60I felt very safe at The Vale with double security mechanisms on the doors. For some unknown reason the only towel in the room was a hand towel but when I mentioned it to staff they were most eager to fix that oversight. Thank you Matthew for your immediate response that made me feel valued.
Security compound is a great idea (gives peace of mind of car being safe).
Room was ok, but needs a microwave.
Ordered the 200gram eye fillet. It was not a Rib eye fillet at all. It had fat on it. Very small serve of vegetables with mostly deb style potato. Never again!
Foods pretty decent but turning off the UFC and putting boxing on is a major mistake and annoyed everyone bar a very very select few. Shoukd Take down those Home of UFC signs I for one will not be coming back very disappointed.
Tania the Bar person who was very Passive Agreesive made our experance less than pleasing. On several occasions she approached us with a snarl and a Its a "your Fault attuide no mine. " She had us all on tender hooks.
Mabey she should rethink about working in Hospitatity.

First impressions folks: for its age, give me a break, spectacular. And those ladies at the front desk, gave my young family a royalty treatment - as if they were expecting some high profile personalities. I'd tell you what, we were escorted to the room to settle in, and handed the keys before even asking for check in details. What better warmth and treatment can we expect? For a people-oriented welcome, we will always come here anytime we're in Townsville, and we will recommend anyone coming into town to please check the Vale out first. And one more thing, you will get the best if you please come with your smiles and don't upset the frontline people with drama. 5 star please!
Don't usually stay at motels when I go to Townsville as I always stay with family but I thought we'd try something different the room was very clean the staff were very friendly as well always smiling I loved the fact that I didn't have to worry about parking the hire car outside in a carpark as the gates were always locked & you could only get in by using the key card. We will be booking to stay at the vale motel the next time we are in Townsville. All in all 9 out 10
Very slow service. The food was mediocre could not change sauces or have a choice of what you wanted. Waited for ages for our food. The male server manager was polite and tried hard but one of the women servers was really rude
There is nothing wrong with the tucker at all. In fact it's pretty good.
HOWEVER, no printed menus, no one to talk to to order food. Everything to do with deciding what to eat is via mobile phone, app etc. Like the big supermarket chains self checkouts etc etc, do the work for the pub, reduce staff, again etc etc. Yep I'm an older, probably cranky bloke. But, if I cannot read a printed menu, and then talk to someone whilst I order my meals, then I don't come back. I don't goto Macas, I don't go to The Vale any more. My money goes elsewhere. And, that includes the $50 my missus normally shoves in the pokies.
EDIT: Matt, the food is only part of any restuarant experience. I go for the whole package. And having reduced staff, to maximise profits is not what I want in a restaurant. As I say above, the tucker is pretty good, the rest of the experience, including electronic menus etc is what will have me NOT returning.
What's next? A surcharge to have your beer cold and a surcharge for the glass. Cheers.
Steak was magical - online ordering is a bit of a mission tho, just put your order in at the bar, much easier.
Value for money for the rooms. Apparently there is a plan from the new owners to renovate the rooms so should be good then as they are pretty tired now.
Peter and Katie went above and beyond for my 43 pax booking tonight at The Vale. Our footy team had AMAZING meals cooked promptly and served quickly and cooked to perfection. Well done to the chefs and staff for a great experience. I will recommend to anyone travelling to Townsville!
We’ve stayed here two nights. Very affordable rates. The rooms are old but very clean very comfortable beds and the restaurant is great food with excellent staff. Very happy with simple clean accommodating premises and staff. Very happy to recommend this site. Would stay here anytime and every time. In fact we wanted to book in for the following weekend but sad to say it was all booked out. Thanks “The Vale”
The old Vale has been a tad updated since my first visit in 81.
A pretty good pub to visit.
Last time I was there we stayed a couple of nights in the room, pretty good too.
Definitely no complaints there. I would recommend it, for sure.

Enough Room for Family to accommodate, Friendly Staff, secure parking, Close venue for work purposes.
Retirees going for lunch with no mobile phone. Asked for menu and told only table scan available and no printed menu available. Surely a printed menu? No. Left with no lunch. Get your act together
I took my elderly parents and sister here for mother's day. On the ball me had booked online for the day prior - heh heh. It was packed and there were no available tables. The manager still accommodated us with a seat outside, providing a chair with a back for my mum who could not sit on the benches. He came back to check later if we would like to move inside as there were tables available after a period of time with people leaving. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and the manager's efforts to accommodate us, when I had booked for the wrong day, were much appreciated:)
Ordered a Seniors meal from the table via smart phone and included desert in order, however desert was not forthcoming. Nowhere did it state that the desert would be Plum pudding only. Needs to be more transparent and forthcoming. Shouldn't have to ask. Another technological error. Can't beat the human service.
Unable to all order at once, they had finished there meal before we even got ours, ordering only worked for 1 couple montys reward didnt work had to order at reg, meal was nice, staff were apologetic
Food was good, service was great, a few items were unavailable on the menu but overall good experience.
