Urban Climb Townsville reviews
11Climbing gym had a wide range of boulder problems with very technical and unique climbs. Staff were super friendly and helpful displaying safety tips for beginners. Only draw back I saw was Urban Climbs pricing segments with the lack of single entry price for climbers first times at the gym (increased first time price in exchange for 2 week free climbing (shoes included) Would be a good deal if I wasn’t just visiting for the day. Overall awesome gym with awesome service!
The staff are very nice and helpful. I paid for my grandsons to have a daily pass last Sunday. Then, I found out, because it was their first time there, that they can have the next two weeks free. I am super happy about that.
Friendly atmosphere, encouraging staff and members.
Would recommend this gym to literally anyone! Glen and his team should be proud of the environment they've created here.
Friendly staff with efficient service and demonstrations provided. Waiver system easy to navigate and complete. Immaculate facilities! Took two kids - the younger kid is 4, and he is not really ready to enjoy the full experience yet, but the older one, who is 7, got a lot out of it. Great coffee in proper, reusable cups!
Took the grandchildren and they loved it. Highly recommend it for young ones to build their confidence, and use their strengths.
Definitely worth a visit! And dog friendly
Free water and lots of fans to keep you cool
A beautifully assembled, modern, clean venue with regular route updates and warm friendly staff.
THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD! Really fun to do with friends, easy to learn although harder to get better at which is part of the fun! I love going here and wont stop!
Great venue with an awesome atmosphere. This type of thing is what Townsville needs more of!
The wait is finally over!
Incredible facilities, amazing staff, good vibes. What more could you ask for?
Great for a family day out, some alone time to clear your head space, or anything else in between.
Get there and try it out ASAP, you won’t regret it.
I was happy to see a bouldering gym open up in Townsville and I had the opportunity to give it a go a handful of times over the Christmas break. The staff are super friendly, and the brand-new facilities are obviously in excellent condition.
However, I just wasn't feeling excited about the problems which were set. For me they seemed a little limited in choice and not much crossover of the grades (challenging positioning/easy holds or easy positioning challenging holds) to introduce natural development of people's skills who are climbing. I never had that 'a-ha' moment or 'cool' feeling when you work something out or complete a climb like I've had elsewhere.
This observation is just in comparison to other gyms I've climbed at but overall, this is a good gym which is sure to develop its offering and grow a tight community in no time. I look forward to visiting again in the future.
