I was trained by Rory_kungfu_massage in the fine arts of Malcom Sue Kung fu. It was great, I gained confidence and I could have sworn that my training videos had the ladies swooning.until one day a guy at the bus stop was harassing my classmate, my crush actually. So I remembered what sifu told me “never fear, only the weak fear. ” So I took sifu Rory’s words and teachings and squared up to the guy. The guy looked at me and chuckled, he told me to “mind my own business “

So I did the one two combo that sifu taught me with my open palm. I think I landed about one or two karate chops that sifu taught me.
The next thing I remember I woke up in the hospital with a broken jaw, a concussion, bruised rib and Lacerated lip. My mom said it a almost $1000 in medical fees.

I though sifu was right, I thought sifu was intelligent. I wanted to go speak to sifu about this incide find out why I wasn’t able to “channel the inner chi” thru my moves. But my mom won’t let me go and said that it’s Sifus fault, I don’t get it. My mom and dad said I can never set foot in that dojo again. I miss sifu, one star is becuase I got knocked out but I still know and believe sifu has more to teach me. It was my fault I “feared the fear” like sifu Rory said. Joined powerhouse a few months ago and have been loving it! Membership prices are great and the gym has much room & equipment!

Worst gym I have ever been too, I used to love coming here but it’s now awful. I am now Never greeted, never farewelled and the place is extremely dirty. And when I went to cancel the Manager John was the rudest “manager” I’ve ever come across EVER. Customer service here is disgraceful. Let alone the owner yelling at a member so the entire gym could here. Too World Gym I go.

Powerhouse has been the Best Gym I've been with! The weights, machine areas are awesome! The staff are always friendly! Such a really great place to workout at A+

Plenty of room with lots of machines and free weights. No waiting. It has everything you will need. Good for beginners to experienced

If you know your way around a gym or want to pay a trainer $50 plus a week, this place may suit. Anything in between I'd suggest you find another gym.

I've been waiting 2 months for a finalised gym program and still waiting. I was willing to pay their going rate for a program and some sessions to get me started but no one was interested or got back to me.

One of the managers eventually provided a provisional program to get me started but he continues to miss his own deadlines in providing a finalised program.

I can't comment on classes they provide as have not attended any.

Fairly large set up, with lots of equipment, most of it a mystery to me at this stage and potentially to remain that way.

Invited to join a Saturday morning HIIT class by a friend who is a member. It was a great workout and everyone was super friendly and encouraging - the trainer had a great vibe and funny! I don’t live local but would thoroughly recommend anyone who does, consider joining this gym go check it out plenty of room and something for everyone!

The gym is lovely! Very fresh equipment, however the cleaning products could be better set out as there’s a spray bottle and a blue cloth that has been used with everyone’s sweat in it? Also it wouldn’t be hard to say hello to members that come in…I said hello to I would assume the manager as she’s been there for years and she blatantly ignored me…I’ve heard rumours of the managers giving off bad vibes and never felt that way until today.please take the time to actually welcome the members as they’re the reason you have a business still going. Otherwise this gym is awesome 10/10 but customer service could definitely be improved.

Powerhouse is amazing value for money! They have 24/7 gym access, creche, reformer pilates and Yoga (just to name a few). They're also fully air-conditioned and the whole gym is always so clean! Amazing amazing amazing - I can't recommend them enough.

Love this gym, no gym can ever beat the Powerhouse gym Southside Leg room, love the 5am classes with Tamara and the arvo boxing classes with Tay and my absolute fav is ASA’s “golden bench” bench in the functional room, you’ll never want to bench anywhere else again.

Best gym in Brisbane! Equipment is second to none! Great vibe! Great friendly staff and value for money like no other gym

I’ve been a member here since 2018. This gym has the largest range of equipment on offer you could ask for. Whatever you need, they have. After hearing this you might be worried that it’s “overcrowded” however this couldn’t be further from the truth.

The best gym I’ve been to, $10 memberships is so gym! Literally the coffee I buy for the day! They definitely meet the expectation of an affordable gym.

They have managed Covid extremely well, the gym is always so clean and tidy. Have never felt uncomfortable at this gym and management are so engaged with their members it’s so welcoming and nice!

Absolutely love this gym! The staff, facilities and owners are the reason I return. I have been to many gyms but nothing like this one.

In gyms I have been in previously you would be required to pay for a PT session just for a simple chat and demonstration of equipment and use however I am approached by PT’s/owners particularly Trav the owner and Vai who have helped me with form and technique as they are just walking through the gym.

I currently do PT with Vai and have never been happier, Vai has so much knowledge and it shows.
I have lost well over 20 kg since joining Powerhouse Gym southside and this is because the gym is so welcoming, the equipment is 10/10 quality, clean and the staff are so friendly. I honestly would not go anywhere else.

Basically powerhouse gym equipment is good but their management and contract agreements are terrible. They ended up charging me an extra 3 months on my contract after telling me my contract ended after 6 months. I had moved homes and away from the area.and it was agreed by jewels that my contract would end in august (which was 6 months). Basically tried calling a million times and was always put through to another manager who kept telling me that the owners had “forgot” their conversations with you. And you’ll have to wait until the 9 months is up to be finished (which a new manager set on my contract and extended it, which I had not confirmed). Was Told I would get a call back from the owners to discuss this, which I never received. So the lesser manager cancelled my contract and said you should be grateful. They said you were put on a contract you were never meant to go on. Which apparently was my fault. Anyhow terrible experience, don’t recommend signing up with them. Lost about 120$ because of poor management integrity.

Friendly people and ample equipment. Good selection of healthy foods and shakes. Very reasonably priced.

As with others, I tried to cancel my membership in January when they changed to 'Powerhouse. ' Cancellation was confirmed via email but I kept getting charged. Have tried to speak to the owner and manager about it at least 6 times over 6 months without response. I asked my bank to refund me the money they incorrectly charged me which they did. Unfortunately now I have ARMA (debt collection) chasing that money back. Again I've tried to speak with the manager and have received no communication whatsoever. I'm shocked and how unprofessional this whole process has been for me. I've referred them to the Fair Trade Ombudsman and anyone else going through the same thing should too.

I'm a trainer at another gym in Brisbane and trained here to try out some of their equipment. Powerhouse had a huge range of equipment for all different styles of training and experience levels. The staff were super friendly and the members were also very friendly. Would recommend training here and I look forward to my next visit.
