide range of products, is very hot in store so i suggest go early in morning or late at night i believe it is still 24hr
Great Asian shop with products not limited to China, Thailand and Korea! You have lots of hard-to-find items from other countries like Vietnam and Philippines, and what I love about the place is they have the best fresh seafood options and most of them are alive! This is so far the only place I found selling spot crabs and sand crabs aside from mud crabs, alive and kicking, and the price is way cheaper than Sunnybank Fish Market! I also found the items I was looking for that I didn't find from 3 Asian shops in the vicinity! Great find! Would have been 5 stars if not for the cramped up space due to piled up boxes and plastic baskets missing in the aile!
Very difficult to get a park. Chaotic instore. Queues everywhere, not clear where to queue for which checkout. Checkout lady asked if I wanted a bag when she could see I was taking produce out of my bag to be rung up and then refused to pack in my bag but packed my friends bag as she bought a bag from them!
Price on drinks display are all wrong apparently. Took a drink said $3.29 got to register tried to doop me $8.79 took another drink marked $1.60 till registered $2.60 ️
Compared to a lot of other Asian markets, Yuen’s Market does have a lot of variety. However, would highly recommend checking expiry dates before purchasing. So many things are expired. Not even like a week expired.some are literally months past the expiry date.
Service: Rude
Price: Cheap
Products: you really need to check the best before or expiry dates. I found some of the products expired but they still selling it on sale. And i bought one as well, found out the next day when i already eat it. 3 months past expiry date. Not coming back.
Love the variety of Asian food, and the small fish market inside is a extra bonus for the shop! Staff are relatively friendly and sometimes they even give lollipops to kids (not sure if they still do that now with covid and all). The only reason I gave 4 stars was because it's not one of the cleanest markets out there, and is a little dirty, but not much. Other than that it would have been 5 stars
Good chinese grocery store with lots of selections and reasonable price. Even better most of the staff speak Cantonese which sounds more familiar to person like me from Hong Kong
Check the price of every thing you buy, because they have a different price when they scan them.
Staff members are rude as well.
Plentiful stock, helpful staff, real market atmosphere - aptly named with market sounds and smells alike.
Always busy with throngs of customers (read: popular grocery store) so be aware that there is typically a wait to checkout. Shopping trolley loan/holding fee of $10 to help you get your groceries to the car (refunded upon return of trolley back to the store).
You can literally spend hours in here if you had time to kill, you'd find so many products you never realised existed!
Lots of options for most asian food, they stock asian vegetables more than other shops, priced reasonably too.
Everything you want in a Chinese Grocer!
All my pastes and spices that I've sourced in Sydney for most of my life.
Lots of variety.
Watch the expiration date. Some products are sold even up to 7 months past the best before date.
Your go to place for all your Asian inspired food source, including fresh vegetables and seafood. Products from many Asian countries are stocked here, hence why the shop is always generally busy. Checkout service is fast.
On the downside, the shop is looking quite old, aisles are very narrow, made more challenging to navigate around as there's always boxes of stock on the floor waiting to be packed into the shelves.
Rude cashier and disgusting smell in the store. I do not recommend anyone to come to this store.
The fishy smell really put me off shopping in this store. It used to be much better than today. The fish section at the back corner certainly needs major attention, poor hygiene?
Also, a number of items on special are actually past the expiry dates. (So, they should not be on the shelf for sale by law). You need to open your eyes carefully and hold your breath while shopping in this store.
Fair prices, friendly service, had what I wanted which was, bbq pork. And the duck wrap I got for lunch was spectacular. Definitely recommend.
Biggest range of Asian products although the seafood area is very dirty. The smell is expected but something could be done to the floors
