Turbot Street Medical Centre - Open 7 Days

I recently visited this practice as a new patient and the reception staff were so warm and welcoming. I was seen by Dr Dayae Lah who was absolutely lovely and very thorough, she even asked if I needed a doctors certificate which I felt was very thoughtful and caring for her to bring up without being asked. The practice itself is very clean and has an all-round cheery vibe and one of the shortest wait times I’ve experienced. I will definitely be a returning patient to this wonderful practice!

Scammers! When u book an phone appointment they do not call u back at the appointment day and time, instead they will say you havent answer your phone and charge you in $50 for nothing!
Even though after call and say there is no records of a call at all they become nasty on the phone, denied the rights to see a doctor until u pay the scam fee!

After moving to Australia from NZ I enrolled with Turbot st Medical solely based on the fact it was close to where I lived and I didn’t know the city.

Having previously had negative experiences with a GP (not from this clinic) I really didn’t have a lot of faith in the health system and I was really anxious about having to see a doctor. Let me tell you, I had nothing to be anxious about. From the day I first enrolled, Dr Rebecca has treated me with the most authentic level of genuine care, respect and kindness. No matter what it is that’s resulted in the doctors visit, she genuinely listens to you and goes above and beyond to make sure you get the care and treatment you need. She’s also an absolute legend at advocating for her patients when needed which is something I’d never experienced with health providers before. 10/10 would recommend her to anyone looking for a fantastic GP.

I’ve read a couple of reviews commenting on the wait times. Honestly, yeah sometimes you end up waiting a short amount of time past your booked appointment time BUT in my experience it’s never too long. Also, the way I see it, it shows that they are treating people like people; taking the time to make sure each patient is fully heard, understood, informed etc even if it means taking 5 extra minutes to do this. In my opinion the care you receive at Turbot st Med is absolutely worth having to occasionally wait and extra couple of minutes.

Bonus points for free parking, a pharmacy and pathology lab in the same shopping centre. Talk about making life easier!

Dr Owen is one the most kindest and understanding Doctors I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and the reception staff were very accommodating of my needs. I highly recommend Dr Owen to everyone (especially those like myself who are on the ASD spectrum and have complex needs) - she always makes you feel heard and will advocate for you at every step.

This is the first clinic I have visit in Brisbane after come beck. The receptionists is extremely kind and so professional! I request for appointment urgently for my little one.she is amazing and literally makes me feel so calm, her energy will make you stop worrying immediately! And So, thank you sunny!

Dr Rebecca Owen is truly excellent. She is thorough, compassionate and always goes the extra mile for her patients.

Giving 5 stars to Dr Will Lane. I have been a patient of Dr Lane for a while and recommend him to everyone I know as i believe he is the best in the business. He has always been upfront and honest during our appointments aswell as kind and supportive and friendly. A clear asset to any practice.

I have been seen the Dr. Rebecca I olove her service and attention, she is very professional she makes me feel that I'm in good hands.

DR Sarah Chu is the most is the most kind and professional GP I have ever had, and the receptionist are very helpful and clear with the information.

Dr Will Lane is the most caring and passionate Doctor I have ever had the privilege of seeing. He is kind, informative and intelligent. Definitely an asset to the practice

Lazy Dr. Mark Liu. Don't recommend him at all. My finger was broken he didn't touch in my finger because of COVID and just said it was broken and it will be crooked for the rest of my life and I could not do anything to change it. Terrible experience. Also I asked for a check-up and he said in my age (30) I dont need worry because I may be heathy. Really Doctor?

After going here for over 5 years I was denied help when I needed it, and the only justification for it was incompetence of several staff members.

I had been experiencing on going complications after having had COVID weeks prior. I have a persistent cough and started having difficulties breathing and heart palpitations. A covid QLD health doctor advised that I needed to arrange a face to face appointment with my GP ASAP. Given the time frame from initial infection I wasn’t infectious.
Turbot st refused to book me in because of the cough and insisted on a phone appointment. I was then told again by the doctor that I need a face to face but they still wouldn’t book me an appointment and suggested I try another clinic. I went to the clinic they recommended, however they only did vaccines and tests. The doctor didn’t have the equipment to examine me properly. They told me there was absolutely no reason my GP wouldn’t see me and advised I find a more competent doctors. I called a dozen places but everyone, while happy to do a face to face was booked out until after the long weekend as I had wasted nearly 2 days being messed around. I eventually found a wonderful practice who could tell I was distressed and went above and beyond to see me that afternoon. The doctor their also said I shouldn’t have been denied access. The reception team knew instantly that I would be of no risk and the doctor even invited me to remove my mask.

I understand the need to protect vulnerable patients, but I wasn’t a risk and the doctor and receptionist should have known that.
I was less of a risk than someone with no symptoms. They put frivolous policy above common sense, medical advice, and abandoned me while struggling to breathe. If you’re going to deny access to healthcare services of long standing customers, your staff should at least be trained enough to know when it’s completely unwarranted.

I was treated with utmost respect and care. Would recommend for anyone to come here as a regular!

Great service and very attentive doctors. Dr Sarah Chu was very helpful and explained everything in lots of detail. Reception was just as accommodating and lively.

I really had terrible experience with reception staff. I booked an appointment and later canceled it and I booked it again at late noon but unfortunately, I tried to cancel It I wasn't feeling good, I called In the centre and a lady picked up my phone and she was rude and said this I will be charged $50 as cancellation fees, I told her that I have never been informed of this charges.she was in total denial.

Great doctor and friendly staff. Occasionally have to wait a bit but the thoroughness of the doctor makes it all worth the wait. Highly recommended.
