Yatala Pies reviews
61Dont believe the hours on the website as they were closed before 8pm today. Obviously been shut for a while as all the doors where locked and the tables inside had all been moved out of the way. Website times and reality seem to be different
Great place. Brilliant pies. Was a long line when i arrived and for good reason. Place has a cult following. Line goes quickly as they actually put enough staff on who are all friendly. Got a steak cheese and bacon it was bloody delicious. Cost $6.90 but its bigger than a servo pie so well worth it. Love the australian flags flying proudly in store aswell, don't see it enough any more. If you're going between the gold coast and Brisbane stop here for lunch. Will be back.
Great food, iconic place, well worth the detour off from the highway for small pie or baked delight or to take home a pie for dinner!
Could not wait to try these pies have heard good things. Unfortunately was disappointed I got the lamb curry pie, the curry fulling was slightly under cooked but had good flavour, the pastry was thick and doughy.
It’s a big room with many kinds of pie, it’s delicious and the price is good. You must try it!
Talk about a popular place! There were oodles of people queued right around the verandah at Sunday morning tea time, but as we entered the shop, everything was running like a well oiled machine: stock was plentiful and service efficient. There were tables available both inside and on the verandah extensions. As for the food.we opted for the best apple pies (with cream) that you will find anywhere. There is an excellent range of drinks that even my stomach can handle. The drive-through was doing a roaring trade, but we found a car park right at the steps. Why would anyone go to the local Maccas when you have Yatala Pies as an option? Still a good pit-stop on the journey between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Great pie we had a pepper pie each and it was nice and hot and a man size pie.
Thank you Yatala
The good old Yatala Pies, situated just off the highway at Yatala has been a staple in almost every Queenslanders diet since as long as I can remember.
For the past 20 years the family & myself have enjoyed many a pie from Yatala.
Delicious pies and sausage rolls to be had. The store can get quite busy but it's worth the wait.
This place is really losing its charm. You're treated like a transaction. Feels rushed always when ordering. I feel sorry for people who need an extra minute to decide. It's really just a good enough pit stop but I would rather just go to a different place. As for their pies. They are okay. I've had better. Not the worst but not the best either.
OVERRATED, Most pies lack flavour, if you have a bland palette then you might like this place. If you are into refined flavours that provide memories and feelings then this is NOT the pie shop you're looking for. The curry pie was nice but nothing spectacular. I've eaten a lot of pies from a lot of different bakery's and pie shops, better off stopping for a servo pie, cheaper and same quality/flavour.
Definitely recommend a curry chicken and vegetable pie with mushy peas. Fast Service even with a line, good prices.
Great tasting range of pies. Staff are friendly and efficient.
There are a variety of desserts and food options but not so much that it is overwhelming.
Geez what a feed.
And the line-up for drive thru was out the front gate and down the road.
It was quicker to park and walk in.
But a great feed
Just stopped for a curry pie to eat in & pastie to take away OMG the lovely blonde lady that served me was so helpful & polite with a smile now that’s what I call Customer Service! 7/12/2021
Yea it's pretty special. Perfectly crafted pies with an excellent flavour and texture, the sausage roll I had was surprisingly very well made as well. Nice desserts too.
We will often stop here for a pie and have some for over 15 years. Love their pies and deserts. Coffee is great as well. Only negative would be when busy getting a park.
Could there be more vegetarian/vegan-friendly options here? The vegetable pie always tastes as if they chucked a bunch of random vegetables in a gelatinous substance just for the sake of it. I've read a countless number of reviews that complain of the same issue, but I'm disappointed to see that there has been no action done to fix this issue.
The pies were sloppy, the building was extremely outdated, and the atmosphere was genuinely disgusting, only good thing about it is that its next to the highway and you can pop in. But i guarentee if any other resturant/store took its place there would be a line down the road just to get in.
Love these pies,
A meal on there own.
Entering the front of the shop is like a production line " Next".
