Universal Taekwon-Do

Absolutely amazing experience at Universal Taekwondo. We have been with Mr. Kelly and his lovely wife and the whole Universal Taekwondo teaching crew for the last 3 years. My kids and myself love it. Mr. Kelly doesn’t just teach martial arts but spends time teaching young kids discipline, integrity, compassion, which I appreciate so much. I’m grateful my kids can practice in such environment. Love it so much that I joined in myself in Taekwondo and Haidong Gumdo. Can’t recommend Universal Taekwondo enough.

As far as Marital Arts go on the Sunshine Coast (and Queensland) this outfit is the best. Mr Kelly (and Mrs Kelly) take time with each student to ensure they reach their fullest potential. His classes are always enjoyable and value for money. Highly recommend for any age or fitness level.

It has been a privilege to being able to access the high-quality instruction at Universal Taekwon-Do. I have been able to use these teachings in competition all over the world, including representing Australia. There is no doubt that this is a highly professional school.

For us this is not just a club, it's a family, a safe space to nurture martial arts and self defense skills. We are so thankful for the positive influence he continues to receive here.

Mr Kelly and the Universal Team are absolutely top notch as instructors and practitioners. They go above and beyond to continuously better their teachings and have all the time in the world for their students (of all ages and goals). No politics, just Taekwon-Do. It's hard to find clubs that give you the same sense of family and belonging.

I've just returned to Mr Kelly's classes after 15 years away. He tailors to my age! And always makes me feel confident and welcome. I love learning Taekwondo from Mr Kelly, and the other black belts and students. Always fun and I'm getting fit again!

Mr Gerard Kelly is incredibly capable and passionate about Tae Kwon Do and this reflects in the quality of his teaching and the overall club experience. I would recommend for everyone (and I’m 72!)

I have trained in Martial Arts for over 20 years and have been part of a few different organisations. Universal Taekwon-Do is far more friendlier and welcoming than any organisations I have previously been part of, the knowledge shared and attention to each student makes me proud to be a member. The club is a giant family and Myself, my Wife and Three Kids will continue to be part of the club as long as they will have us.

I have had the pleasure of training with Mr Kelly and found him to be a totally professional instructor who not only has an amazing knowledge of Taekwondo but a passion for it that is infectious. Highly Recommended!

I was nervous at the start but the instructors were so friendly I quickly became confident and I was kicking like a black belt in no time. There was so much to learn and the classes were fun.

The instructors are very friendly and approachable. Both the founding instructors are very knowledgeable and World Championship medallists. The main instructor, Mr Gerard Kelly, brings an infectious energy to every class that makes you glad to have come and wanting more.
I came to this club after my previous one had regrettably closed down due to changes in the instructors' personal circumstances making travel to and from classes difficult. Universal TKD has welcomed me with open arms and made me feel part of the TKD family in no time.
