Left devestated and in pain. I had been On the waiting list for many years to receive urgent dental treatment and I was in the process of getting a denture. I had to move and so i had to cancel an appointment, I called to book in at my new location n I was told that I was taken off the list bc I cancelled my appointment. Bc of this I'm now at the bottom of the list that's 2yrs long, with missing and cracked teeth and pain and 2yrs wait till I can receive a much needed denture that I had already waited years for.

Dr Anne provided gentle and thorough treatment. Convenient positioning on campus and easy to book an appointment:)

This place cost me a significant amount of money when I was a broke student, both fillings I got here were poorly done and had ledges and immediately started causing bleeding an gum inflammation, they claimed there was no problem with them. Other dentists disagreed…

Seeing some of the reviews here I really question whether I needed fillings at all, if not they've damaged two of my teeth and will cost me thousands of dollars over my life on new fillings every 10 years and possibly crowns/implants for the most pathetic little profit.

Be careful! I had a filling fall out after a few days plus lots of other issues. Dentist was really unreasonable and rude about me mentioning the issues. Going to have to go somewhere more reputable to get everything fixed and spend a lot of extra money.

I went and got a checkup a few weeks ago for some of my molars which were hurting, (just so you know I do not reccommend this place at all) dentist didn't really give me an answer and just went over and looked at my teeth and said they looked fine, I told them that they were hurting still and they told me to go see a specialist, waste of 30 dollars and my time, I should've just gone straight to the specialist, again, would never reccommend to anyone

I’m upset that when I came here, I expected it to be $30… walked out with a huge bill and also found out my health insurance covered none of it! I wouldn’t recommend this place because they basically talk you into getting extras, I was definitely not needing an X-ray but got talked into getting one, probably so they could just get more money off me. Not affordable for uni students!

Fillings broke down after barely two months. The dental assistant was rude and rough with the suction.

Filling done on an upper molar. The filling started to break down a few weeks after the appointment. I was attracted by the cheap pricing and discount for uni students and now understand why it is so. Quite disappointed and will have to get the filling fixed elsewhere. Will not be coming back here again.

I came in signed up for a wisdom tooth check/checkup. The wisdom tooth check was free and the check up $30. So I lie down and she looks around my mouth for about five minutes before assuring that everything was fine (the main and predominant concern i had was wisdom tooth pain). Anyways the proceed to charge me $30 FOR FIVE MINUTES OF A WEAK CHECK UP. Never come to this clinic. I’m finding a new dentist.

I have been going to Dr. Anne for a few months now and she is always kind and does great work. I had two sore teeth imparticular and I haven't had any irritation since my work with her! She has booked me in consistently until my work was finished and I feel confident in my results and trust her work very much! Thank you so much!

I’m an Asian. But I hate the female Asian dentist in this clinic. My original dentist Anna was not available. So that Asian female dentist became my dentist in that day. I just want to fill a gap in my teeth. But this lady did nothing. She has a poor knowledge and technique on dental issues. She drilled my teeth and fill it again with my gap was still there. And took my money. I don’t know why Australia can issue certificate to dentist like her. My dentist in China is much better then her with cheaper price. Now my teeth just died and have to do root treatment. Please fire her before this clinic shut down.

Wisdom teeth consultation was free but I wanted to have mine removed while asleep which they don't do. Their prices were also quite high.
Went to some place who gave a free consult and special price because I was a UQ student (some UQ union deal).
I'd recommend UQ dental post their wisdom teeth removal fees online to save people time if possible.

I implore UQ students to read and consider this before booking this dentist. As one student to another:

I came here regularly while I studied my PhD. It was cheap and Dr Anne seems to be experienced and to genuinely care about her patients. In order to make the cheap rates viable for a Dentist, the treatment is always quickly in/quickly out. In other words, all treatments such as fillings, cleaning, etc, are done as fast as possible to get you out the door. As a student you probably are willing to trade this for cheap dental treatment.

However, looking back, there were several problems with my teeth that arose as a result of going to this dentist. For instance, I now have an extremely tight passage between two molars due to very poorly applied neighbouring fillings on the sides of those two teeth. Flossing there is now difficult, awkward and feels like I might rip one of the fillings out one day. Otherwise, several basic fillings I received here fell out within 2-18 months of being applied. To be clear, fillings should last more like 10 years, or longer. I have never had fillings fall out from any dentist, except here. Every time I had to go back to get the filling redone, more original tooth was drilled away. The more tooth taken away, the closer you come to needing to get a root canal. Which is exactly what happened to one of my teeth after a few rounds of filling/refilling it at this dentist.

By this point, I'd had it with this dentist and decided to get my root canal and subsequent dental treatment at a different dental pratice elsewhere. Sure I pay more, but I haven't had any problems with any of the treatment I have received there so far.

Long story short:
You have a finite amount of real tooth for your whole life. Don't waste it here with poor fillings that need to get quickly replaced. You will probably end up spending more in the long run dealing with bad dental work here, like I did. Go to a good, moderately priced family dental practice instead and stop having problems with teeth for the rest of your life!

This is not my real name.

Shocked by these reviews! - I've been seeing doctor Anne for five years now, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Not only is she capable, but also kind, patient and understanding:)

Came here to get an 8 year old broken front tooth cap replaced. The other tooth also has a cap but was still attached. The cap the fix job is absolutely terrible. I didn't know how bad it was until I was finished and had paid. After setting the entire thing she used a power tool on it and somehow created step like structures on both sides of the cap. I can feel them with my tongue. The back of the cap is also super bulky, and I can feel it constantly with my tongue. Plus the surface is horrible. I have a permenant retainer which is why she thought she needed to make it this bulky, but it is so terribly done I'm so upset. This thing will be in my mouth until I can afford to get it replaced. She also screwed up my other cap a bit with her power tool.

I have been to this dental surgery quite a few times and I have always found the Dentist and the staff very helpfull and efficient. The prices are cheaper than other dentists outside the university. Occasionally I have had to wait but that says to me the dentist is doing a great job and not rushing you out because she is running a little late. I would highly recommend this surgery for service and price

Strange to see these reviews by some students. I have been coming to see Dr Anne for years- as a nervous patient she has always been patient and easy going. She is an experienced dentist who shows genuine interest in her patients -which is rare these days

DO NOT GO THERE. 30 dollars check ups are a scam, not even written down simply less than 5 minutes spent of looking at your teeth. Everything is done in a rush, the dentist overbooks and then rushes through patients to meet deadlines. This place will take as much money as high quality dentist which this place is not. UQ services should be informed about this place as the University should care more about facilities at the campus.

Put in two fillings which they screwed up, that had to be redone elsewhere at significant expense and are now much larger, Very likely I never needed the fillings at all.

When I asked to have the x-rays forwarded to my new dentist they printed then re-scanned the digital x-rays, which resulted in images of such low quality that my dentist couldn't give me any opinion on them.

I've since been advised by people who work in the industry that this is a common practice amongst dishonest dentists to hide the fact that they're fraudulently claiming patients need fillings when they do not. The trick is to offer loss leading checkups then claim you need additional work regardless of whether you actually do or not.

Given they deliberately wrecked the quality of what were originally good digital x-rays rather than let another dentist see them I can only conclude that I did not need fillings, and that the dentist who saw me fraudulently claimed I needed fillings so they could get more money out of me, permanently compromising two molars so they could make a measly couple of hundred dollars.
I now have two very large fillings (and will probably one day need crowns) because of the disgusting fraudulent conduct of this practice.

Anne Fardoulys and her assistant Gail are the best in the dental business. I have been a patient at this service for over a decade and I am very happy with the quality of dental work and care I have received there. Initially I was a real 'nervous nelly' but in Dr Anne's expert hands, I never have to worry. A great and efficient dental service.
